Only 15 minutes from Mount Martha village and Mornington, restaurants, amazing wineries, weekend markets, cafes and golf courses. We are 10 minutes from swimming beaches and 20 minutes from surf beaches. This is a 5.5 acre block, consisting of the host’s residence, garden and parkland. Polly's Paddock is half of the block. We offer 2 flat caravan sites, both with drinking water , 1 with limited power , the other no power. There is a site with a glamping tent set in the garden. The 6 metre round tent sleeps 2, with a queen size bed, linen provided. It is carpeted, has a fridge, kettle and BBQ. Just pack your toothbrush, clothes, food and drinks. All 3 sites have the use of a shared composting toilet. For a refreshing experience there is an outdoor, open air hot shower overlooking the dam. Close by is a spacious shelter/shed with tables, chairs and a rustic kitchen area with sink and heater. Well behaved dogs are accepted on the caravan sites, but we ask that you please discuss with us prior to booking. Dogs are to be kept on a lead at all times, wild ducks and the properties own poultry wander here. No dogs on the glamping tent site. Campfires are allowed during the cooler months, left to the hosts discretion for safety reasons. We supply a fire pit. BYO wood. No fires apart from in the fire pits provided are to be lit. Fires are to be extinguished before going to bed or leaving. Green, tranquil and picturesque. Kangaroos, wallabies, kookaburras and koalas often emerge from the rainforest of the Great Otway National Park near the campsites. You can swim or kayak in the unfenced dam, which is fed by a mountain spring on our 200-acre property. But please be aware that the unfenced dam is a drowning hazard for children, so we don't accept bookings that include children under 10 for public liability reasons. We've limited the number of campsites to 2 in an area that could host 200! If you would like even more seclusion, then you are welcome to book both sites so you can talk, drink and play music as late as you like, without having to consider another group of campers. This is a totally different holiday experience to a crowded beach resort, caravan park or public camping ground. It's like a hideaway in the hills. Each site has a flushing toilet (septic system). Campfires are permitted outside the district-wide fire restrictions that apply from late November to early May. Fortunately, gas or electric barbecues and stoves are permitted all year round, unless specific days are declared as total fire ban days. Please note that wood-fired barbecues or burners, even if enclosed and fitted with a chimney, still present a spark/ember hazard so are not permitted across summer. When campfires are permitted, guests can cut and gather their own wood from deadwood lying near the campsites or bring their own. Or you can buy sacks of cut and split firewood from your hosts on request. BYO newspaper and matches. Camping trailers and campervans work better on the sites than large caravans or motorhomes, especially after heavy rain. The sites are on slight inclines, so levellers can be useful. Green, tranquil and picturesque. Kangaroos, wallabies, kookaburras and koalas often emerge from the rainforest of the Great Otway National Park near the campsites. You can swim or kayak in the unfenced dam, which is fed by a mountain spring on our 200-acre property. But please be aware that the unfenced dam is a drowning hazard for children, so we don't accept bookings that include children under 10 for public liability reasons. We've limited the number of campsites to 2 in an area that could host 200! If you would like even more seclusion, then you are welcome to book both sites so you can talk, drink and play music as late as you like, without having to consider another group of campers. This is a totally different holiday experience to a crowded beach resort, caravan park or public camping ground. It's like a hideaway in the hills. Each site has a flushing toilet (septic system). Campfires are permitted outside the district-wide fire restrictions that apply from late November to early May. Fortunately, gas or electric barbecues and stoves are permitted all year round, unless specific days are declared as total fire ban days. Please note that wood-fired barbecues or burners, even if enclosed and fitted with a chimney, still present a spark/ember hazard so are not permitted across summer. When campfires are permitted, guests can cut and gather their own wood from deadwood lying near the campsites or bring their own. Green, tranquil and picturesque. Kangaroos, wallabies, kookaburras and koalas often emerge from the rainforest of the Great Otway National Park near the campsites. You can swim or kayak in the unfenced dam, which is fed by a mountain spring on our 200-acre property. But please be aware that the unfenced dam is a drowning hazard for children, so we don't accept bookings that include children under 10 for public liability reasons. We've limited the number of campsites to 2 in an area that could host 200! If you would like even more seclusion, then you are welcome to book both sites so you can talk, drink and play music as late as you like, without having to consider another group of campers. This is a totally different holiday experience to a crowded beach resort, caravan park or public camping ground. It's like a hideaway in the hills. Each site has a flushing toilet (septic system). Campfires are permitted outside the district-wide fire restrictions that apply from late November to early May. Fortunately, gas or electric barbecues and stoves are permitted all year round, unless specific days are declared as total fire ban days. Please note that wood-fired barbecues or burners, even if enclosed and fitted with a chimney, still present a spark/ember hazard so are not permitted across summer. When campfires are permitted, guests can cut and gather their own wood from deadwood lying near the campsites or bring their own. This is one of the best Hipcamps I have visited over the last couple of years. A beautiful setting with large amounts of space, a large fire with cooking aids over the fire. Tables and chairs provided. The powder room is second to none and a touch of luxury considering off grid camping. The museum artefacts spread over the property provide a walk into the past. Chris is a very helpful host and maintains the property to a very high standard. Easy access and a small town very close for supplies. Optus coverage is limited which for me was a positive A very peaceful and relaxing location.

The Retro Retreat boasts a spacious interior with a distinct retro theme. The house includes two bedrooms, a dining room, a lounge room, a kitchen, a bathroom, and a separate toilet. A large balcony runs along the back of the house, featuring comfortable lounge seating and a gas BBQ. An outdoor bath allows you to enjoy the night sky while listening to the sounds of nature. The deck overlooks a large backyard that extends to the hills and dam. Relax on the refurbished lounge in the Balinese gazebo, where you can watch ducks wander by and listen to native birds nesting in the trees. A fire pit and seating area make for enjoyable nights outdoors when the weather permits. Please note, the fire pit is not available during summer or when fire bans are in place. Guests have exclusive access to the entire house. We provide doonas, pillows, hand towels, and tea towels. Please let us know how many beds you require so we can prepare them accordingly. The cabins are converted shipping containers. Cabin 1 has a king bed, Cabin 2 has 2 double beds (bunk style) and a yurt (1 - 4 people). Shared facilities. Please do note the yurt does not have direct electricity and supplied are portable flood lights to hang in trees and inside. Charging station in the toilet shed or kitchen. The yurt is approx 150 meters from the cabins and very private. It has one super comfortable king and two single matresses. It's warm and so peaceful you will never want to leave. Mains water tap nearby. Pet fee $40 per stay. Please clean up after them. Capacity 1 - 10 people in the cabins/yurt.
