Exclusive access to 6 privately owned stunning waterfalls. Surrounded by crown land. Kamaniskeg lake is a large lake known for its crystal clear waters, excellent fishing, loons, hiking/atv/snowmobile trails, and over 90 kilometres of boating.
Absolutely no dumping/ littering on the property.
To get to the waterfalls is considered to be a moderate to advanced level hiking ability required.
There are no neighbours.
There is no electricity or bathroom facility.

Our 1 night winter stay in the cabin was magical! We appreciated the eco-friendly ash that the host August had spread on the steep parts of the driveway, path and stairs for traction and that the wood stove was already warm to greet us.
Our party of 6 enjoyed a winter hike (challenging), sledding right next to the cabin, and could have skated on the pond if we had stayed longer! Sitting around the campfire with moonlit snow and zero light or noise (other than cowbells from the trio of bovine wanderers!) was truly special.
Winter-weight sleeping bags and hot water bottles were enough to keep us warm thru the night (-15C outside). The rustic cabin was exactly as pictured in the listing and the composting toilet shed was bright and clean.
We would like to come back in the summertime to explore the creek and trails.
Hipcamper tip: pack dishtowels, headlamps, and indoor slippers.

I booked a last minute camping trip with my daughter on Augusts Creekside site Oct 18. He greeted us and oriented us on our arrival. The land is beautiful and the site was very spacious. We had the option of pitching our tent on the platform. We had tons of space for our tent, dog bed, chairs and 'kitchen'. The site also has a large fire pit(tons of wood available) and BBQ. We enjoyed our night so much on this peaceful piece of property we definitely plan to go back🌞 Highlights were the trails (rugged), the creek/waterfall and Roxy the horse who was our neighbor during our stay. August assured us he was just across the road should we need anything. Our phone provider didn't work there (Rogers works there) so it was great to know we didn't need to go far in case of emergency.

Weekend Trip to Big Rock Eco Retreat & Campgrounds
What a wonderful time away where it felt that time stood still in the midst of falling leaves and glorious rays of sunshine. Jason and Susie ensured to meet all needs with prompt responses and, when needed, support. We enjoyed viewing the property, a peaceful boat ride and, of course, the accommodations. We didn't want to leave. A true bucket filling experience where we left feeling relaxed and grateful. Only regret is not booking an extra day.

Weekend Trip to Camp Rose Island
Sarah’s arrival instructions were perfect (our GPS definitely said we arrived before we arrived). We ended up being able to drive all the way in to our site in our Corolla, there was only one rock that stuck out a bit but Sarah warned us about it. The site itself was secluded and quiet, a good distance away from the next closest site. The lake was lovely, the land is lovely, Sarah is lovely; all around a lovely experience 💚

Weekend Trip to Big Rock Eco Retreat & Campgrounds
We stayed at the lakeside dome for two nights and loved every moment. It was peaceful, well maintained and had everything we needed. When we arrived Jason, the owner, and Rocky his very friendly dog came to greet us. He gave us a tour of the property and the other sites and answered any questions we had. We also went on a tour of the lake which was beautiful. He was very passionate and knowledgeable about the area and reccomepnded places we could go. 100/10 could not reccomend enough. We will definitely be coming back!

We had such a lovely time here! It was so quiet, and surrounded by beautiful ravens. There was even one that kept saying hello! The cabin was clean and not buggy. The outhouse was well maintained. They even provide a tent area outside the cabin so we could eat without getting attacked by bees.
Such a lovely property, very close by some beaches, small towns and really cool antique shops! The hosts were so warm and friendly.
I think our only suggestion would be to bring a foam mattress for the loft bed, as it's a very thin matt to sleep on. We're not in our 20s anymore, and definitely needed a thicker bed!
Would definitely recommend this rental. It's quiet, private, relaxing and exactly what we needed. 5/5!

Absolutely Stunning and Peaceful Escape! 🌲💦
We just returned from an incredible stay at this beautiful campsite and couldn’t be happier. The scenery was breathtaking — especially the waterfalls, which were not only gorgeous but so much fun to explore. There were plenty of well-marked trails that made hiking easy and enjoyable for all skill levels.
The host was fantastic — welcoming, helpful, and made sure everything was just right. It was the perfect place to unwind and recharge. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing nature getaway!

We had a very relaxing time staying in the Fallsview site! On one side of the site was the road with some trees in between but very little traffic going by so road noise didn’t bother us. On the other side was a flowing creek separating us from the other campsites. We were the only ones there for most of the time so we sat by the creek often to cool ourselves off. The site was very large so would be great for groups but we just pulled our truck camper up to the platform and had the rest of the space to run around with the dog! The best part of the entire stay was the waterfall…1 minute walk from our site, easy to get to if you’re adventurous. With small pools to dip in if it’s hot out. August was friendly and attentive, definitely worth a visit!

Clean! Very clean and well maintained area. Host replies quickly. Lots of fire wood available. Area was nice and quiet. Would recommend to anyone looking to get away for a quiet get away. Town is close enough you can pop in and grab a morning coffee and there is a few great swimming locations close by (by car) as well. We had a great stay and would love to visit again.

We recently camped at the Waterfall Rooftop Tent site at Camp Rose Island, and it was one of the most peaceful and unique getaways we've had.
The location is amazing—tucked deep in nature with the sound of a waterfall nearby that instantly puts you in relaxation mode. The rooftop tent was clean, spacious, and really comfortable, and the added shelter made it easy to cook, chill, and stay dry no matter the weather.
One of the highlights for us was the off-road access. If you're into 4WD adventures, the drive in is part of the fun—it really adds to that feeling of getting away from everything. Once you're there, it feels completely private and untouched.
There’s also a beautiful private lake on the property, and the view is absolutely stunning. We spent time just sitting and taking it all in—so peaceful and scenic. Whether you’re hiking, exploring, or just relaxing by the water or fire, it’s a spot that really lets you slow down and enjoy.
Everything was well-maintained and thoughtfully set up, and the host clearly cares about creating a great experience. We’d absolutely recommend this to friends who want something remote but still comfortable. We'll definitely be coming back. Thank you for sharing the place with us.

Wasn’t a marker to find the property but a quick call and we were able to find the site no problem. There’s 2 sites on this property, wish I was able to get my camper up the the back site but having the front site was nice and easy to pull in and out since it was a pull through but close to road and back site is more for tents. Lots of dragon flies, wild flowers, berries and trails. We brought water shoes with us due to other reviews and glad we did. Had a lot of fun walking up the creek in the water to check out and cool down in all the falls. We walked all the way up to the pond where there’s a third fire pit area. There’s locals that like to walk through the property to hike the falls but once they realized we were setting up camp they politely and respectfully left. This is a place that I’d like to come back to since we like the area and is nice to have the property to ourselves. Bonus is the public beach 7min drive from site which we enjoyed having to ourselves twice over the weekend.
