Brian is the host people want when they book a hipcamp site. He is invested in the site, actively improving upon the already excellent facilities, and takes the time out to make sure every camping opportunity is unique for each booking. We were greeted with fresh eggs from his farm as well as a tour and generous helping of tomatoes, jalapenos, tomatillos, and poblanos from his garden as well as firewood and s'mores ingredients. He has friendly dogs, cats, chickens, and we were even visited by nice young duck named Cornelius. We greatly enjoyed our stay and appreciated his knowledge of the area, as we were just passing through. We took his advice for the rest of our trip through South Dakota- cannot recommend enough! Two full bathrooms and hot, running water- at the price he's charging, we usually just get a field in someone's backyard and nothing else. Go here, and meet Brian, it's worth it.

Had the entire place to ourselves on a weekday, it was beautiful and there were TONS of places to hike around and explore. A lovely fire pit and so much cool scenery. Very, very cool place. Also the firewood is super cheap, 15 logs for 5 bucks.

Huge goat pen with 2 week old baby goats and several adult dwarf goats, all of which are very personable and affectionate. The chickens are much the same. We stayed near the pen (rooftop tent camping, camping area not accessible by car) and had no problems. Adam is super accommodating and willing to get in the goat pen and show you around and introduce you to the animals. It honestly just felt like being at a boarding house with all the different people, all of which are friendly and welcoming. Hard to beat running water and a flushing toilet when camping.

Patrick is a great dude and was great to meet with. His land is lovely and well kept, the facilities are clean and super nice compared to what I'm used to. The shower is insanely hot, but drains outside and will overflow if overused so I recommend being considerate for your fellow campers and taking reasonable showers/ turning off the water while soaping. There are a few camps great for families that are closer together, and some more isolated ones along the creek that are excellent for those who are a little louder like us. The fact that there was a shower made us much more comfortable with jumping in the creek to cool off, and we even took some inflatables in with the speaker to slowly drift down to the dam. We took a short hike to the dam, set up a speaker, and then came back and floated down to meet it. The water flows slowly but fast enough that we had surprisingly little bother from bugs. If you are a hammock camper and take the creekside camps, it's doable if you can hook one end to your car. The firewood is wonderfully dry and he even provided us with fire starters and a trash bag for the camp. This place is 15 minutes from the boardwalk/skywheel in Myrtle Beach as well! Had a great stay here and will definitely come back! Creekside camp has very sparse shade however, so make sure you plan for that!
