The property is truly magical and Brock was super helpful and friendly. This secluded spot has uninterrupted views of the lake and valley, the darkest of skies for stargazing and the peace and quiet to take it all in. Doing it all from the comfort of an RV is also a super nice treat! I highly recommend filling the outdoor soaker tub for an extra level of luxury.

We spent a beautiful night in the Tipi. The host was warm and welcoming, the space was amazing, and everything was well-equipped. A truly special experience! 🌿

The cabin was a perfect place for two sisters to have a three day reunion but there was enough room for a larger group with the gueen size bed, fold down bunks and a good size sleeping loft. We cooked on the bbq, had evening camp fires in the large fire pit and enjoyed the view out over Deep Creek valley. We woke up to the smell of the forest and the sound of song birds and heard the night hawks overhead in the evening. The outdoor hot shower was very much appreciated. Darcy and Bev are great hosts and I highly recommend this spot.

1 night at Wendego Lodge Off-grid & Free Sauna

This is a truly special spot. The owners are warm, thoughtful people who go out of their way to ensure everyone is well looked after. The setting is stunning, right across from a beautiful lake, with kayaking, paddle boarding, motor boating, and even a serene sauna experience with lake views. I was on a long road trip to the Yukon and a bit anxious about the off-road drive ahead. Ray generously offered to help if I ran into trouble—an incredibly kind gesture that has stuck with me. This place sparked something creative in me—I even began writing a short story here. It’s the kind of place that inspires you to slow down and reconnect. Excellent value for what you get. I'd absolutely return—and highly recommend it to anyone!

The tipi was huge and the bed so comfy! The view and privacy, top notch! LOVED the outdoor shower. Few extra steps to the outhouse but that’s life. Loved the little A-frame wood holder and the protective lean-to. We drove the truck up the skinny steep road, but it’s really not far if you park at the house and carry things down. We never heard the cabin guests unless their dog barked. To me, this was glamping. Darcy and his son were great. We would definitely go back. My hubby got zero mosquito bites, I got them all! Just bring spray! :)

Super comfy bed. Fantastic outdoor shower was glorious on this sunny morning. Beautifully timbered cabin, shower and outhouse. Great spot for relaxing by the campfire up on a ridge. Kind (and patient) host. Hot tip: use house number 878 for address if using Apple Maps!

This cabin was exactly what we needed. Quiet, simple, and surrounded by nature. Tucked away in the woods, it offered peace without pretension. Two fold-out chairs on the porch were perfect for sipping coffee and watching the trees sway. Inside, the space was cozy and warm with a wood stove that added charm and comfort. Our cat, leashed and curious, settled in easily and enjoyed the quiet as much as we did. Though we had cell service, we rarely touched our phones, only for music and photos. The forest was more than enough. We spent our days walking short trails, watching light filter through the trees, and resting without pressure. At night, we built fires in the large fire pit and talked under the stars. The view through the trees was beautiful, especially at sunrise and sunset. Everything about this stay reminded us to slow down. It wasn’t luxury, it was something better. Real, grounding, and quietly unforgettable. We left feeling lighter, more present, and deeply grateful and will be regulars here for sure.

Super cute cabin with an outdoor shower, toilet, and fire pit. Cabin was spotless. Very quiet during the night, and lots of cedar trees and gulls nearby made for a coast like feel. Highly recommend.

The cozy cabin has a queen bed and a loft with 2 single beds. The hand painted tipi has 2 queen beds and 4 single beds. Outdoor hot shower and outhouse. Outside running water. Fire pit. BBQ. Akehurst Lake Wilderness Resort

A very remote, tranquil log cabin fishing camp hand-built in the 1960's. Akehurst Lake Wilderness Resort is only accessible by ATV (snowmobile in winter) or by foot (a 9-minute walk from the parking lot). There is no public access to the lake so it is wonderfully private & peaceful. We offer 5 cabins in total with some areas suitable for tents. There is a day-lodge with a kitchen and eating area for guest's use, kayaks, row boats, and a paddle board free for use as well as a wood-fired sauna! The lake is excellent for swimming. It is feet-friendly, shallow, and has no sudden drop-offs. And if you like to hike, fish or BOTH then this is the place for you. There are many nearby lakes that are a short drive/ride and hike away! Akehurst Lake does not have cell service or wifi. Lights are made possible by a gas generator in the evening. There is only cold running water in the day-lodge sink which is seasonal and depends on if the creek is running. Guests should be comfortable being in the woods and aware that if no one else is there, they will need to light the stove and fridge and operate the generator if needed. **Packing List** - Bedding (sheets & blankets or sleeping bag. Pillow covers) - Extra pillows (we provide 2 per cabin. Ask if more are available before arrival) - Towel/face cloth - Dish cloth & Dish towels - Paper towel/napkins - Toilet rolls - Lighter for fires (if applicable). Ours tend to all go missing or stop working - Flashlight - Drinking water - Cooler & ice You are welcome to create your own outdoor kitchen at your cabin, but we do ask you to be mindful of removing items from the day lodge that those using the kitchen might be counting on. ***We cannot stress this enough**: This is very remote. It is truly another world up there and we cannot be there at all times so it is a good idea to have some knowledge and experience in off-grid/backcountry living!
