A very remote, tranquil log cabin fishing camp hand-built in the 1960's. Akehurst Lake Wilderness Resort is only accessible by ATV (snowmobile in winter) or by foot (a 9-minute walk from the parking lot). There is no public access to the lake so it is wonderfully private & peaceful. We offer 5 cabins in total with some areas suitable for tents. There is a day-lodge with a kitchen and eating area for guest's use, kayaks, row boats, and a paddle board free for use as well as a wood-fired sauna! The lake is excellent for swimming. It is feet-friendly, shallow, and has no sudden drop-offs. And if you like to hike, fish or BOTH then this is the place for you. There are many nearby lakes that are a short drive/ride and hike away! Akehurst Lake does not have cell service or wifi. Lights are made possible by a gas generator in the evening. There is only cold running water in the day-lodge sink which is seasonal and depends on if the creek is running. Guests should be comfortable being in the woods and aware that if no one else is there, they will need to light the stove and fridge and operate the generator if needed. **Packing List** - Bedding (sheets & blankets or sleeping bag. Pillow covers) - Extra pillows (we provide 2 per cabin. Do not use google maps to find our place - it can be very confusing. Google maps may show coming to our property from Savona but the easiest drive is from Kamloops. Please use the directions that get emailed to you just before your stay. To get here head to the Kamloops airport then follow Tranquille Criss Creek Road. We do not recommend traveling this road in the dark if you are not familiar with it! Wonderfully private! Come give our land some love as it recovers from the 2021 Sparks Lake forest fire. Acres and acres to hike, mountain bike and snowshoe. Surrounded by crown land there is no lack of space to explore and easy access to forest service roads to quad and bike. The cabin was cute and cozy, with a warm indoor stove to keep the place warm. Lots of space with one mains bed and two small beds up top. We were there in October and we had the area to ourselves which was great, but it seemed the camping spot and Teepee were quite close to the cabin.

Weekend Trip to A piece of the salmon valley

We were a group of 6 in 2 camper vans and a truck tent and the site by the gazebo was great. We enjoyed the views and got to wake up to horses grazing in the pasture. There was lots of space, it was flat, and there was a campfire ring right there. Good group camping spot. Ken was also so friendly and helpful. Such a great host. Charlie (the dog) came to visit as well, so we got to enjoy his company each day too. Would definitely stay here again!

Better than advertise. The Kevin was new and clean. The wood stove kept us very warm and toasty. The firepit was well stocked with cedar cut offs . Hot pool was extremely relaxing and had a great vibe. We added a canoe to our trip and fished Gardom Lake. Excellent experience, we'll be back !
