This was one of the original homesteads in the Margarees. There was an old sawmill on site which was used to build the house and barn. It was sold to a man who started renovations for a summer house but ended up listing it for sale. I purchased it and completely renovated the 100-year-old house. Shortly after, my brother and I started an outfitting company with no plan of building a campground, but in 2017 we saw a great opportunity for building something unique. We wanted to keep a backwoods camping feel, but yet create it around a hostel-inspired environment. We launched June 1, 2018 and are in full swing now. Nestled in a quaint old Fishing Town is a 4-Acre Forest property that hasn’t been touched since 1885!
This land overlooks the North Atlantic Ocean, with a 25ft bank at the edge of the property, and almost 200ft of stone beach!
No potable water on this property (well water is available by hose for cooking/cleaning/showering), but 10 minutes by car, you’ll find a Sobeys, a pub, a Home Hardware, and small local shops that carry camping supplies and so much more!
There is a composting toilet being built, please either bury the bag when you are done, or double bag it and leave it in the garbage box at the end of the driveway.
As a septic system is now on the property, I am unable to provide access to the waterfront campsite for camp-cars/RVs/trailers.
30 min drive away is the infamous Martinique Beach, a very popular surfing spot!
Lots of hiking and site seeing available nearby as well.
A long driveway is the entry point to the camping site.
All I ask is that each camper leave the property better than they found it. As you depart, another camper is most likely arriving, so please keep that in mind.
Enjoy the peace under the stars, and fall asleep to the sounds of the waves breaking against the shore, and the leaves rustling in the breeze!

There is currently a Tiny Home on the property being built, and it is currently occupied by the property owner full-time.
Garbage pick-up in this area only allows one black plastic bag to be removed every 2 weeks. If your garbage is in a clear bag the city will take it and you can put your sealed garbage in a clear bag in the wood box at the end of the driveway. The city ONLY takes clear bags. Recycling is allowed in blue bags.
Due to this restriction, I am not able to handle all the campers garbage -- please take any that you create with you if you do not have clear bags.
If any camper is found to have stayed past the checkout time, they will be charged for another night's stay.

This is a sweet little property of approximately an acre, though the whole lake is undeveloped. The site is treed with mostly mature trees and overlooks Little Robertson Lake. The lake is close, but the shoreline is not extremely easy to access. This campsite is private, but not remote. It is located close to a byway and you can drive in. There is not too much traffic on the adjacent road which leads to several white sand ocean beaches and trails along with Keji Seaside National Park and Thomas Raddall Provincial Park. All within a few minutes drive.

We own 58 acres of forest centered on a very old shale pit near Crescent Beach, Nova Scotia. Our long-term mission is to regenerate the landscape, returning all of the property to a forest in time. We hope to establish small camping compounds for family, friends and guests who would like to stay with us and enjoy the amazing scenery of Nova Scotia's beautiful South Shore.
Located just below Huey Lake, our property is watered by a stream that flows from the lake, through a series of tiny waterfalls in a gorge, through beautiful pine, maple, and oak forest down to a meandering wetland that drains into the Petite Riviere watershed.
Beavers are active in the area and have already begun the process of returning the old quarry to the wilderness. Their activities have created deep ponds where once there was a pit dug from the land for the shale that is abundant in this area. The beavers dammed and diverted the stream which has created a pond and wetland system at the lower end of the property. If you are very quiet in the early morning you may get to see Castor as he busily swims about his watery home.
Located near some of the most beautiful features of Lunenburg County, our property is a 5-minute drive from Crescent Beach, Risser's Beach Provincial Park, and Petite Riviere. Opportunities to cycle, hike, swim, canoe, kayak, surf and sail are all around us.

The boat can sleep 5 guests, but a private raised glamping tent is provided for overflow if required.
Off property you will find: auto race watching (at Riverside raceway), hiking, biking, ocean fishing, and shopping activities. Downtown Antigonish is but a ten minute drive. The famous Highland Games comes in July along with the Lobster Festival in New Glasgow. The Eastern Nova Scotia Exhibition runs from Aug 27-31.
Want to swim at St. FX University swimming pool? Day passes are sold at the university. Of course ocean swimming at one of the 19, nearby, beautiful area beaches is totally free for all, so get wet and splash in the sea!
Sure, you can sit inside and watch one of our many DVD movies, but instead why not : explore nature, take a walk through the woods, talk to your wife, or friend, play with the kids, or throw a ball for your dog? If you want to relax, visit the golf course in town or just chill on the comfy deck. Do you want to ride, your bike on mountain trails, fish, visit a lighthouse or a petting farm? We have these close by too!
Wide-open highways make for smooth, fast, travel to places like New Glasgow, Pictou, The Cabot Trail or the ferry to PEI. (now 1/2 price) All are within an hour's drive.
At night, relax around the fire-pit after a long day of fun. Then have a sleep "extraordinaire” on board! (No waves to worry about with this boat!)

Very convenient little spot off the white point road. 3 small simple plots in the trees and an outhouse. Perfect for me passing through and really nice to be able to cross the road to the sea. Also close to White Point. Beautiful area. For me not a camp I’d hang out at, but great as a pit stop.

Alan was very hospitable. He made sure we knew where to go. He helped us fill up with water. He allowed us to pick delicious apples from his trees and provided firewood. The site was secluded but had a great view of his property. We biked 18 miles off his property I the big island and back.

There's an outhouse, fire pit, chairs, picnic table and fire wood available which was very convenient. Alan was a wonderful host! It was a lovely site. There are two sites for tents on either side of his long driveway. One is next to a creek. Small outhouse available. You can see/hear his family during the day as this is at their home. Very quiet at night, you can hear the creek and the ocean. Close to many beautiful beaches.

When we arrived, it was clear that backing into Pam's spot was going to be tricky with our 16ft travel trailer. The lawn is sloped and the road quite narrow. It took us some time to make sure our trailer wasn't going to tip over. We managed it and also managed to stop local traffic while doing so. No one was there when we arrived but later on Pam's daughter showed up. It seems she is the one to be managing their site which may need some more effort. Pam is lovely and came over to meet us and offer help with whatever we might need. Her dog and ours had a nice time playing which was sweet. All in all, a starter hosting situation with an ok view in a closely housed neighborhood. Beware the slope when you are backing in.

What a beautiful spot to camp for a few nights! Ryan was extremely helpful and answered all of our questions. We loved how quiet and peaceful it was, and having hoses available for both water and a gray tank flush was such a convenient bonus. The bike trail was very close, and we enjoyed getting out on it between the rainstorms. We would definitely recommend this spot to anyone looking for a peaceful and convenient place to stay!
