The most peaceful site to go to within 2 hours of Brisbane. Absolutely remarkable views, gorgeous twinkle light setup and clean facilities that make it feel more like glamping than a typical camp bathroom!
The caretaker there is one of the kindest people you will ever meet, great for a conversation or will leave you to enjoy the tranquility if you prefer to stick to yourself.
I got the chance to see the horseback cattle drovers with all of their herding dogs one morning as well which was very cool!
My dog loved running around the site, sniffing everything and watching the cows free range on the massive property.

I visited this place again with my friends because the view is beautiful and the bathroom and shower facilities are great.
However, this time, from the very beginning, we were treated coldly. We were told to keep our dogs tied up, so we kept them restrained most of the time. On the day we were leaving, after we had packed almost everything, we briefly let them off the leash.
Our dogs are well-controlled and do not cause any trouble. Although it was our mistake to let them off even for a short time, the female owner started shouting at us, using profanity including the word “f***,” and raised her voice aggressively. With only 20 minutes left before checkout, she yelled at us to leave immediately, saying that the next guests would arrive within two hours.
We couldn’t help but wonder if this treatment was because we are Asian. From the start, her tone was dismissive, and we constantly felt like we were being watched. The entire experience left us feeling extremely upset and uncomfortable on our way home.
We will never return, and we sincerely hope no one else has to go through such an experience.

A great place to camp whether solo or with a small group. Lovely walk or short drive to lake. Superb views over lake and mountains. Has a shower and toilet and site is carefully maintained. Highly recommended.

It turned out to be such a romantic camping trip filled with wonderful memories.
It rained heavily starting the day before departure, so I contacted them, and they told me the place wasn’t affected by the weather, so we decided to come anyway.
We arrived on a rainy day and it rained a lot for the next two days. On the day we were supposed to go home, the sun finally came out, so we extended our stay by one more day.
It’s a place that is incredibly beautiful both in the rain and in the sunshine. The restrooms and shower facilities were extremely clean and perfect.
Since we stayed for three nights, it might have been even better if there had been a sink for dishwash, but it was still perfectly fine without one.
We truly had a happy time here.
We will definitely come back again.

We enjoyed it so much we came back. This is a gorgeous location. Plenty of space and having access to the dam is great for the afternoon dip and sundowners. The camp kitchen is next level. Hosts Annette and Christine are wonderful and really look after the facilities so every visit is amazing.

This is our second trip to the property and we love it. Annette and Christine the hosts are amazing and have created a beautiful property. The camp kitchen is amazing! So good to have access to this especially as a large group. We always have an amazing time here. Great for groups with kids as you have access to the water, so make sure you pack your kayak, or paddleboard.

We had a wonderful stay here. Beautiful scenery, quick drive down the hill to the dam for a swim every day, very peaceful and amazing amenities.

We loved camping at Lakeview Estate! It was peaceful, with the most beautiful views of the dam and a relaxing walk down to have a swim. The bar area with lights beside the firepit was a gorgeous, useful area. Our teens and adult children loved staying here. Christine, the caretaker, was friendly and helpful.

Loved my stay at Lakeview Estate. I had a great view from the Grassy site. With a wonderful sunset over the mountains.
Annette was a lovely host and instructions were clear on how to get to the campsite.

Good views of somerset dam. About 1km to the waters edge. The caretaker supplied yabbie pots.

We loved the site
Amazing stay! Loved the lake view, the lights around the campsite made it look stunning at night, and the fire pit was perfect for chilling out. Highly recommend!

Lakeview Is everything we thought it would be and more . The camp kitchen house is amazing and just bring your camp stove and you are set .
The views over the dam are sensational.
Plenty of room to set up and we took the whole camp and with 11 ladies each with tents and campers we had plenty of room to spread out.
Recommend taking your kayak or paddle board and heading out early in the morning to explore the dam.
Take some bait and try your luck with red claw using the pots onsite .
We loved every minute of our stay and will be back

It was a very quiet and relaxing spot for a mid week over night trip. The view of the lake made the perfect scenery.

We had the open grassy spot next to the shipping containers which was perfect for the wind and the view. The grass was lovely and the fire pit in a good spot. The site is not flat so need leveling ramps etc.

Walk to the Dam was well cleared and safe
Was great to have toilet and shower on site
Only thing was the one dog owner was not comfortable that came had to be on a lead as we were told there was bait on the property
Perhaps maybe not advertise a ‘dog friendly’
BBQ hut and lights were amazing
I would go again as we don’t have a dog

Nice spot, easy to get to, great views, nice hot showers with clean amenities. The fridge was super handy. We all had a great time (kids & dogs included) :)

Very enjoyable weekend and a great location. Excellent amenities. It is far enough away from the crowds but only 30mins to Esk. Would certainly consider revisiting at a future date.

The camp area was well maintained. The rustic shed provided under cover areas to relax, have a drink and prepare food. Great views down to the dam. The shower and toilet were very clean and close to the camp area. A shop about 15 minutes away sold the essentials. In all, we thoroughtly enjoyed it.
