Ashlan is a working farm, and we also have an array of wildlife visiting. The property is a birdwatcher's delight, with a variety of species making the property home. If you like star gazing, you have found the right spot. We have no light pollution, so its the perfect place to take advantage of seeing the stars above.
Unfortunately, as we are a working farm, the property is not pet friendly nor do we offer any animal experiences., however you may be lucky enough to see our friendly (and crazy goats). They do like a pat and love apples and mandarins.
The cottage has three bedrooms and sleeps a maximum of six guests. Kitchen, wifi, laundry and BBQ.
All guests will need to supply car registration details. This will give you access to the property. There is CCTV located at the front of the property and going up the driveway.
We live onsite (in a separate house) if you need any assistance.
You will need to bring your own supplies (food and drink) as the closest shop is 20 mins away. However feel free to go out for Friday night Fish and Chips at the Strathbogie Store, or check out the great country pubs at either Euroa or Violet Town. Just watch out for wildlife on the roads. Access to the property is also via approx 2kms of unsealed road.
Ashlan Farm is 20 mins to Violet Town. Perfect if you wish to explore the Violet Town markets.

We own a small farm where you can go for great walks trying to see our platypus and rakali. There is fishing nearby. Hotels are from only 3km up the road if you wish to have a lovely meal out.
We have free range peacock, geese, hens and guinea fowl on the property. And possibly sheep, alpacas and a horse.
Pets are not allowed, unless on lead and by prior arrangement. (As above)

If you like star gazing, you have found the right spot. We have no light pollution, so its the perfect place to take advantage of seeing the stars above.
Unfortunately, as we are a working farm, the property is not pet friendly nor do we offer any animal experiences., however you may be lucky enough to see our friendly (and crazy goats). They do like a pat and love apples and mandarins.
The cottage has three bedrooms and sleeps a maximum of six guests. Kitchen, wifi, laundry and BBQ.
All guests will need to supply car registration details. This will give you access to the property. There is CCTV located at the front of the property and going up the driveway.
We live onsite (in a separate house) if you need any assistance.
You will need to bring your own supplies (food and drink) as the closest shop is 20 mins away. However feel free to go out for Friday night Fish and Chips at the Strathbogie Store, or check out the great country pubs at either Euroa or Violet Town. Just watch out for wildlife on the roads. Access to the property is also via approx 2kms of unsealed road.

We had a wonderful stay at Carol‘s and Peter‘s lovely farm! Thank you so much for everything!
The Campsite 1 was very large and offered both sunny spots and plenty of shade. Well-equipped Camp Kitchen and good Toilet/Shower.
The place was very peaceful, we loved the farm animals and listened to the beautiful singing of the birds all day long. After nightfall we were lucky enough to see the Rakali!
The hosts are very friendly and helpful people.
We highly recommend this place!

Weekend Trip to Eden Farm
We had a great camping experience at Gary’s place at Eden Farm. Gary warmly welcomed us, showed us our campsite, and explained everything clearly. He even shared some interesting insights about watching satellites, and we also got to watch him milk a cow which was a unique experience. The campsite had good facilities including toilets, showers, water, and bins, and Gary also provided a power cable to connect to the electric point. Overall, it was a wonderful stay and we highly recommend it.

We had such a wonderful stay at Eden Farm! My friends and I truly had an amazing camping experience at Gary’s farm. The place is peaceful, spacious, and perfect for anyone wanting to relax and enjoy nature away from the busy city.
Gary was a very welcoming and accommodating host, making sure we were comfortable throughout our stay. The farm has a beautiful, laid-back atmosphere that made our trip extra special, perfect for bonding, camping, and simply unwinding.
We especially loved the open space, fresh air, and calm surroundings. One of the highlights of our stay was enjoying the campfire at night and stargazing under the clear sky, such a relaxing and memorable experience.

We arrived on a 45 degree day, out of a car with no AC and windows up, thinking we'd be spending the day swimming in their creek and camping in the hot shade.
The creek is 30 cm deep and full of sticks and leaches - swims were not to be. But everything else far exceeded expectations. They were so generous and kind, welcoming us into their home and air conditioning, sitting with us for chats and painting watercolours in the garden, showing us their projects and animals. The farm is a delight. So picturesque.
They are artistic souls who seem to host out of a passion for connection, community and generosity in sharing their beautiful haven, rather than to make some cash.
We could have been happy their for days.

We loved our stay! Carole and Peter are so lovely and made us feel very welcome. We were greeted with a tour of the farm, fresh eggs and home grown veges. Peter took us out to see the stars one night too. The river site is picturesque and very relaxing. There were so many different and animals to look at and photograph. We also explored the local region and made trips to Benalla, Wangaratta and Glenrowan. If you want to get away from it all and relax, then this is a great place for you! 😊

What an amazing stay. The hosts were incredibly generous with their time and help. Lovely folk. Our grandchildren loved feeding the chickens and collecting the eggs. A tractor ride to feed the cows, long plays in the pool and much more. So much to do fairly close by too. Merrigum has a public pool, play ground, skate and water parks and a beautiful catch and release fishing spot Dunyak Moira. We did a drive to Echuca for a paddle boat ride and swim in the Murray River, then another day, a drive to Shepparton to see the MOVE museum, which blew us away. We didn’t get nearly all we wanted to do done in our time there. It’s fairly dry out that way at the moment but we still had lovely views from our caravan and amazing sunsets.

We stayed here for one night and found it to be a lovely, peaceful stopover. The site had power and water, which made it very comfortable.
Ian was really friendly and welcoming, and took the time to show us around the property. He shared some of the (white/early settler) history of the land and his plans for restoring it, which was really interesting to hear.
It was a quiet spot with heaps of birds around, making it a relaxing place to unwind. A great overnight stay that we’d happily recommend.

Carole and Peter are wonderful hosts. We stayed on site 2, which is elevated above the Broken Creek. This site is best for people towing a caravan. Site one would be a challenge to get into for people towing vans as it is down behind the homestead, by the broken creek. The amenities on the property were awesome (toilet, shower, washing machine).
This is our 4th Hipcamp stay, and we weren’t disappointed.
Highlights: The serenity, the farm animals, access to the Broken Creek, centrally located: 15 minutes to Benella, an hours drive to other regional centres.
