Bern Denham was one of the three original entrepreneurs in the 1920s who were the first to take tourists by torchlight to see the little penguins’ nightly arrival on the beach. Aireys inlet is a unique tiny town with so much to do. The local beach is iconic for surfing and swimming, the local creek is a favourite at the inlet for young kids to swim or for canoeists to have somewhere quiet to paddle. Mountain biking is a must in the area, with thousands of tracks available right outside the back door. If you have your own horse you can bring it along on holiday with you, we have paddocks available and there are so many gorgeous tracks around to ride on and beach riding at low tide and the right times is a bucket list item! The location itself is 17 acres and is next to the Painkallac creek in a peaceful bush setting. This location used to be a horse riding school which is now not running but has been converted to offer camping, caravan and RV parking. It’s only 1.5 km from the beach and the Otway national park is right on your doorstep. If you have bikes, horses or love to hike or run, or just laze on the beach, it’s a perfect location, be ready to be spoilt as there are so many tracks on offer in our stunning local beach and bush land. The local town of aireys inlet has plenty to offer, a general store for all your essentials, loads of places to eat out for breakfast, lunch or dinner and only 1 3/4hrs from Melbourne. No need to stress if you don’t want to be near anyone else, this is a small setting so it’s very private and its only got one space to rent so that you have peace and quiet. If you do have friends and want to book a double space please just message me and I can open up another space for you. We camped just after summer school holiday peak season and we had camp 3 too ourselves with lovely views of the bay and islands. You do need to be completely self sufficient but if you are setup for that this is perfect camp. Quite a lot of birdlife and plenty of wallaby's around.

Beautiful outlook and absolutely ideal location to get between churchill island or woolmai and the circuit by FOOT. Tracy was super amending to packs being left and picked up later, check in easy and touch and go particularly given we got in and got out early. Thanks for having us!!

Weekend Trip to Banksia Park Estate

I booked my campervan for the weekend and stayed the whole week!! Banksia Park is a beautiful place to stay full of birds and wildlife and overlooking wetlands and Churchill Island. Tracy and Greg are welcoming and informative and the well maintained sites are spacious and open, great for solar and reception. Just walking around the property is a pleasure and with plenty of stunning hikes and mountain biking trails close by to choose from. Top the day off with a reward at the Chocolate Factory next door. What more could you really want for an island getaway? 😃

Lovely well maintained spot, wished we could have stayed longer. Tracy responded quickly to messages prior to booking. Checked on us once we were set up to make sure we were happy. Walking distance from the New Haven shops. Great views over Churchill Island & beyond. Swamp wallabies at the bottom of the property intrigued the boys but the horses were a favourite with them. Definitely recommend this property.

We have just stayed in one of the Garden View sites. We had the garden to ourselves. Sitting atop the rise with distant water views the hum of the main road faded into the background. With Woolamai Beach so close it was a delight watching the sun set over the water. Would come back again if we are in the area.
