This was one of the original homesteads in the Margarees. There was an old sawmill on site which was used to build the house and barn. It was sold to a man who started renovations for a summer house but ended up listing it for sale. I purchased it and completely renovated the 100-year-old house. Shortly after, my brother and I started an outfitting company with no plan of building a campground, but in 2017 we saw a great opportunity for building something unique. We wanted to keep a backwoods camping feel, but yet create it around a hostel-inspired environment. We launched June 1, 2018 and are in full swing now. Adventure awaits at this eco-camping hostel offering a natural setting, overlooking a picturesque valley. This is a sweet little property of approximately an acre, though the whole lake is undeveloped. The site is treed with mostly mature trees and overlooks Little Robertson Lake. The lake is close, but the shoreline is not extremely easy to access. This campsite is private, but not remote. It is located close to a byway and you can drive in. There is not too much traffic on the adjacent road which leads to several white sand ocean beaches and trails along with Keji Seaside National Park and Thomas Raddall Provincial Park. All within a few minutes drive.

Nestled in a quaint old Fishing Town is a 4-Acre Forest property that hasn’t been touched since 1885!
This land overlooks the North Atlantic Ocean, with a 25ft bank at the edge of the property, and almost 200ft of stone beach!
No potable water on this property (well water is available by hose for cooking/cleaning/showering), but 10 minutes by car, you’ll find a Sobeys, a pub, a Home Hardware, and small local shops that carry camping supplies and so much more!
There is a composting toilet being built, please either bury the bag when you are done, or double bag it and leave it in the garbage box at the end of the driveway.
As a septic system is now on the property, I am unable to provide access to the waterfront campsite for camp-cars/RVs/trailers.
30 min drive away is the infamous Martinique Beach, a very popular surfing spot!
Lots of hiking and site seeing available nearby as well.
A long driveway is the entry point to the camping site.
All I ask is that each camper leave the property better than they found it. As you depart, another camper is most likely arriving, so please keep that in mind.
Enjoy the peace under the stars, and fall asleep to the sounds of the waves breaking against the shore, and the leaves rustling in the breeze!

There is currently a Tiny Home on the property being built, and it is currently occupied by the property owner full-time.
Garbage pick-up in this area only allows one black plastic bag to be removed every 2 weeks. If your garbage is in a clear bag the city will take it and you can put your sealed garbage in a clear bag in the wood box at the end of the driveway. The city ONLY takes clear bags. Recycling is allowed in blue bags.
Due to this restriction, I am not able to handle all the campers garbage -- please take any that you create with you if you do not have clear bags.
If any camper is found to have stayed past the checkout time, they will be charged for another night's stay.

We own 58 acres of forest centered on a very old shale pit near Crescent Beach, Nova Scotia. Our long-term mission is to regenerate the landscape, returning all of the property to a forest in time. We hope to establish small camping compounds for family, friends and guests who would like to stay with us and enjoy the amazing scenery of Nova Scotia's beautiful South Shore.
Located just below Huey Lake, our property is watered by a stream that flows from the lake, through a series of tiny waterfalls in a gorge, through beautiful pine, maple, and oak forest down to a meandering wetland that drains into the Petite Riviere watershed.
Beavers are active in the area and have already begun the process of returning the old quarry to the wilderness. Their activities have created deep ponds where once there was a pit dug from the land for the shale that is abundant in this area. The beavers dammed and diverted the stream which has created a pond and wetland system at the lower end of the property. If you are very quiet in the early morning you may get to see Castor as he busily swims about his watery home.
Located near some of the most beautiful features of Lunenburg County, our property is a 5-minute drive from Crescent Beach, Risser's Beach Provincial Park, and Petite Riviere. Opportunities to cycle, hike, swim, canoe, kayak, surf and sail are all around us.

Connecting with nature, watching for wildlife, hunting, and many other activities await at this 25 acre campsite. The site is perfect for recreational use and off-grid use, including tent and RV camping. Topographically, the terrain is more or less level throughout, the site is forested throughout in maturing spruce, tamarack, pine, maple birch and poplar trees. A small brook runs along the westerly boundary and continues East and North to the Mull River and Mabou River. There is also a large portion of Crown land bordering the southern end of this parcel. This quiet region has remained pretty well unchanged over the years. Highway 19 and the Atlantic Ocean are only minutes West via Alpine Ridge Road. The area is surrounded by forest covered hills, rolling farm land and valleys dissected by dozens of streams.
Enjoy the quiet country setting of this property, while still minutes of nearby towns and all necessary amenities. Rectangular in shape, this large and private site offers ample road frontage... 572.4 feet or 174.5 meters, along the gravel surfaced Alpine Ridge Road, providing excellent year round access. The beautiful Lake Ainslie and breathtaking Bras d'Or Lakes are also within convenient reach of your land for those who enjoy world class boating and sailing. Fishing in the Bras d'Or Lake is also very good.
In winter, enjoy snowmobiling on maintained trails that link the trail communities across the Highlands. Cross country ski and snowshoe on countless trails around your property. Or enjoy ice fishing on a frozen bay or nearby lake. There are endless opportunities for outdoor activities all year on and around.
Two newly developed world class golf courses, Cabot Links and Cabot Cliffs, in the seaside town of Inverness are also within easy reach. Alan met us at the driveway and was super friendly. It was very cool to be hosted by a real native whose family has been there since the 18th Century. The site was simple and very nice, high above a tributary to Barney’s River. Unfortunately there were plenty of mosquitoes following the rain the day before.

Sally’s is as delightful as it looks in pictures! The pod we stayed in was clean, comfortable and charming, and well-stocked. We only stayed briefly so I didn’t explore the shared facilities much but washrooms and showers were clean and pleasant. Overall really enjoyed our stay and hope to stay longer next time!

Chris has a beautiful spot. It is very quiet and peaceful. It is not a traditional campground experience, and caters a bit more to the self-service camper. He's a very friendly and easy going person. We were lucky to be the only ones there with a beautiful evening. I would definitely stay again.

Karen thought of every possible detail to make our stay comfortable. The Perch is incredible! A small tent could be set up at the top, or just lay out your sleeping bags! We used the 10x10 pad for our tent, which was close to everything. Kathy and I spent most of our time fishing from the dock. The lake was incredibly warm and great for swimming, bathing and boating. Just remember your water shoes! Potable water was provided, as well as wood for the campfires. The outhouse was charming and extremely clean. There was even an outdoor shower and a handwashing station. I loved the covered cooking station, complete with an attached bottle opener.
The dogs were right at home. The view of the lake was beautiful and so peaceful. We stayed 6 nights and still didn’t want to leave!!! Kathy and I absolutely love The Perch and plan to return next summer. You won’t find a better thought out site or a nicer, more accommodating host!

Wonderful little spot on a hilltop. We had the place to ourselves; wandered down to the waters edge and spent a very quiet evening under the stars. Quinton was great to deal with.

We had a great time on the Hollow Brook Farm! When we arrived we immediately felt very welcome. The campsite is next to the brook, with a view on the pastures with the horses and sheep. Alexa, one of the owners, recommended a lot of things to do in the area. Also on the property there was lots of nature so see and explore. A real hidden gem in Nova Scotia!

We enjoyed our stay at Bear River Millyard. Our view of the water right from our site was so beautiful. The park was clean and Ronnie and Tracey were great hosts! We will definitely be returning!! Bear River is an adorable little town and so close to so many amenities and tourist attractions!

Awesome place to stay and the owner is great too! He is a well of information on the surrounding area if you want spots to explore. The facilities are great with the bathrooms/showers/dishwashing area. The lots are huge, we were 2 who pulled in and we were able to park so we were door to door (trailers) with lots of space.

Very private place and well arranged. A bit of driving on gravel but it is a good road. Get what you need before getting there as the closest convenience store is at 12 km away.
