Location from Sydney
We are approximately 228.9km via Great Western Highway/A32 from Sydney CBD. It is part of the village known as Newbridge which is 3km from the property. It is an easy 30km drive to Bathurst and 50km to Orange with only 15km away from Blayney. La Pinata is also a short drive to Milthorpe and Carcoar - all lovely award winning quaint towns worth visiting where you can take in the history and enjoy great food and wine.
A great country escape destination! Even the Newbridge Train Station remains treasured by residents and fondly remembered as the stopover for Queen Elizabeth II during her 1954 royal visit!
Newbridge is fortunate to have a local pub, known as the Gladestone Hotel. A a restaurant serving modern cuisine and live music most Sunday afternoons (need to check with Pub for confirmation of entertainment 02 6368 1004). This is approximately 2.7kms from La Pinata!
The Property
La Pinata is circa 161 Ha (400 acres) in size. Altitude of approx 900m.
Over half of the land is clear, the land is mostly undulating with some steeper areas. There are 7 paddocks. Stock water is supplied by dams in all paddocks with a permanent Evans Plains Creek that flows through the property which is a wonderful spot for bushwalking. There is also a bore that provides water to our water tanks.
The Property also offers a pine forest, which is cooling on hot summer days, and in the colder months, it is a winter wonderland adventure. A perfect part of the property to do many things: picnicking in the wild whilst collecting pinecones, wildflowers or simply admiring the majestic views of the Fitzgerald Valley and the Blue Mountains over a glass of local wine and cheese.
The Barn Style Cabin
La Pinata, for a unique glamping experience, offers a barn style cabin dwelling with all the comforts of a home but with a rustic cabin experience.
A majority of the barn style cabin and its amenities have been built from recycled material, this includes the furniture which is mostly recycled or pre-loved. We are also using off the grid electricity and water supply.
It has 7 sleeping rooms with 1 ensuite and 2 Bathrooms. One of the 7 sleeping rooms has a cot.
It has a well-equipped open Kitchen with 5 pit stove, oven, blender, and toaster.
The open living area has 3 spaces to enjoy:
• 8–10-seater dining area
• 3-piece lounge area (TV, with Netflix and Foxtel)
• A study/reading Nook area
• Another area just off the kitchen is a lovely space where you can read or relax. We have also provided a dart board and other board games for those competitive nights of fun!
The barn has laundry facilities and wifi.

Ask the host regarding our Picasso Paint and Wine Experience at La Pinata for groups of 8 to 12 guests. It is a lovely way to enjoy the afternoon sunset with your group, enjoying your wine and painting! 4 weeks' notice required to coordinate.
Vale Creek Wines
At La Pinata we can organise a wine tasting experience. The winery is called Vale Creek, located approximately 23.5kms from Newbridge (Gladestone Hotel). Vale Creek’s Cellar Door provides tastings in a relaxed setting overlooking the winery. Their wines are from clones sourced from superior vineyards in Italy – www.valecreek.com.au.
The owners are delightful and welcoming. They are opened most weekends. The winery has many events occurring through the month and if it coincides with your trip, we will be more than happen to share the event with you and if you wish we can organise the wine tasting booking for you as well. Ask the Host about this item so it can be organised.
Driving inside our property. Our internal roads are constantly maintained whilst 2WD drive vehicles have come and gone from our place without an issue, it is recommended to use a 4WD vehicle.

Bathurst is known for motorsports thanks to Mount Panorama, one of the world’s most famous circuits. It hosts a number of international racing events, including the Bathurst 12 Hour and the Bathurst 1000. When it's not being used for a race, the public can take a spin around the course and visit wineries along the track.
Visit the National Motor Racing Museum, right next to the track. The Australian Fossil and Mineral Museum boasts a Tyrannosaurus Rex skeleton and the Bathurst Regional Art Gallery is home to a wonderful collection of Australian paintings and contemporary artworks.
Spend the day in Bathurst by seeing many of the amazing sites including the famous Ben Chiffley Dam and spend the day on the water and even a short drive to Rockley to visit the famous pub now owned by Matt Moran.
Bathurst has many local wineries and distillerys but make sure to head on over to reckless brewery.

Artisans Park is located 45 minutes from Bathurst and is the closest city for food and fuel. We do not have local shops or fuel stations.
The London bus is suitable for children as the upper deck houses the bedroom. The lower deck houses the kitchen and bathroom with a front deck complete with barbecue and amazing views.
Relax and watch the kangaroos and eagles from your private deck. Summer swimming in the crystal clear river and winter camp fires where you can toast marshmallows.
The lower level has a cooktop "no oven or fridge share fridge at entrance of park", outside gas BBQ and tables. You will need to bring your own drinking water.
There is a toilet and shower downstairs.
The top deck has two small single beds and one double, quilts and pillows however BYO linen sheets and towels.
This bus has featured on many TV shows and is often featured
in travel magazines, including

REVELSTONE MOUNTAIN CAMPS offers camping with fantastic views. Plenty of space to go for a scenic hike, lots of wildlife including kangaroos, rabbits and foxes. There are 14 designated camping areas to set up your camp, or why not try the Revelstone TEPEE TENT adventure, or maybe the TWIN HAMMOCK camp. please do not cut down or use any standing trees even if they look dead as they are a mountain feature.

Great time away at Artisans with the kids. 2 nights in the army hut, and 2 in the bus.
Best of both worlds - we got that off the grid feeling, being in the bush, making fires. But also you had a proper bed to sleep in.
Glenn put the generator on for warm showers and some clothes washing in the main building.
The bus was a lot roomier and warmer in the middle of winter as you could keep the wood fired heater on low overnight.

Tent was well appointed, cosy and warm (the diesel powered heater worked all night) and the campsite was thought out and well equipped.
Shower and hot water worked late at night and early in the morning!

La Piniata was a big hit with my family. Thank you Tara. We invited our daughters their partners and the four grandchildren for a long weekend away. Arrived the Friday night went to the Bathurst Show Saturday , spent Sunday at La Pinata , before heading back to Sydney on Monday.
All ten of us enjoyed our stay. The property is spacious , with plenty of room for everyone. The kitchen and dining area gives you enough room so you don't fall over each other. The kids (2 X 13yr & 2x 10yr) loved the animals - goats , camels etc. The west facing deck was a great spot to watch the sunset with a cocktail. Or take a five minute drive to the Gladstone Hotel and watch the football with a couple of beers , as I did with my son in-laws.
In all I would recommend La Pinata for a great extended family break .

Incredible view from this fantastically hand-restored bus. Details to discover all around (swings, traffic lights..) - we had a lovely time exploring all Glenn's handiwork.
Glenn was extremely helpful and welcoming and generous with his time.

We loved our stay at Glenn's London Bus. Our kiddo is already planning a return trip. We couldn't believe how well equipped the bus was for cooking but the star of the show were the literal stars. We cannot believe how stunning the view of the stars and galaxies and late rising moon were during our stay. Absolutely incredible. AND Glenn was such a gracious host. Hoping to be back some day.

What a peaceful experience we had at this quirky retreat. Our family reveled in the serenity. Well equiped - really like camping on a bus. Watching the full moon rise over the mountains was magic. Basic but all we needed.
