My little 6 acre farm is located in Wedderburn within minutes of some of the best Gold prospecting country. Relatively flat land with rock solid ground, so bring good hammer for tent pegs!! There is a good sized dam stocked with yabbiez, for catch and release entertainment only. Not much grass or shade, although a few nice spots under shady trees to relax after a day out digging for treasures. Plenty of good tracks close by for dirt bikes or horse riding. Own yards need to be provided at this point. Wedderburn has all that is needed for supplies, fantastic cafe and takeaway, lovely country pub and quality little supermarket with decent bottle shop. Just 1.5km away. Property is not suitable for children or pets as I have many kangaroos visiting, livestock and the dam is a hazard for children!! *note..........WiFi is no longer avail

The 2WD-accessible camping spot facing the dam is easy to reach. With only one campsite available, it's nice knowing you won’t have other groups right next to you. We didn’t get to use the canoe, but it’s there for guests to enjoy. You’ll definitely experience some wildlife during your stay. We had a very busy but respectful kookaburra keeping us company the whole time, and plenty of happy wallabies and kangaroos hopping around. In warmer weather, if you go for a bushwalk, be mindful of snakes, and you may also see flying termites arriving at sunset. Karen and David were very welcoming. Lalgambook Retreat is the perfect spot to enjoy a true camping experience while still having easy access to a hot shower and a clean flushable toilet just a short walk away.

Our second stay at this amazing property. Many sites to choose from, our favourite is the wetlands. Trudy and James are so hospitable and extremely knowledgeable about the wildlife on their property. Private, peaceful, great walks, wild life and fantastic hosts. We’ve stayed at many amazing hip camps, this one is by far my favourite. Cannot wait to visit again.

Weekend Trip to Korweinguboora Rec Reserve & Hall

We really enjoyed our stay at this lovely hall and reserve. The place is peaceful, clean and surrounded by beautiful nature. The hall had everything we needed, and our group felt very comfortable throughout the stay. The playground, open space, and quiet environment were perfect for a relaxing getaway from the city. The hosts were very helpful, friendly, and clear with their communication. We truly appreciate their support and care for the property. Highly recommend this place, and we would love to come back again.

4 nights at Whip Stick Forest

Lovely safe flat mowed grass area with a central communal shed for shade and some trees. A great place for children. The power was great with extra long leads to borrow so you can take advantage of most areas on the property. Taps for drinking water. Nicely tucked away from the roads and private from the house but very convenient with the shops less than 3 KMs away. So nice to be next to the State park too with a private gate so you can explore the old gold mining area very easily. The shower and toilet were clean and a definite bonus. The many friendly dogs, cats and birds would delight children. A lovely spot. Recommended.

Weekend Trip to Lalgambook Retreat

Karen and David's home at Lalgambook Retreat is magical. Nestled in a valley adjoining old gold mining settlements and the Dry Diggings section of the Great Dividing Trail it's a haven for anyone that loves nature, walking or just relaxing in a peaceful and tranquil environment where flora and fauna abound. Directions were perfect and access to the property easy with a little care. The final section of the descent into the valley is a reasonably steep but well formed drive and we managed it easily with our 8m 3.2t caravan and Landcruiser. The waterside site is easy to reverse into, is treed but with plenty of sun for solar power, and overlooks a large dam with a swimming platform. Karen and David have provided everything to make a stay more comfortable - bathroom with warm showers, bore water at the site for washing and a fire pit. We loved our 2 night stay here and could have stayed longer to take in more of the local walking. We walked to the nearby Chocolate Mill for coffee and visited the Daylesford Market and a local winery for lunch. A perfect weekend.

2 nights at Wetlands - Gatjin Dja

This is a truly beautiful location. Over 200 acres of revegetated bush land with a variety of places to pitch your tent or park a caravan in absolute privacy. Directions and access were easy. Trudy and James’ commitment to their land is clearly evident with so many gentle touches to make our stay comfortable. Flora and fauna abound. We walked the length of Gatjin Dja, and to the top of neighbouring Mt Korong with its spectacular views. Also a visit to nearby Melville Caves and the friendly town of Wedderburn. Thankyou for a wonderful 2 day stay!

Weekend Trip to Kindness Knook

Even before you arrive at the Kindness Knook you know it's going to he great from the communication you receive from Windsor. The camp itself is so sweet, lots of options for activities including kayaking, walks, basket ball, mini golf, and checking out local wildlife. Windsor is also very thoughtful, providing information on local attractions. The wood was cut and the fire lit. The bathroom was spotless and the shower was hot! Cannot recommend this stay highly enough. This is also a very disability accessible friendly camp. Whole a wheelchair might struggle with the incline to the bathroom, there is a ramp and most of the camp is flat. The camp is meticulously maintained.

Our second Family camp there over Melbourne Cup weekend at Korweinguboora Reserve. It's an amazing place to stay for large groups. A big bonus having the hall for the rainy days. Fun nights around a roaring camp fire. Highly recommend.

Weekend Trip to Castlemaine Gardens Holiday Park

We stayed at an unpowered site. Bit tight on space with our large tent setup and annex but the managers were very helpful in allowing us to park our car elsewhere. Clean and neat facilities and being next to the botanical gardens was a plus. Kids enjoyed the facilities and being a long weekend, us adults enoyed the special coffee and cocktail van. Would recommend

Weekend Trip to Yeramba Sunset Camp Site

My family stayed here over the cup weekend. We had a great time with the kids loving feeding the animals and fishing in the dam. The camp area was very clean with fire pit and a bin plus a water tap. The host Anneke was absolutely amazing. She was so friendly and kind. With only a short drive into Daylesford the location was great. Highly recommend and we will be back.
