A very remote, tranquil log cabin fishing camp hand-built in the 1960's. Akehurst Lake Wilderness Resort is only accessible by ATV (snowmobile in winter) or by foot (a 9-minute walk from the parking lot). There is no public access to the lake so it is wonderfully private & peaceful. We offer 5 cabins in total with some areas suitable for tents. There is a day-lodge with a kitchen and eating area for guest's use, kayaks, row boats, and a paddle board free for use as well as a wood-fired sauna! The lake is excellent for swimming. It is feet-friendly, shallow, and has no sudden drop-offs. And if you like to hike, fish or BOTH then this is the place for you. There are many nearby lakes that are a short drive/ride and hike away! Akehurst Lake does not have cell service or wifi. Lights are made possible by a gas generator in the evening. There is only cold running water in the day-lodge sink which is seasonal and depends on if the creek is running. Guests should be comfortable being in the woods and aware that if no one else is there, they will need to light the stove and fridge and operate the generator if needed. **Packing List** - Bedding (sheets & blankets or sleeping bag. Pillow covers) - Extra pillows (we provide 2 per cabin. Ask if more are available before arrival) - Towel/face cloth - Dish cloth & Dish towels - Paper towel/napkins - Toilet rolls - Lighter for fires (if applicable). Ours tend to all go missing or stop working - Flashlight - Drinking water - Cooler & ice You are welcome to create your own outdoor kitchen at your cabin, but we do ask you to be mindful of removing items from the day lodge that those using the kitchen might be counting on. ***We cannot stress this enough**: This is very remote. It is truly another world up there and we cannot be there at all times so it is a good idea to have some knowledge and experience in off-grid/backcountry living!

☀️ A Quiet Mountain Escape Above the Okanagan Off-Grid Retreat • 180° Panoramic Views • Complete Privacy Please note: Guests must bring their own bedding (sleeping bags, blankets, and pillows), towels, and drinking water. This isn't just a campsite. It's your own private mountain retreat. Nestled on 12 secluded acres high above Okanagan Lake, this is a place to escape the noise of everyday life. There are no neighbours, no traffic, and no crowds. Just fresh mountain air, sweeping views, and the kind of quiet that's becoming harder to find. Time moves a little slower up here, and that's exactly the point. Start your morning with a coffee overlooking miles of mountains and the Okanagan Valley. Spend your afternoons reading in the gazebo, exploring the property, or simply relaxing. As the sun sets, gather around the fire and watch the stars appear. With virtually no light pollution, the night sky is nothing short of spectacular. Although you'll feel a world away, you're still only about 20 minutes from a beautiful public beach on Okanagan Lake, making it easy to spend part of your day swimming, paddleboarding, boating, or simply relaxing by the water before returning to your peaceful mountain retreat. This isn't crowded camping. It's your own piece of the mountain. 🏕️ What You'll Enjoy 32-foot off-grid travel trailer Sleeps up to 6 comfortably Queen bedroom plus rear bunkhouse Air conditioning and propane furnace Full kitchen with microwave, stovetop, fridge, freezer, and hot water EcoFlow Delta Pro power station with 400W solar charging Spacious 10×14 covered gazebo with seating and lighting Outdoor soaking tubs filled with fresh well water (available upon request) Fire pit with Adirondack chairs Incredible 180° panoramic views over the Okanagan Valley Complete privacy across the entire 12-acre property ⚡ Off-Grid Without Giving Up Comfort The retreat is powered by an EcoFlow Delta Pro with 400W of solar, providing a quiet, clean off-grid experience without the noise or smell of a generator. You'll still enjoy many of the comforts of home while experiencing life off the grid. Lights, outlets, the water pump, and everyday essentials are all available. The air conditioner works well, but because it draws a significant amount of power, it's best used in shorter periods. The solar panel helps recharge the battery throughout the day, especially during sunny weather, so using electricity thoughtfully helps ensure there's plenty of power for your entire stay. The fridge, furnace, oven, stovetop, and hot water system all operate on propane, allowing you to enjoy reliable comfort while keeping electrical usage to a minimum. ❤️ Why Guests Love Staying Here Complete privacy with all 12 acres to yourself Stunning 180° mountain and valley views Okanagan Lake beaches only 15 minutes away Incredible sunsets and unforgettable stargazing A peaceful, generator-free off-grid experience A chance to truly unplug, slow down, and recharge If you're looking for a place to clear your mind, reconnect with nature, and enjoy the kind of silence that's hard to find these days, you'll feel right at home here.
