Mollongghip Menagerie - Daylesf

Come and enjoy Mollongghip Menagerie, where you'll enjoy the clean, fresh air and the peace and quiet. There are native animals including kangaroos and birdlife. There is also a variety of farm animal around, including chickens, sheep, cats and a Labrador.The property is located in Mollongghip. Mollongghip is a rural village immediately west of the Wombat State Forest. It is 18 km south-west of Daylesford and slightly less south-east of Creswick.Campfires are permitted, pending local restrictions. A metal fire pit is provided, campers will need to byo firewood - wood can be bought locally.Suitable for self contained campers.

Hidden Valley House, Anakie

Hidden Valley House is nestled in Anakie, VIC, set within the scenic Brisbane National Ranges and only a 1-hour drive from Melbourne CBD.  

Taking into consideration our ethos around sustainability, the cabin is “off-grid” so solar powered with a composting toilet but with all the amenities you need. The cabin has spectacular views overlooking the valley with an abundance of wildlife and has a small creek and several caves which have formed over millions of years.  

As well as the cabin, we offer a camping area to larger groups that need overflow accommodation if the cabin is not big enough. This makes Hidden Valley House a fantastic option for large groups wanting to have all the comfort and amenities of the cabin, but experience the back-to-basic joy of camping in nature. 

Set on an 18-acre property at the start of the Brisbane National Ranges, it is home to koalas, kangaroos, echidnas, sugar gliders and an abundance of birds including eagles and kookaburras.  Furthermore, the land is protected by Trust for Nature and Land for Wildlife offering long-term protection for many ecosystems, species and native wildlife.

The property is surrounded by national parks and is only a short drive from charming, historical towns such as Meredith and Steiglitz and only 25mins to Geelong. A number of family-owned wineries are located nearby and within Victoria’s Moorabool Valley winery.

Rodborough Vale

There are separate campsites available. Rodborough Vale is 600 acres with a combination of creek flats, native bushland and rocky volcanic outcrops. A working sheep property with some cropping, It is home to the well known Rodvale Border Leicester Stud. Farming in harmony with the native fauna and flora, guests may be able to spot many native species including platypus, wedge tail eagles, kookaburra and many more. 

Fronting Deep Creek, guests have access to fishing or just sit and listen to the crystal clear water meandering past the campsites. The farm borders Tullaroop Reservoir which is only a ten minute walk from most campsites, there you can find public toilets and picnic areas it is well known for its fly fishing for trout. The boat ramp is around 400m from the front gate and guests are welcome to leave vehicles and trailers on the property for convenience. 
Note : The reservoir is currently only open to electric powered boats and canoes.

Dogs are welcome but must be very well behaved around sheep. Flushing toilet available at the shearing shed. Good access for caravans and large RV's.
Local attractions are the historic towns of Maldon, Clunes, Avoca and Dunolly all part of the Central Goldfields.

Island Bend. Another day in paradise. Private, secure and very peaceful.

Penzance Bushland Retreat

Hi there and welcome to our home, Penzance! We fell in love with our slice of heaven in 2010 and adore every back breaking inch of it. It was an over grown mess at the time, covered in broken bricks and beer cans.  We've tried to keep the bush aspect while creating a park like surround with plenty of grassy space. We have big plans for our land and hope to build a steam museum in our other area over the creek. Excitingly, we will also be establishing a blacksmiths forge in that area, which was moved piece by piece from an historic farm at Avoca.  Chris is an engineer, antique restorer and artisan working from home. I am an actor and artist working in metal, clay and paint. I'm inspired by my flower garden and the bush that frames it. 

We offer one site so privacy is assured.  Larger groups can be accommodated, please enquire if you'd like to learn more.

10 minutes down the road you'll find the quaint village of Talbot. The town retains a number of historic buildings from its prosperous gold mining days. Some of the old shops which line this street are now home to speciality businesses, including a clothing boutique, bookshop and homewares store. The restored London House building in Scandinavian Crescent operates as a cafe and visitor information centre and is surrounded by an attractive community garden. At the corner of Scandinavian Crescent and Fyfe Street is the Talbot Pioneers Memorial Playground with BBQ and picnic shelters. A  farmers  market operates in  the town streets every 3rd Sunday of the month.

Maluridae Regenerative Farm Stay

One of the first things we noticed when we found this piece of land was an abundance of tiny blue & brown birds popping around everywhere, especially down by the creek. Superb Fairy Wrens. We thought they were so delightful we named our soon to be family farm after them, Maluridae.Maluridae is a holistic farm, we all have our part to play on the land in its’ restoration & regeneration.We are at the beginning of our farming journey, we have our momma cows & alpacas, our first plants have gone in for the food forest & clearing years of woody weeds along the riparian zone of the creek has begun. We have a few locals living with us, a platypus or 2 in the creek, wallabies, honey eaters, rosellas, wagtails, tiger snakes, blue tongues & even a giant hair I’ve named Harry who reminds me of Alice in Wonderland.Our goal is to regeneratively graze our cattle to sequester carbon & bring life & nutrients back to the soil, producing next level beef. Our alpacas will provide fibre for our family & for us to sell, but really they are the for the cuddles & incredible poop (for composting). Our food forest will provide for our family & the community, there will be an opportunity for people to visit & learn about what we’ve achieved along the way &  takeaways from our mistakes.We anticipate 5 years to be fully functional & expect to be carbon neutral by then as well.
