**Please be aware that for the month of November and December we will not be allowing camp fires due to risk to the crop. If no camp fire would be a disappointment (and we wouldn't blame you for being disappointed given the camp fire is the main activity!), you are best to book for outside this period. Our 300-acre off-grid property backs onto the Barmah National Park. This forest, together with the adjoining Millewa forest, forms the largest River Red Gum forest in the world - it's majestic to explore. Our property is just 500 meters from the Murray River. From your camp, roughly a 1 kilometre walk through the forest. On our boundary is Backwater Creek, which fills with water when the Murray River is up. NOTE: Creek is often dry. It has water in it after environmental flows of the Murray. This can happen several times a year and the water lasts a few months. If you have any questions about water levels please ask before booking as it might be dry when you're here. We're located just 5kms north-east of Moama, where you can hop aboard a paddle-steamer, visit waterside wineries and soak up rich riverboat heritage. We offer a few large, beautiful, basic bush camping sites (the best kind!) in amongst 50 acres of bushland, with 100's of meters and trees between you and other potential campers. The rest of our property is used for cropping and sheep. Campers must take out what you bring in. Mobile phone service and internet is usually reliable, though with long weekends and summer school holidays the service seems to disappear! Completely. We suggest downloading (before leaving home) your Spotify faves and Maps for this area then you can't go wrong. *Please feel free to book anyone in your possie that is under 18 as a child.

Smith x Willow is a 40 acre property located 10km from the country town of Murchison Victoria. The property is set within bushland and open farm paddocks on slightly undulating land. A small lake is on the property. We offer one large campsite, with ample space available for camping/caravans/motor homes to park up in quiet bushland surrounds. Shade is available on the site. Please note the small lake varies in size depending on rain/drought conditions. Swimming is not allowed but fine for a spot of fishing or for pets to have a dip. Wildlife and bird life on the property. Peaceful with minimal neighbours and no traffic. Bush roads for miles for bushwalking/bike riding. Waterways of Goulburn River, Nagambie Lakes and Waranga Basin within 10 to 30 minutes drive of the campsite. Campfires allowed in the designated fire pit during cooler months. Firewood is not provided but feel free to forage for timber/kindling around the campsite. If used, campfires must be supervised at all times. Fire pit is to be cleaned out on departure. Top of the Hill is an excellent location. Spacious, private, and has lots to explore. Perfect for a couple of families to come stay, spread out, and enjoy sitting around a camp fire together. I highly recommend coming and staying on Chris’ property and hope to come back again in the future!

Great site - wish we could stay longer. Kerry was very friendly and welcoming. Peaceful setting.. loved the big old trees, kookaburras and watching the squawking cockatoos with a cuppa by the campfire. We were the only ones there but there is enough space between campsites - I don’t think you’d hear or see them anyway if you’re looking for seclusion. Shower and toilet were great. Short 8 min drive into Moama if you need to pick up drinks/supplies, swim at Moama beach or go to the pub! Moama has a market on every second Sunday - worth a look if you’ve timed it well. Cheers

Kerry was so welcoming and wonderful! Even when I turned into the wrong property despite some very clear instructions! The campsite was rustic, quiet, full of birds (Sacred Kingfishers, Shrike Thrush and of course Cockatoos) and the odd roo popping in and out of view across the creek. But the shower - THE SHOWER!! - instant hot water, private setting and a lovely view from the little window; it was not just a shower, it was an EXPERIENCE! And after days on the road, completely needed. Then the campfire brazier at the site was so wonderful. There was ample wood to be gathered from the beautiful gums around us and the combination of crackling fire, birdsong and the sound of the wind through the trees meant I had a relaxing dinner, early night, a restful sleep and a beautiful morning wake-up. I will definitely come back the next time I pass by. I enthusiastically recommend Tooranie, regardless of whether you are after a quiet getaway or a place to bring the family. I only wish that I’d had longer to stay and explore!

We stayed a few nights and as we left my wife commented that she thought it was the best Hipcamp property we've ever stayed at. The simple fact that Ginette has kept it as a single booking site was appreciated and made it perfect. Loads of options regarding where to camp in a nice large cleared area, either in the open or by the shade. The outlook over the lake/dam was excellent. It was quiet and peaceful. A firepit and some wood was provided and there's plenty of fallen timber to collect on the property. Only fair that fires aren't permitted over the warmer months. Highly recommend a visit !
