We are just far enough away from the town to offer the outdoors feel and close enough to town to enjoy sightseeing, and many outdoor activities and access to shops, fuel and most of the usual shopping needs. Here you will find a nice open space amongst the gum trees with drinking water, toilet, and outdoor shower. rubbish/recycling bins and access to wifi if needed. Relax under the stars with a warm fire in a secluded spot in the middle of open space and the fresh air. The property is fenced off, so you can feel safe and secure. Especially Daz who will be your best friend while you stay here. If you don't like dogs you probably shouldn't stay here as Daz loves people. Only minutes from town where you will find supplies, close to the local swimming pool and 10 minutes from a popular watering hole. 4 nights at Whip Stick Forest

Lovely safe flat mowed grass area with a central communal shed for shade and some trees. A great place for children. The power was great with extra long leads to borrow so you can take advantage of most areas on the property. Taps for drinking water. Nicely tucked away from the roads and private from the house but very convenient with the shops less than 3 KMs away. So nice to be next to the State park too with a private gate so you can explore the old gold mining area very easily. The shower and toilet were clean and a definite bonus. The many friendly dogs, cats and birds would delight children. A lovely spot. Recommended.

We stayed at an unpowered site. Bit tight on space with our large tent setup and annex but the managers were very helpful in allowing us to park our car elsewhere. Clean and neat facilities and being next to the botanical gardens was a plus. Kids enjoyed the facilities and being a long weekend, us adults enoyed the special coffee and cocktail van. My family stayed here over the cup weekend. We had a great time with the kids loving feeding the animals and fishing in the dam. The camp area was very clean with fire pit and a bin plus a water tap. The host Anneke was absolutely amazing. She was so friendly and kind. With only a short drive into Daylesford the location was great. Highly recommend and we will be back.

Fantastic setup for large groups, fully equiped kitchen, great BBQ area, interior of the hall looks freshly painted, plenty of trestle tables and chairs provided to set up however you like. Kids playground and a large oval, we kicked a footy around, had a hole in one chipping comp and a treasure hunt for the kiddies in the treed area around the oval.

Excellent location and close to everything, open space with the sounds of country birds. Facilities were close and very clean, able to drive in and out with ease anytime. We had no requirement for power re use of solar power on the caravan roof. Plenty of space and room for a log fire if required.

Weekend Trip to Lalgambook Retreat

We loved the waterfront campsite at Lalgambook Retreat! The view across the water is beautiful and we loved daydreaming out on the little jetty. The bathroom facilities make the camping feel luxurious, while still secluded in nature – the best of everything. We saw lots of wallabies and had a kookaburra spend an afternoon at our campsite with us. The sounds of frogs at night and birds in the mornings made for peaceful sleeps, far away from it all. We had planned on going for walks in the local area but the property is so big and brimming with stunning bushland that we didn't need to leave the whole weekend. The artistic metalwork around the property including seating arrangement overlooking the water and fire pit are a really nice touch. David and Karen are kind and welcoming hosts. We feel very lucky to have discovered this gem near Daylesford and are grateful to them for having us stay. We would love to stay again one day and even stop by Hepburn Bathhouse, just down the road, on the way in next time.
