Secret site is one of the best site I have ever been to as it is quiet, away from others and with great barrier with given you the best "secret" camping experience; while at the same time you can enjoy the perfect natural views surround at ypur camp site.

This place is nice if you don’t want a busy campsite. I am a regular and can’t stop going. Just like the simple set up with nothing to do except enjoy nature. Showers etc are very basic but clean.

Really nice spot. Nice view of the dam. Not too far from Boonah with lots of great places to go. Great camp site was full booked but still had space which was great.

Good place for a quick getaway out of Brisbane. Spacious piece of land and not overcrowded. Good amenities and access to the Lake for water craft.

Absolutely wonderful experience. The lake view was stunning and the whole atmosphere was incredibly calming — exactly what we needed. Clean, peaceful, and genuinely nice in every way. Would come back in a heartbeat! 🏕️🌅

Everything was great. The grounds are kept clean and mowed. Toilets and showers are clean and everything is topped up for the campers. Great view and the host is a very pleasant person and very helpful. Will definitely be coming back.

Great spot. Clean toilets and showers. The boat ramp is dirt and definitely needs a 4wd. We loved our stay and had heaps of fun.

Beautiful camping spot, clean and tidy grounds, hot showers with good water pressure, friendly host. Kangaroos, wallabies, loads of bird life. Had fun fishing off the banks (limited fishing spot due to the lily pads). Not on top of each other with other campers, adequate space.

Perfect spot for a camp! Access to lake, toilets and easy to get in with a 2WD van (weather was absolutely perfect mind!). Shady camp was great for our group, camp ground was well maintained and layed out, and enjoyed paddling and fishing around the lake all arvo. Spotted plenty of kangaroos and possums which my Canadian housemates loved. Highly recommend!
Note, only Telstra users had service but this wasn’t an issue since we had plenty of food, beers and good company :)

Great spot and even better that we had it all to ourselves for the week end. The caretakers left us alone to relax and enjoy. Sunrises were beautiful over looking the dam. Will definitely be back.

We stayed on the Lake View site. Thought it looked like the closest site to the lake - but 'Iron Bark' was just a smidge closer. Will stay on that one next time - but Lake View was great too. Obviously the site is above the Lake, so it is on a decline - but we were able to make it work and find the best spots for beds/cookers pretty easily.
The big tree on Lake View is dripping some serious amounts of sap so beware of that - and there are quite a few ants around the site too, but they didn't bite or cause any issue - and we had mesh flooring so all good there. Excellent 4G coverage for Telstra on the site - Optus and Vodafone basically had 0 reception as per usual.
The toilets and showers were really close by, and so clean and well equipped. Water was hot. Rubber mats provided for showers. Nice toilet paper in the toilets, not the bulk 1/2 ply stuff in public toilets.
Host had great communication before the trip and on arrival. Stunning property, very well kept, launching kayaks off the lake was a breeze. Caught fish. Saw a stunning amount of wildlife. Saw one possum but it didn't bother our food stores at all.
We will definitely be recommending this spot to others, and will come back again!

The place we originally planned to stay at was closed, so we came here at the last minute.
They treated us very kindly and were able to accommodate us with a same-day reservation.
She was truly kind and helpful.
The toilet and shower rooms were clean and well maintained, and at night we could enjoy a campfire while looking up at a sky full of stars.
We were very satisfied with our stay and truly grateful.

We stayed at the secret site. Was very peaceful. Kangaroos often stroll through. Not as close to the water as it seems but still nice. Great campsite and facilities

Lake view was a great spot to stay , plenty of room for ten people , the bass were plentiful , if you have kids I would suggest taking them for a fish down the bottom off the bank with a few worms or shrimp , the spangled perch go nuts down there and are super easy to catch

Pointro (Penthouse site) is an absolutely massive campsite with loads of space for multiple caravans. We had four vans and still had plenty of room, with mostly flat ground and a few gentle slopes to choose from. There’s also great shade under the trees for vehicles, swags, or just relaxing out of the heat while you set up red-claw pots, rig a fishing line or enjoy a beer with friends.
The toilets and showers are quite dated, but they were clean and the hot water was reliable. There’s also hot water at the outside sinks, which made washing up easy. One bonus we didn’t notice in the listing was the industrial bins provided for rubbish, which was really handy.
The only downside was the stairs leading down to the toilets. They appear to be rotting and felt unsafe, especially at night or after rain. Fixing these would make a big difference.
Overall, Pointro is a pleasant, picturesque spot with easy access to the lake and amenities. We’d definitely stay again.

Not as close to the water as I would have hoped.
The swimming area is a boat ramp ( not clean sand etc) lots of Karkhi weed, so kids would need shoes ALL the time.
Camp site was clean and tidy, showers a good.

Shady Camp
We saw a wide variety of wildlife, including many insects and wallabies, which made the stay feel very close to nature. Swimming in the lake was absolutely lovely, and the toilets and showers were very clean. You can really tell the owner takes great care of the campsite. It’s a place we would definitely love to visit again.

Upper Lake View
Amazing site with access to shower and toilet block. Easy access to the lakeside for swimming and to get boats in and out of water. Plenty of space at each site area. Surrounded by nature and gorgeous views! We had such a lovely experience and would definitely be back!

Fantastic site, it’s hidden away from the main area in a secluded site. Easily fit 2 cars, 2 tents and large tarp with space to spare. Just be aware you are 150m walk from the bathroom. There is also an ant nest in the camp zone so just make sure you keep any open food well sealed.

Perfect spot for camping. Booked it with only one other campsite taken, and it still felt extremely private as if we were in our own space. Owner was kind enough to lend a lighter since we forgot ours. The toilet was clean, and the lake had a surprisingly lukewarm temperature during a cloudy day in summer.

Nice grassy place, clean facilities with hot water, just have in mind that not every site has shadow from trees, like the one we picked, the ski club. Sites are big and not really that close to each other. I would say it is perfect for people with boats or jet skis, although you can hear the boats in the dam all day it is not that bad as the sites are not too close to the lake. We are definitely going back, planning already for winter, hopefully no flies during cold weather.
