You could ride though the forest for days and not see all of it. (Please note Motorbikes & Horses are not to be ridden on the property) the campsites are all shaded by gums and provide and excellent place relax by nature! RULES Campfires are welcome but only in the fire pits provided. (Pending Fire Resrictions) Pets are allowed off leash but if they chase livestock please have them on leash. The farm backs onto the Mt Alfred State Forest and is close to the beautiful Mitchell River National park. Mt Alfred is a fantastic forest with many great tracks to explore on horse back, mountain bike or on foot. Horses and dogs are welcome. There is plenty of space on a large, grassy flat area for camping and parking. There are paddocks for horses and a guide is available. The farm and surrounding bush is an Owl habitat and the property has an amazing abundance of bird life. It is just 25 minutes from Bairnsdale and the Gippsland lakes where you can explore the beautiful beaches and walking tracks. There are shops available for basic supplies within 10 minutes. We have a fire pit for you to light a campfire. There is a drop toilet and shower. Please take all rubbish with you on departure.

We are a working farm with cattle. The property features dense forest, sparse forest and open paddocks. The farm has calves which are hand fed, lots of birdlife, a dam for canoeing, and a pontoon on the dam for sunbaking. Our property is located close to Mt Baw Baw, 1.5 hours from Mt Hotham, and 40 mins to beach. Sit around the campfire in the evenings and enjoy a little star gazing. This campsite suits self-contained campers who bring their own camping toilet/shower. There is access to a drinking water supply. Tony’s farm is absolutely beautiful! When we arrived, Tony was very welcoming, and once we’d settled in, we had plenty of privacy. There was loads of space for our boys to kick the footy and ride their quad bike. I highly recommend Tony’s farm — it’s flat, completely grassed, and perfect for relaxing. You can light a fire (when restrictions allow) and unwind under the stars. The facilities are great too — there’s a drop toilet, a shelter with running water, and even a hot shower! The site is so accommodating, and we enjoyed every moment of our stay. Thank you, Tony, for welcoming us and introducing us to your beautiful horses, sheep, and of course, the friendly doggos!

We loved camper trailer camping at Tony’s farm. It was so peaceful being next to the State Forest. The views were stunning, the facilities (shelter, bbq, picnic table, fire pit, hot shower and toilet) was amazing! Tony is super friendly and gave us great tips on what to see on the area. Our three pups were very welcomed and even met Tony’s horse. We look forward to staying again.

Gorgeous spot that backs on to a State forest where you can walk for days. Camp kitchen with running water and gas bbq, composting drop toilet that doesn’t smell at all, gas shower with view of the large pond. Tony and Sarah were great hosts and gave us a run down of everything and things to do in the area when we first got there. 😊 Our dog was very welcomed aswell. We spent time walking and catching up with friends in a nearby town and unwinding. Utter perfection. Highly recommended and would definitely visit again.

6 girls and 6 horses had the absolute best time! Tony was the ideal host and showed us beautiful trails out in the Forrest! The facilities were clean and the paddocks for the horses nice and safe. Jake's Hut was a great spot to spend the weekend camping. The fire pit was great to cook on and the indoor fire kept the hut nice and cosy on a cold night. Close to Port Albert and Port Welshpool for fishing, exploring and letting the dog 🐕 run on the beach. Would recommend.

Pete's place was really wonderful and peaceful. Exactly what we were after to break off our crazy stress from our lives in the city for a few days. If you are lucky you will see a man harvesting the honey bee hives at the farm and you will be able to buy delicious honey. This man is not Pete, it is someone else that lives in Stratford and just comes to harvest the honey bee hives The description says potable water available. Well yes water is available at the little house next to the camp site but certainly not potable. It was good only for a camp shower or cleaning the dishes

A wonderfully appointed site in a beautiful spot. Plenty of space with well draining places to pitch your tent. The hot shower and the lean-to kitchen were amazing luxuries. So great to be able to go for walks with the dogs every morning through the forest and to enjoy the dusk symphony of birds, frogs and insect from the adjacent wetland. Our dogs had a blast tearing around the field. Tony is a lovely host, clear with communication and gives really helpful local knowledge and suggestions of things to do. The nearby watering hole was gorgeous. Can't wait to come back!

I think this was our sixth time at Jake's Hut. We love it here and so does our dog. It's lovely and peaceful. The indoor and outdoor fires are a huge bonus too. We had a huge Goanna visit us this time which was rather special. Communication is always great with Steff and Dylan and the directions are very easy to follow.
