We are a working cattle ranch, about a 10 minute drive on a gravel road off of HiWay #1. You’re surrounded by wildlife and outdoor activities just as you step out of the door. We offer lots of privacy. Each site has its own road off the main road so no one else will be driving past your camp. During most of your stay, you will think there’s no one on the ranch but you! We’re close to a golf course, about 40 minutes to Canmore, one hour to Banff, and 40 minutes to Downtown Calgary. Perfect for day trips for activities other than camping. Our cows are tame and curious, but not house pets - just be aware. Our sites are not fenced from the cows, so you will have all the sights, smells, and sounds that are associated with cows if they come to visit you. If they bug you too much, message me and I will come over to move them out. I also have a shovel at each site to help clean up cow deposits! We are not a commercial nor Parks campground, nor do we strive to be. If you are looking for site with garbage service, running water, etc., you won’t find it here. If you are looking for an off-grid site with a few niceties, tons of privacy, off leash for your pups, and free firewood, you will be happy staying at our ranch!

The Bend is totally revamped for 2025 with a new fire pit and picnic table plus has a gravel road encircling the site making it a pull-through site. It’s a fun site that is close to the main road, but far enough for privacy. The Bend is about 1 km walk to the lake and has views of our north meadow. You’ll often see deer and moose in the meadow. Road into The Bend is gravel right to the site.

The Meadow - Cabin, Bunkhouse

100%
(41)
Cabin · Sleeps 12 · 3 bedrooms · 7 beds · 1 toilet
Ten minutes from HiWay #1, this site has all you need - two room dry (no running water) cabin with kitchenette that sleeps 5 adults. There is parking and power for a RV, space for tents, and a hammock shelter which increases the sleeping space at no extra charge. Provided at the site is a picnic table, fire pit, outhouse, outside shower with shower bags, and reasonable amount of free firewood. Bring your own blankets or sleeping bags with a pillow and you’ll have a comfortable stay at a reasonable price! We are a working cattle ranch, and this cabin and site is at the ranch’s barn. Our house is nearby, but we usually go camping on other parts of the ranch during your stay so you will have lots of privacy. Site sleeps 16 total with the Cabin sleeping 5 and the Bunkhouse (booked as an Extra) sleeps up to 8. Other guests are welcome to pitch a tent or bring in a RV. This site is a great group camping site. Message me if you’d like to arrange larger groups over 16. Guests can hike to the top of our ridge and view the breathtaking scenery of the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains, or take a paddle around the lake in the canoe and listen to the Loons. Then there’s always the fire in the propane fire pit on the porch that takes the chill off while you watch the cows in the meadow! Great location for day trips to Canmore (40 minutes drive), Banff (1 hour drive), and Calgary downtown (45 minutes drive), or just hang around the lake and the ridge, or just watch the cows in the meadow. We ask that the camper bring their own bedding and carry out their garbage. We do include a couple of towels, lots of cookware, and some coffee/tea/water to help make your stay very comfortable. Two night stay minimum. Will consider requests made at least 24 hours ahead of your stay, maybe shorter - depending on what’s going on at our ranch. The Bunkhouse is an Extra when the Cabin is rented. The Bunkhouse sleeps 6 to 8 adults and has a few comforts like a refrig and microwave. Look for the Bunkhouse in the Extras when booking. Additional trailers and RV’s can be accommodated for $22/night up to a total of four trailers on site. Look for Additional Trailers in the Extras when booking.
