If you're looking for a quiet, private nights stay in your motorhome, caravan, tent or swag, then look no further. A private property of 30 acres, surrounded by the bushland of the Lockwood State Forest. Tucked away in a very quiet tranqil location, you will have nothing but privacy and piece and quiet. The perfect time of year to enjoy camp fires and the great outdoors. A Place We Call Home offers you the perfect night's stay to relax and unwind before your journey continues. We can also cater to larger groups and private events. We have recently installed a camp kitchen and bbq facilities for you to enjoy. Our property is the perfect place to enjoy gold detecting, bush walking, bird watching, bike riding or just some well-earned rest. The property has direct access to the State Forest with multiple walking/bike riding options and gold-detecting opportunities. There are also kayaks on the dam for our guests to enjoy. Only 15 mins from Bendigo and local wineries, and 1.5 hours from Melbourne. All guests must be completely self-sufficient including toilet, water, and power. The Bendigo region offers many attractions including the Sandhurst Goal Tour, Golden Dragon Museum, Central Deborah Goldmine , the Bendigo Pottery and of course the Vintage Tram Tour that show cases the best of this beautiful city. There are over 20 vineyards and wineries in the region, including Balgownie Estate, Black Wallaby Wines, Blackjack Wines and Connor Park Winery with most wineries run by the families who founded them. There are plenty of opportunities for prospecting in the area, the region has been famous for gold for over 150 years. Visit the Coitek Gold Centre in Maryborough for special maps suggesting areas most likely to produce nuggets, or book a tour while your there to learn the art of detecting with an expert. We hope to see you soon.

The owners were so friendly & accommodating. Loved the peace and quiet, on clear nights the star gazing was amazing no light pollution, yet only 25min to town.

Melissa and Josh are lovely. This was our first Hipcamp stay and it didn’t disappoint. I think we had the best of the 4 sites - but if you couldn’t get site 2, site 1 would be my next choice if you like your privacy. Access to potable water was great and Josh came through and lit a fire a couple times during our stay. Is close to Bendigo for day trips.
