The Whip Stick Forest campsite is located on the outskirts of Bendigo. This is an ideal place to take a break away from it all. Peace and tranquility surrounded by nature. We are just far enough away from the town to offer the outdoors feel and close enough to town to enjoy sightseeing, and many outdoor activities and access to shops, fuel and most of the usual shopping needs.
Here you will find a nice open space amongst the gum trees with drinking water, toilet, and outdoor shower.

Relax under the stars with a warm fire in a secluded spot in the middle of open space and the fresh air.
The property is fenced off, so you can feel safe and secure. You can relax and let the kids can run around knowing they are safe inside the camp ground.
There are 5 dogs here, our dogs love people, they will welcome you with barking and wagging tails. They are all friendly and spend most of their time up at the house.
They may visit you from time to time.
Lily the Rotwieller is only 12 months old and very playful and loves to chase a ball around the paddock
She has a thing for shoes, so please make sure they are always hidden away.
Along with anything else you don't want a naughty puppy to make a meal of.
Only minutes from town where you will find supplies, close to the local swimming pool and 10 minutes from a popular watering hole.
Bendigo and surrounding areas have a lot to offer, check out

Perfect for star gazing the Milky Way and Nebulas.

Our property, "Seven Hills Tallarook", sits high above Tallarook with deep valleys and high peaks, just over one hour North of Melbourne's CBD. The property is 600 acres of thick Victorian bush and farmed paddocks.
We have a wide range of hobby farm animals - pigs, sheep, alpacas, chickens, ponies, a donkey, along with commercial heard of South African Boer Goats. As night falls, the wildlife come out to play - kangaroos, rabbits, deer and wallabies.
Internally, we have in excess of 10 kilometers of roads within the property, the majority being 2WD accessible (weather conditions apply). There are parts of the property which are only 4WD accessible.
Our campsites are placed to allow you to be as isolated as possible - away from other campers (you may see others as you drive past, or they drive past you). At some of our bush sites, you will be able to see other campers, but they are not close by. Most site will take multiple vehicles and caravans.
Additionally, we anticipate our Fire Danger Period for the 2025/2026 Summer Season will commence in the coming weeks. We have not toggled the Fire Ban on as we do still allow campfires, however campers MUST adhere to CFA guidelines at all times. On days of Total Fire Ban (TFB), no fires, including gas stoves can be lit outdoors. In event of the TFB toggle needing to be used on Hipcamp, this will advise all guests booked on that day and to all future guests. We will toggle it off once the TFB is removed. Furthermore, we reserve the right to ask you not to light a fire regardless of TFB status if we feel weather conditions are unsafe, especially the wind element. We cannot plan the weather and the request to not light your campfires will most likely be on the day and we will advise as such. Our interest is with your safety, our neighbors and our property and our family.

This is BYO bedding to keep the price affordable but still with all the comforts. Nestled in a little valley. Lots of wildlife, beautiful walks and a swimming hole is just up the road.
The site is off grid but still has 240v via a battery and inverter setup and all the other creature comforts including a well setup outdoor kitchen with BBQ and sink. The bathroom is close by with hot shower and flushing toilet and is shared with one other site. There is wood heater inside the tent. Just bring some bedding and your set to go for a fantastic relaxing few nights in the bush.
In the cooler months, we will leave some Firewood, lighters and matches inside the tent for the fire box however wood for outside fires is BYO, there’s plenty of kindling and sticks on the property to collect.

We had such a lovely overnight stay at Cozy Pozy Van in Kinglake! 🥰
The Fowkes tiny van was cosy, thoughtfully set up, and equipped with all the essentials we needed for a comfortable stay. We also loved that it’s pup-friendly, and our Leo had such a great time too! 🐶❤️
It was quiet, peaceful and relaxing, and the beautiful weather was an added bonus. If you’re looking to escape the hustle and bustle of the city without travelling too far, Cozy Pozy Van is such a lovely little retreat.
We really enjoyed our stay and would happily come back again! 🌿✨

We had the most amazing stay and couldn’t recommend this place highly enough. It was the perfect getaway to relax, unwind, escape the busy work routine and spend some quality time together as family.
The cabin was surprisingly comfortable and had everything we needed for a peaceful stay. Our 3 kids absolutely loved exploring, and even our dog, Zeus, had the best time! It was also such a treat to see cows, sheep and goats just over the fence which added to the beautiful country atmosphere.
The generous supply of firewood was more than enough to keep us warm throughout our stay, making the cool evenings by the fire more enjoyable.
Rachel and Rocky were exceptional hosts. They were friendly, welcoming, helpful and their communication was excellent.
This was exactly the break we needed. We will definitely be recommending this place to family and friends and can’t wait to come back ourselves!

loved our stay here, the cabin is cosy with a great wood fire heater and owners supplied wood for the entire stay.
the cabin has great sleeping facilities, and although rustic and off the grid, is fully kitted with what you need. Webber outside and portable gas fire cooker worked perfectly. owners have lights and candles throughout, got water for cleaning up and shower. perfect getaway.
we stayed in the middle of winter, outdoor firepit looks incredible, just too wet during our trip to enjoy.
while staying, you have complete privacy, and feel like you have your own slice of the bush, wildlife all around.

Our family had a wonderful stay at Maple Park Farm, and our puppy was just as welcome as we were! The glamping tent exceeded our expectations, it was spacious, modern, immaculately clean, and very comfortable.
The kids especially loved gathering around the fire pit each evening, meeting all the friendly farm animals, and collecting fresh eggs every morning, which was such a memorable experience.
Although our stay was cut slightly short due to an unexpected electrical issue, Michael and his wife responded quickly, were incredibly accommodating, and resolved the situation as best they could. Their hospitality and genuine care really stood out.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily return for another visit in the future.

1 night at Mountain Flower Farm
I had a wonderful night in the Cozy Pozy Van. I was greeted by a friendly goat and then started a campfire for a relaxing evening overlooking the Flower Farm. The van is well equipped and in a perfect location. The stars were amazing and so was the service. Highly recommend. Thanks Tamara and fam!

Weekend Trip to Mountain Flower Farm
My stay was perfect. The van was exactly what I expected, clean and cosy. Tamara was lovely and very respectful of privacy for those of us really needing to switch off socially. The other campsites a good distance away. Cute friendly animals and beautiful flowers. Fire pit close by van and easy to use. Clear instructions. Easy to find and access the property. As a solo woman exploring I loved being on a secure property with a warm cosy van for winter and really quiet surrounds to relax. I’ll be back with my kids for sure!

3 nights at The Forest Cottage- Trentham
I loved my time staying in the forest cabin! Kelly was great with communication leading up to and during my stay. He had even started the fire early so the place was toasty and warm on my arrival - such a nice touch! Walking the tracks nearby and at Lederderg were stunning, especially with the wintry rain falling all around. The local town of Trentham was also nice to explore. I highly recommend the scotch fillet steak at Pig and Whistle! My personal highlight was watching a wallaby outside my window as we both ate our breakfast. So peaceful and relaxing - just what the doctor ordered. See you next time!

Weekend Trip to Lower Widecombe Medieval Cottage
We had the most amazing stay in Delldint’s Medievil Cottage. The building itself is impressive and the hospitalty even more so.
The property was quiet with birds and kangeroos hanging around. The cottage has an amazing open fireplace and kitchen with everything we needed.
We're looking foward to returning next winter.

We had a lovely stay at Tamara’s camper van. It has everything we need and the dogs are happy too. I like seeing the high trees and the fog from the windows, there’s plenty of natural light from the caravan.
Tamara is kind and gracious. Thank you for the extras.
Tips driving from Melbourne, it will be easier to go via Whittlesea to avoid the windy road climb.

We had such a lovely stay at the Cozy Posy Van at the farm. The van was super clean, cozy, and had everything we needed to feel comfortable and relaxed.
Tamara is an absolute star host and made us feel so welcome from the moment we arrived. You can really see how much care has gone into creating such a special little getaway.
The farm itself is beautiful and peaceful, making it the perfect spot to switch off and unwind. We genuinely loved our stay and would happily come back again. Highly recommend!

Weekend Trip to Weemalah Cabin & Camping
loved this beautiful and relaxing spot to stay! so cosy and enjoyed the hot tub on a cold night then by the fire! afterwards was perfect to enjoy a movie in bed with some peace and quiet. anne was very lovely and welcoming!
even got to explore some of her property down by the swimming hole and viewing spots!
