Colin receives a 10/10!! He provides everything needed for a night or several nights of camping. His place is very well organized, clean and QUIET! If you’re lucky, a banana slug will meet you at the out house in the morning! I highly recommend Colin’s sites. He is very kind, helpful and informative of the area!

Their location is right in the heart of the Comox Valley, Their site is a stone’s throw away to Miracle Beach Provincial Park and swimming holes in the Comox Valley. Jamie’s campsite was private and so large and many different options for where to place your tent! Wood provided which was very helpful!! Overall a great experience and have already booked a trip to come back!

Lisa was a great host! She provided everything needed. The spot was clean and had plenty of space for 2 of us and our pups. Her and her family members were very careful about driving slowly past us, knowing we had dogs off leash and always made sure to keep their gate closed. Having hookups for power and water were helpful and a treat for us. Our leveling blocks came in handy. There’s some background noise from the road and occasional goats/cows, which was entertaining to us. A lot of noise from small planes, maybe due to the holiday weekend. We would be happy to stay there again.

Paul’s place was well signed and right near to the water! We had our choice of sites after the first night there, we moved over to site 8 from site 6 because it got super windy and I was feeling cold. The outhouse was really well stocked and it was a pleasure to do your business in there! I am definitely returning to this site in the near future!

What a lovely spot. The directions here were spot on. It was quiet and comfortable. It was a short walk to the beach. I would stay here again.

Paul's land is amazingly beautiful and peaceful for our 3 night visit. We walked all around the area, visited the beach, chatted with neighboring campers and over-all had an wonderful camping vacation. Paul was super accommodating and checked-in about our fire wood and made sure we had enough. Site 6 was the perfect place for our little family. We have future plans for sure.

My daughter and I had an amazing stay at site 8! I drove up on to the field and parked to see what site I was at and Paul drove up right away to help me out! The area was quiet, the sound of nature was so relaxing. Walked down to the beach which was a few mins walking distance. Will definitely stay again! Thanks Paul!

1 night at theDoighouse Earthship

The Maple Cabin was so cozy. We had such a beautiful time, we wish we could’ve stayed more than just one night. Exploring the trails was wonderful and the fresh raspberries were delicious.

2 nights at Poplar Grove Family Farm

This is a lovely, very private, well-kept campsite. It was blissfully quiet and well-equipped with a variety of power adapters, local tourist information etc provided. We highly recommend!

Join us on our family farm. Our third year hosting, we continue to enjoy hosting travelers from all over. Come join us and relax in the forest. Site 1 and 2 are drive-in sites. Site 3 is a tent-only site. Our newest Site 4 is a bit more open also for vans, campers, and tents, and we have a last-minute available Site 5 for vehicle camping. These sites will welcome you to recharge in nature. Dark night skies will open you to all the majesty of our solar system. Each standard campsite has a flat gravel surface suitable for tents, smaller RV's, shorter travel trailers, truck campers, rooftop tents, camper vans, and similar. Site 3 has a tent pad, well suited for cyclists or motorbikes. Small trailers up to 20 feet may be usable, but access may be tight. Please note, that while there is a campfire ban, camp stoves and propane fire pits are permitted. Easy access to Mt Washington and Strathcona Park, local beaches, rivers and more.

3 bed Cabin built on a bluff among the maples. Cabin includes 3 double beds. One is a private room and two up in the loft. Boat access only! Sonora island does not have a ferry. There are water taxi companies that can boat you from Campbell River to Owen bay. Once on the island it is a 2-3km walk down the main road (which is usually muddy if there was recent rain) to the cabin. No service and no wifi. Make sure you arrange your pick up before being dropped off. Guests need to be fit to hike up to the cabin. This is a unique fully remote and off grid escape that is not for everyone! Please reach out if you have any questions! Pack in your own bedding/ sleeping bags. 5 minute walk to our private gravel beach over looking the ‘Hole in the Wall’ rapids. Our water reservoir that collects from a near by creek, feeds the house. Boiling before drinking advised. Also included in the cabin is two wood stoves, Propane stove for cooking, hot water on demand and solar power make this get away completely off the grid.
