What stood out most was the beautiful pond, perfect for kayaking and spending quiet time on the water. The setting felt calm and inviting, and it was easy to settle in and enjoy the surroundings. Melissa’s hospitality made the experience even better. She’s warm, helpful, and genuinely welcoming, which adds so much to the stay. Future campers can expect a peaceful spot with great water access and a host who truly cares.

A lovely quiet spot with great facilities, adjacent to a national park.
It was a lovely spot ...the hosts where great , letting us stay a extra night ...it was nice to have a fire, go mountain biking and just relax...will definitely go back ... Anthony and Melinda
We had a lovely stay at “A Place We Call Home.” It’s such a peaceful, welcoming spot and the perfect place to switch off and relax.
Everything was thoughtfully set up, and the surroundings are beautiful. You can really tell a lot of care has gone into creating such a special space.
We left feeling refreshed and would happily stay again — highly recommend!

We had a lovely time camping at ‘a place we call home’. Campsite was spacious and a good distance away from other sites. It was also a hit for the kids to kayak in the dam, thanks for having us Melissa and Josh

My fiancé and I had the most wonderful stay. The hosts were so welcoming and thoughtful. The atmosphere was peaceful and perfect for a relaxing getaway. We can’t wait to come back!
Perfect for a quiet, relaxing weekend away, close enough to enjoy all that Bendigo has to offer - far enough from everything to sit and watch the stars.
We loved this place, it was so peaceful and relaxing. We watched kangaroo’s hop by and the birds were singing.
This property is central to all suburb’s either side.
Melissa and Josh popped down to check in and we had a wonderful chat.
We would highly recommend this property.

Plenty of space and a good place to camp up outside of Bendigo. Sadly they need a lot of rain, it was very dry and dusty. There was water in the dam. Tidy camping area that we will go back to.
Loved my stay there both melissa and her husband were so helpful and gave some great places to go and see. The weather was really hot but still enjoyed my shortend stay will come back again.

Beautiful and comfortable space. Open and private sites. Very well set up for all styles of camping. Super friendly hosts. 10/10 for this one 👍
We thoroughly enjoyed our time at A Place We Call Home. It was the peaceful getaway we were looking for, and the kids loved the kayaks and plenty of room to ride their bikes. The other sites were far enough away that you didn't feel on top of each other.
We met both owners on separate occasions and they were both super friendly towards us and the kids, even involving the kids when checking yabbie nets.
I would highly recommend A Place We Call Home to others couples or families looking for a peaceful time away.

Lovely quiet property just out of Bendigo, great spot to explore the area. Owners are super friendly and helpful.
Great spot, very quiet ,good size camping areas, close to town but I will be booking site 2 or 3 next time as they have grass n site 1 is on dirt n having kids it made it a little dusty around camp
This was a nice site - flat and good for tents where we were, the other sites were pretty rocky just fyi.
Super friendly hosts, lovely bush outlook and great location just near Bendigo.

We enjoyed our stay. The children loved using the canoes. Very peaceful and quiet spot.
If you plan to be there on hot days we would recommend Site 1 that has a some shade.

This campsite has just saved our getaway weekend to try our new foldable kayak. I initially booked a campsite somewhere in Wurdiboluc but was so disappointed when we arrived, not only was so dirty but we felt so unsafe and immediately left! Thank God we found this place, A Place We call Home, and took us in even for a last-minute booking. Melissa was so kind and helpful and even accommodated our very short notice request of firewood. She even refunded my second night booking because we left at night. I have not encountered a host as kind as Melissa.
The campsite is a gem, well maintained and clean! It’s complete with amenities like kitchen and water (for washing), kayaks and paddles, and massive firepit with grill and swivel stand for cooking. Although we did not use it because we have our own, it was nice to see a campsite with these bonuses! We enjoyed the dam for our kayak. Most importantly, we felt very comfortable and safe throughout our stay. Surely, we’ll recommend to our friends who are campers too!

Very peaceful spot. The fire pit was great. The dam was lovely and my husband had a go on the paddle board.
My family and I enjoyed escaping to this slice of paradise over the long weekend. Family were very inviting and friendly. Land and amenities were very well kept and natural. Camp blocks were a generous size with plenty of room between if all were full up. We will look forward to returning any chance that we get! Highly recommend if your looking for a place to stop, reboot and get grounded.

We had a wonderful stay at Melissa and Josh’s farm. They were very accommodating and welcoming. Their children were so friendly, and my kids had the best time playing together. Their puppy is absolutely adorable! We really enjoyed paddle boating, exploring Bendigo during the day, and relaxing around the campfire in the evenings. Such a lovely family and a great experience.
We had a fantastic time at A Place We Call Home this weekend. Melissa and Josh were absolutely lovely and incredibly accommodating. The land was beautiful and peaceful, and the kids loved exploring around the dam and playing on the flying fox. Thanks so much, would definitely recommend!

Melissa was easy to communicate with and prompt. Directions were clear and easy to access with our caravan. We stayed mid winter so we weren't able to use the dam, fires (raining) etc. The property is beautiful and tranquil, just what we wanted.
Great location with visiting kangaroos & plenty of birdsong. Unfortunately we arrived in wet weather so did not really get to enjoy what the site had to offer but we’ll be back to enjoy the tracks in the reserve next door. Loved meeting Melissa and learning about their work to encourage the wildlife in the area. We had the place to ourselves so we could choose which of the sites we preferred. We chose site 1 which was closer to the trees. The site came complete with a fire pit & an outdoor setting suitable for a couple.

Stayed 3nights as doing activities in the area, if you’re wanting space, peace and quiet then it’s for you, the site is in early development with lots of young trees so is a little open, but will be lovely in years to come. Easy to find and hosts very accessible and friendly.
Fantastic spot, close to Bendigo but peaceful and quiet. Loved the open fire and the space. Would highly recommend.
