There are separate campsites available. Rodborough Vale is 600 acres with a combination of creek flats, native bushland and rocky volcanic outcrops. A working sheep property with some cropping, It is home to the well known Rodvale Border Leicester Stud. Farming in harmony with the native fauna and flora, guests may be able to spot many native species including platypus, wedge tail eagles, kookaburra and many more.
Fronting Deep Creek, guests have access to fishing or just sit and listen to the crystal clear water meandering past the campsites. The farm borders Tullaroop Reservoir which is only a ten minute walk from most campsites, there you can find public toilets and picnic areas it is well known for its fly fishing for trout. The boat ramp is around 400m from the front gate and guests are welcome to leave vehicles and trailers on the property for convenience.
Note : The reservoir is currently only open to electric powered boats and canoes.
Dogs are welcome but must be very well behaved around sheep. Flushing toilet available at the shearing shed. Good access for caravans and large RV's.
Amplified music is not allowed.

Spectacular sunrises and sunsets create beautiful reflections on the water in the numerous dams on the property. Rainfall can restrict access to some sites on the property.
The city of Bendigo is 25mins drive. Epsom is a 15min drive where you will find a shopping centre which includes a petrol station, Woollies, Pizza, Chemist Warehouse, Aldi, Brumbys Bakery, Reject Shop, Fish and Chips and BWS. Lake Eppalock is a 25min drive where you can engage in water sport activities. The Campaspe River is 10mins away.
The farm is very quiet and restful with the sounds of abundant native bird life and provides great subjects and scenery for the photographic enthusiast. Loud, party groups with music at high volume are not permitted. Chainsaws and motorbikes are also not permitted.

Our property, "Seven Hills Tallarook", sits high above Tallarook with deep valleys and high peaks, just over one hour North of Melbourne's CBD. The property is 600 acres of thick Victorian bush and farmed paddocks.
We have a wide range of hobby farm animals - pigs, sheep, alpacas, chickens, ponies, a donkey, along with commercial heard of South African Boer Goats. As night falls, the wildlife come out to play - kangaroos, rabbits, deer and wallabies.
Internally, we have in excess of 10 kilometers of roads within the property, the majority being 2WD accessible (weather conditions apply). There are parts of the property which are only 4WD accessible.
Our campsites are placed to allow you to be as isolated as possible - away from other campers (you may see others as you drive past, or they drive past you). At some of our bush sites, you will be able to see other campers, but they are not close by.
Additionally, we anticipate our Fire Danger Period for the 2025/2026 Summer Season will commence in the coming weeks. We have not toggled the Fire Ban on as we do still allow campfires, however campers MUST adhere to CFA guidelines at all times. On days of Total Fire Ban (TFB), no fires, including gas stoves can be lit outdoors. In event of the TFB toggle needing to be used on Hipcamp, this will advise all guests booked on that day and to all future guests. We will toggle it off once the TFB is removed. Furthermore, we reserve the right to ask you not to light a fire regardless of TFB status if we feel weather conditions are unsafe, especially the wind element. We cannot plan the weather and the request to not light your campfires will most likely be on the day and we will advise as such. For those with horses - we have a secure paddock with a dam and 20m round yard for horses to be secured overnight. The rail trail is a short 5 min drive where you can float your horses to and enjoy a scenic ride with your companion followed by a meal at the Trawool Estate or Tallarook Pub!

The Bendigo region offers many attractions including the Sandhurst Goal Tour, Golden Dragon Museum, Central Deborah Goldmine , the Bendigo Pottery and of course the Vintage Tram Tour that show cases the best of this beautiful city.
There are over 20 vineyards and wineries in the region, including Black Wallaby Wines, Blackjack Wines and Connor Park Winery with most wineries run by the families who founded them.
There are plenty of opportunities for prospecting in the area, the region has been famous for gold for over 150 years. Visit the Coitek Gold Centre in Maryborough for special maps suggesting areas most likely to produce nuggets, or book a tour while your there to learn the art of detecting with an expert.

Jess was very good at communicating with us, her directions were spot on, and she made sure we were up to date on CFA alerts, having range at the site was a big plus. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at A Place We Call Home. It was the peaceful getaway we were looking for, and the kids loved the kayaks and plenty of room to ride their bikes. The other sites were far enough away that you didn't feel on top of each other.
We met both owners on separate occasions and they were both super friendly towards us and the kids, even involving the kids when checking yabbie nets.
I would highly recommend A Place We Call Home to others couples or families looking for a peaceful time away.
