We are a wildlife sanctuary and an operating farm with horses, chickens, ducks, pigeons and a peacock. There are dogs on the property to protect the chickens and other animals from predators, so please don’t bring any pets of your own. Enjoy Sugar Beach Ranch with your horse, bring them along for the holiday, and plenty of beach and trail rides. Paddock accommodation available. As we are located in the secluded and sleepy cane fields of South Ballina there is limited access to shops, cafes, restaurants, etc. The Burns Point Ferry is the best way to get to us, it runs from 5:30am until 12.30am daily, consistently running back and forth. An approx. 8min journey each way and costs $.00 each way, payable by credit card only. So you can easily go into Ballina town for all shops, cafes, restaurants, etc. If the ferry isn't for you, you can drive to Ballina via Wardell on River Drive. The bungalow is located approx. 25m from the main residence, and the campsite is located approx. 300m from the main residence tucked away in the paddocks and forest. We are onsite and available if needed. Sugar Beach Ranch is an operating farm with staff onsite caring for animals and maintaining the grounds. All care is taken to ensure minimal disruption to guests.

Access to water and solar power on site. There are 2 domes available for up to 6 guests, with each dome including its own bathroom. Each dome has a queen bed and a single. There is an an outdoor undercover space including a kitchenette area, BBQ, sink, fridge, freezer, kettle, microwave & cutlery/crockery. Please note there is no oven or cooktop, only a BBQ. There are two hammocks and outdoor lounges to spend some time enjoying the view and time together. For those looking for a bit of adventure there is plenty to do in the surrounding area. Local attractions include: Whiann Whiann Falls- swimming hole- (5 minutes) Nightcap National Park, including spectacular Minyon Falls (30 minutes) Rocky Creek Dam, which has walks and a platypus trail (10 minutes) Eltham Hotel (15 minutes) The Channon Tavern and monthly markets (10 minutes) Bangalow Markets (20 minutes) Important information: Linen not provided. Doona, sheets, pillow tea towels needed. PLEASE NOTE: This is a "glamping" experience so insects and nature is a part of the experience. The tents are set on a concrete slab which is regularly sprayed however insects will still be around as the tents are set in the middle of the paddock so please be mindful of this. This property uses Solar Power (not connected to the grid) so please be aware of energy usage. All lights and general appliances are low energy and remain suitable for use over an extended sunless/cloudy period. If you drain the solar you will lose power and hot water. Both domes have aircon. The air-con cannot be left on. They were installed so if you have been out exploring all day and return to find a very hot or cold dome it gives you the ability to modify the temperature quickly. Once the dome has been cooled down or heated up (in our experience this takes approximately 10-15 mins) you can switch it off and use the fans provided if the evening is warm. If you leave the aircon continually running or forget to turn it off and go out you will lose power and the power will not return until the solar has had a chance to recharge the next day. There are 2 portable fans inside the domes and a fan for outdoor use for hot days. To reduce the impact on hot days the domes have rooftop curtains that should remain closed along with the front window curtains to keep the tents cooler. Guests have access to the entire 120 acre property. There is a gate for access to the paddocks beyond the dome fencing. The gate needs to be closed immediately after entering and exiting to prevent cows entering the dome area and causing damage or exiting onto the main road. You can stroll along the road until you reach the bushland on the far end of the property. We do not recommend walking through long grass on the property without protective footwear as snakes are known to live in the hinterlands region. Please be aware the driveway to the domes is not sealed. It is a gravel driveway. In the rain it may be slippery. Parking at the top of the property is recommended for cars that are not suitable for gravel inclines.

The actual measurements are: 1.13M wide & 2M long. There is also a separate king single-size bed, on the other side of the caravan, suitable for another adult, a child or two small children. All linen and bath towels etc are provided. The caravan is cosy, with a TV, stereo, fridge, sink, wardrobe & storage space. The property is not far from the beautiful bathhouses of Mullumbimby too ie Kiva Spa & Banya bathhouse We are a pet-friendly property. Weekend Trip to Trickling Waters Retreat

This place is a little slice of paradise! Perfect getaway with nothing overlooked! Cleanliness, amenities and communication were fantastic. It was lovely to have some time away with family and disconnect - played games, talked and lazed on our floats in the rock pools! I can see why it is called Trickling Waters and it was a beautiful sound to go to sleep and wake up too!!! Thanks so much Kat!

Loved Glamping at this camp, being surrounded by nature. Was such a beautiful property and so many little extra things made it that much more special, such as hot water for the morning coffee, hot showers, portable fans in the tent, etc.

Stayed in the huge glamping tent, a nice private site, with a beautiful shallow creek. We were surprised to have power in the tent with a large fridge and microwave etc. highly recommend for a couple's get away.

Lovely spot. The cabin was clean, new and had everything we needed. The hosts even had milk, eggs and berries in the fridge for us. WiFi was available. We didn't use the hot tub but it looked great. We were only staying as a stopover on a long trip but I would definitely recommend it for a longer stay.

14 nights at Trickling Waters Retreat

This glamping tent at Trickling waters was the most peaceful and calm place I’ve been in a long time. There really is a trickling stream! The buzz at dusk is a strange kind of deafening too (frogs, crickets, cicadas). I needed a place to decompress over the holidays and this place did not disappoint. All the privacy I needed but the hosts were just an inbox away if I needed anything at all. To top it off this place is dog friendly and the creek was a perfect cool off for mine!

Absolutely fabulous! Directions great. Van as described , clean, luxurious, fire wood and awning all set up! Steve came and made sure we were ok and had a beer with us. Most relaxed I’d been in months. Will be back !!

Perfect location ! Just what my wife and dog wanted. Very well equipped luxury off road caravan. Fabulous surroundings and relaxing. Fire pit provided and fire wood 👍. The pub down the road is superb with live music. Steve is great and very accommodating. Dogs welcome. Cannot fault and will be back 😀

Absolutely beautiful property! Ngaio was super lovely and accomodating. The cabin was comfortable and clean. Our dog had a fantastic time running free in the paddock and swimming in the dam. Looking forward to coming back when we’re next in the area.

We stayed at Barrachi Camp with a mate and honestly had the best time. It was the perfect little escape from Byron — so peaceful, private, and beautifully tucked away on the farm. Peter and Tania have created something really special there, a cosy cabin that feels completely nestled in nature while still being super comfortable. We loved the quiet, the privacy, and just slowing down for a couple of days. We’ll definitely be back, and next time we’ll bring more friends to share this gem. Highly recommend if you’re after a proper reset.

We had the best time here! The property is so well set up with everything you would need, and the facilities were so tidy and clean (Also, what a luxury to sleep in a proper bed while 'camping'!) The property and location is absolutely beautiful, with a short walk down to the creek for a swim (or kayak if you so desire) We were lucky enough to be there with no other campers so had the property and creek to ourselves - such a treat for the Christmas period when places are normally packed out!! Also, a big shoutout to Chris who is an absolute legend! We were there for a 40° heatwave, and then a massive thunder storm - Chris went above and beyond to make sure we were safe and comfortable through it all. I'm sure we will be back to check out the camp kitchen once its complete. Do yourself a favour and book in here, you will not be disappointed!
