The camp ground is on a working lavender farm and farming activities may be happening. The lavender farm shop and cafe is open Friday to Sundays (closed February and Match) but campers can purchase lavender products on request. Transport to the Munda Biddi or Bibbulman Track is available. Camp fires in season (Usually May to September) and weather permitting. Breakfast Basket or BBQ packs available thee are cook your own we supply all the ingredients and tools

Wave Rock Short Stay

The Silos is located 2 km from the Hyden town site and 2 km from Wave Rock. Both locations are easily accessible by car or by using the walking/cycling trail. To access the walking trail please head back to Aylmore Road, turn right and when you reach the intersection cross the highway to meet the walking/cycling trail. Left will take you to town and right to Wave Rock. Please be mindful that our property neighbours a working sheep and cropping farm. Wave Rock is a granite cliff 15 metres high and 110 metres long. It’s rounded-like shape has been caused by weathering and water erosion which has undercut the base and left a rounded overhang. Water from the springs running down the rock during wetter months dissolves minerals adding to the colouring of the wave. In 1960, crystals from Hyden Rock were dated at being 2700 million years old, which are amongst the oldest in Australia. A 15 minute drive north of Wave Rock you will see a “giant” lurching out of the bushland. This massive granite rock formation is known as the Humps – grab your hat, sun screen and water bottle and explore! Be sure to visit Mulka's Cave. The name “Mulka” comes from an Aboriginal Legend associated with the cave. As you enter the cave (take a few moments for your eyes to adjust) and look at the walls and note the many hand stencils believed to representing adults and children. Close to Lake Magic, a large local salt lake, Denis Collins constructed a 20m round, 6m deep swimming pool-like gypsum pond whose buoyancy and therapeutic properties are greater than those of the Dead Sea.

Tutanning - Percy Marshall Research Centre

An important natural remnant of original fauna and flora in the Wheatbelt, this A class reserve is about 2,200 hectares, and encompasses the Dutarning Range. It is nestled among agricultural land, making it a vital fauna refuge. The ongoing vegetation research, monitoring and fire management ensure habitats are supported for the endangered Woylie, Tammar Wallabies, Numbats, Possums, and Red-tailed Phascogales. Bushwalking, bird watching, wildflower rambles, trail driving and spotlighting or just unwinding are some of the activities you can do. Short stays are available at the Percy Marshall Field Study Centre. This was built in 1963 as the first biological research station and living quarters. The Centre offers dormitory style accommodation (exclusive use of 1 room per family). Two rooms with single bunks only. 6 beds in one room, and 4 in the other. Self contained RV camping is also available, strictly for fully self contained vehicles only. Sites are all unpowered. It is natural bushland camping, all centred around the main facility. A sunset at the Willyabrup Cliffs is a truly magical experience and a bit of a hidden gem. The property is owned by a local winemaking family who can organise wine and a cheese platter to take the experience to the next level. Your hosts are more than happy to provide their personal recommendations for things to do while in the area. It is a 500m walk from a public parking space - a little bit rocky so best suited to those travelling light. Happy to chat with guests prior to arrival and will do our best to accommodate your needs. Something Different

Something Different is a large machinery shed that has been converted into a comfortable holiday house with three bedrooms and one bathroom (extra toilet outside) and huge living spaces. You can really kick back here and relax! The walls and ceilings have been extensively insulated. There is a wood heater in the kitchen and another one in the main part of the Shed so it can be kept nice and cosy despite its size! You can drive your car/van inside the shed if you wish or park it under any of the many surrounding trees. The Shed sleeps 10 in total (base price covers all 10), with 1 queen and 1 single bed in one room, 1 dbl bed and 2 single beds in another room, and 1 queen bed and 1 single bed in a third room. All linen, towels, etc. are provided. If you have more people, they are welcome to pitch a tent or park their caravan on the grounds around the shed. For a large group (say 10 plus) we charge an extra $20 (total) to cover the extra power you will need. There's a chook yard/dog yard with 2 kennels outside but you're welcome to have your dog (not chooks) inside the Shed. There is a general store just 2km up the road, ideal for essentials and a few supplies. 14km from Donnybrook 37km from Collie

All live in the wild and there is no guarantee that we will see them We grow wildflowers such as Proteas, Leucadendron , Leucospermum (pincushions),Banksias ,Eucalypt - Silver Dollar, and Cut Flowers - Osteospermum, Zinnia and Gladioli, Kangaroo Paw and Bromeliads. We also have our native species - Grass Trees, Zamia Palm and Golden Wattle .We supply local Florists with much of our produce. We also have fruit trees, chooks and a vegetable garden. BUSH STAY ACCOMMODATION is available and we have Two cabins. The Music Room Cabin for two people, and the Olivia Cabin which will accommodate up to four people. Both have TV,DVD, aircon, fridge, toaster, kettle and cutlery, plates etc. We also have a large comfortable Tent to accommodate up to four people. Set up for the real bush experience. TV, DVD ,table and chairs .Beds and mattresses,sheets ,blankets, pillows, and doonas can be provided or bring your own. Hear all the sounds of the bush at night! Check out the stars planets and the moon. The sky is so clear out here. Caravans are also welcome. One Powered site available. A toilet, shower and Barbeque facilities are available and our Fire Pit is ok to use in Winter and share some toasted Marshmallows. Local attractions include: Toodyay Emu Park, Archery Park, Avon Valley National Park and the Avon River, Paruna and Karakamia Wildlife Sanctuaries, Toodyay Townsite - Connors Mill,The Old Gaol and many other historical sites ,shops and restaurants. You can also visit the Swan Valley where there are many wineries ,pubs and restaurants. We sell Wildflowers and wildflower arrangements and check out our handcrafted wooden boxes.
