The place is amazing! Sarah and Shawn are wonderful - they helped us with issue with our car and show us around the ranch - and shared with us the amazing space they have created. There's so much to explore, swim and hike around the Ranch.
The campsite is right next to the river with good privacy, and plenty of firewood!

We love Sarah and Shawn's ranch. This was our 4th visit there. The perfect get away. The scenery is amazing and it's so peaceful. Especially since it was just my husband and myself this time. We arecreally looking forward to our next summer and going back.

This was our 3rd time coming out to Mad Fox. We love the serenity and the scenery. And the boys really enjoy floating in the river and exploring for frogs. We are really looking forward to going again. Sarah and Shawn are amazing hosts. And we love seeing the different improvements they've made everytime we go.

Highly recommend this campsite! The creek is beautiful and we loved sitting beside it and watching and listening to it babble all evening while we ate dinner.
Shawn met us when we came in and was super friendly. He met us on the way out too and gave us some cucumbers from their amazing greenhouse.
The drive in from the main road is rough - 17km logging road - but our 35 foot rig did great as we took it slow.
I wish we’d stayed more than one night and explored the farm and acreage a bit more. There’s a lot to see there! And a lot to learn from a couple who are living off-grid and totally thriving.

This was an awesome spot. We made it in with our 27" Sunseeker without a scratch, and left wishing that we could stay for a full week instead of just a day. This is the best way to experience a homesteader's paradise, complete with awesome hikes, friendly farm animals, and some of the best people we've met on our road trip accross the western provinces. Don't let the drive in discourage you, just take 'er slow and you will be rewarded with memories that will last a lifetime.
Just remember to keep a clean campsite, there are Sasquatches in these woods ;)

The best place to camp off the grid.The hosts Shawn and Sarah are best.The sites are huge ,what can I say Shawn went over and above for me one night during a Rainstorm and let me stay in his Shop one night.I stayed in Site # 2 .I’ll definitely will return again in future

This place is amazing, 10 stars! Me, My wife and 3 young children stayed here for 3 nights. Sarah and Shaun are great hosts and super friendly. I recommend staying more then 3 nights, there is so much to do and it’s so relaxing you don’t need anything more then staying in the beautiful private site your in. The site is right on the river it’s so nice to watch and sit in all day, you can take a short walk to the other swimming holes and check out the animals in the yard. I wish We would have spent our whole vacation here, definitely the best campsite We have ever been to and I can’t wait to come back.

It was the greatest spot we ever camped at: the hosts were incredibly nice and gave us information about the place and surroundings. Our spot was directly at the beautiful river and you are surrounded by untouched nature. There are bears in the area so bring a bear spray. We enjoyed our stay (unfortunately only 1 night) and would come back anytime. Directions were good and it's a detour but it is totally worth it!

Wow what a place! The hosts were some of the nicest people we have ever met. They even recommended a better spot for us to stay! Directions to the place were excellent. The camp spot was beautiful! We will be coming here every year! My husband wasn’t sure about coming back after the long drive but immediately upon arriving his exact words were “this is our place.” Awesome place and cannot recommend enough.

This is one of the most beautiful properties we have ever been on. We camped down by the river. Private site, absolutely clean out houses, lovely walk through homestead. We highly recommend a stay with Sarah and Sean!

This beautiful spot is paradise. Be prepared for a bit of a trek to get there, 17kms off the main highway but it's well worth it. The hosts Sarah and Shawn are amazing people who are truly homesteading off grid in a very impressive way. There's something for everyone here. If you like to get away from the hustle and bustle of typical camp spots this is definitely a place to visit. If you get a chance to spend a bit of time with the hosts to learn about what they have accomplished there it will make your visit even more worthwhile. We look forward to going back!

Our stay at Mad Fox Ranch was so nice and relaxing! Sarah and Sean are very nice and accommodating. The cabin is awesome and comfortable. Definitely will go back for another trip.

This is an amazing place to camp! Our site was right by the river and had a beautiful picnic table and stone fire ring. Be prepared for an adventurous 30 minute drive down a logging road (I'm glad we were in an SUV). Shawn and Sarah are amazing and showed us their beautiful land complete with piglets, an ingenious greenhouse, and a bridge built over a river canyon! Their log home is stunning to see. Definitely recommend camping here if you're looking for an adventurous place to camp (keep a bear-safe campsite!)

What an amazing place! Sarah and Shaun were the friendliest people and made us feel so at home the moment we arrived. Of our three weeks in Canada, our two nights at Mad fox ranch were our most special. We cooked on the wood burning stove, floated in their lake in the sun, walked round the area and saw lots of wildlife and learnt lots around the campfire! We’ve come away feeling fully inspired!

I stumbled upon Sarah and Shawn at Mad Fox late one afternoon, they dropped what they doing to accommodate me though I had no reservations and just showed up on their doorstep. The cabin is clean, comfortable and coxy with everything one would need aswell as a beautiful stream nearby. I was impressed with the hospitallity and while I only spent one night i'm looking forward to a return visit.

We had the best stay at the cabin! It was SO cozy and Sarah even started the fire for us before we came so it was nice and warm. We also got fresh eggs to make for breakfast in the morning! Our dog was in heaven and it was so nice for him to be able to run around the property safely with it all fenced in! We will for sure stay again :). Thank you!

Everything about our stay at the mad fox cabin was amazing. The cabin was cute and cozy, even fenced off to so our dogs could run around and we knew they were close by. Our hosts, sarah and shawn are amazing people. Im glad that they are sharing this little piece of heaven with us. Im definitely coming back up in the summer for a little camping trip.
And to make it even better my dog got to meet her mom and dad (they live at the mad fox ranch). 🥰

Thank you Sarah and Shawn. Once again we had a wonderful time at your property. This was a second time there this year. Only this time it was just my husband and myself, which of course made it so much more peaceful. Even though it rained quite a bit and was overcast, it was still great and didn't affect our stay. We were able to have a wood fire this time instead of the propane fire. Much nicer for roasting marshmallows. And we really enjoyed going for a walk around the property and seeing the differences in the scenery since the summer. The fall colours were spectacular. Sarah and Shawn are great hosts. They had fresh eggs again for us to purchase. And they showed us their new green house and the cabin. Can't wait to go back and see how things are progressing.

I had an amazing time visiting the ranch last week. The stay was way to short! The owners have done an unbelievable job with the place. If you are looking to escape the hustle and bustle of the outside world and seeking an adventure in the woods offgrid this is the place for you. The hosts were extremely hospitable and the cabin was amazing. I am looking forward to my next visit there. This time I was with a hunting buddy. Next time im bringing my wife. Two thumbs up!......

Wow, the authenticity, the generosity, the experience. All of it warrants 11/10 stars if it were possible. There isn't one bad thing to say about the Mad Fox Ranch & the owners.
We were greeted by the most beautiful and friendly huskies as we drove in. Sean & Sarah showed us around the property (in the rain), and made us feel at home right away. You can tell how much love and passion is going into this property. I cannot wait to come back and stay in the cabin.

Thank you Sarah and Shawn. We had a such a wonderful time. The property is spectacular and so spacious. And its so peaceful and relaxing, but still had a lot of things to keep the kids entertained as well. They had a blast in the river catching frogs and toads or just floating around. We can't wait to go back again.

Really nice spot, unfortunately we couldn’t stay to enjoy it. Incredible lightning storm followed by heavy rains. Hosts were friendly and accommodating. We will try to return some day with hopes for better weather!
