There are separate campsites available. Rodborough Vale is 600 acres with a combination of creek flats, native bushland and rocky volcanic outcrops. A working sheep property with some cropping, It is home to the well known Rodvale Border Leicester Stud. Farming in harmony with the native fauna and flora, guests may be able to spot many native species including platypus, wedge tail eagles, kookaburra and many more.
Fronting Deep Creek, guests have access to fishing or just sit and listen to the crystal clear water meandering past the campsites. The farm borders Tullaroop Reservoir which is only a ten minute walk from most campsites, there you can find public toilets and picnic areas it is well known for its fly fishing for trout. The boat ramp is around 400m from the front gate and guests are welcome to leave vehicles and trailers on the property for convenience.
Note : The reservoir is currently only open to electric powered boats and canoes.
Dogs are welcome but must be very well behaved around sheep. Flushing toilet available at the shearing shed. Good access for caravans and large RV's.
Amplified music is not allowed.
Local attractions are the historic towns of Maldon, Clunes, Avoca and Dunolly all part of the Central Goldfields. Pyrenees Wine region is a short drive away.

First off, Paul is an absolute gentleman and was easy to deal with. His hospitality was above and beyond. The campsite and amenities were great, clean showers and flush toilets, although we didn’t use the BBQ, there was one there. The camp sites were very spacious, could easily fit multi people/tents setups. It was a very peaceful stay and enjoyed the scenery, especially with the occasional visits from the goats. Also, about a 20 minute drive to Ballarat. Highly recommend the camp to anyone thinking of it. Would definitely stay again. Thank you again Paul to you and your family.

Thank you Paul for a wonderful stay! The campsite was beautifully decorated, had everything we needed! Had multiple visits from some goat friends! Paul and his family were such welcoming hosts! My friend and I felt very looked after! The site felt private and the wildlife about was so wonderful! Would absolutely 1000% camp here again and will be recommending this spot to many people!

A quiet, private camping spot which was very dog friendly. We had the whole property to ourselves so we could let the dogs run around off lead. There were picnic tables and a firepit with lots of firewood around, plus a grate that you could cook over and a rain water tank with plenty of water. Communication with Ian was easy and friendly, would highly recommend staying here. One thing to note is the ground is quite hard so not the most suitable for getting pegs in. Apart from that, the place is perfect for camping!

Second time at Roxborough Vale, first time at Sandy Flat. Great spot with ample space between sites and plenty of shade by the creek.
Easy walk to the bluestone barn. .

Another great stay at Rodborough Vale - this I think is our 8th stay - 2nd at the Spillway.
Weather was perfect, Mark was a great host and it was so quiet - the only sound were the birds and sheep. Just about to book for our next trip.

We got really good directions on how to get to the campsite. From the entrance, we felt super safe due to security measures at the site. Shortly after arriving at the site, Nathan brought us the firewood we asked for and a fire bucket to put out the fire. He offered us a fresh water as well. So, I guess if you'd need anything, all you need to do is ask
The views were pretty great too. It's sort of on a high section, where you could see the 360 view. There's little to no light during night, so it is so easy to see stars. It's a pretty cool site.
If you're planning to stay in a tent on the ground, I recommend site 1 since there are few extra trees that blocks the wind a bit. Site 2 is not bad, it was a touch difficult to put us the tent due to heavy winds the day we went.
Around 7-8, when the sun was going down, there were a few Kangaroos around the site. Checking us out.
And there was plenty of space for our puppy to run around. Had a great time running around. The 9m leash we had was clearly not enough. I guess we could have easily used a 15-20m leash. There was quite a bit of space there.
Overall, pretty good place. Highly recommend!

Island bend is a great site, plenty of space, existing fireplace and the river is accessible for a dip. The night sky is incredible. Really great spot for our Christmas camp.

Lovely place to stay. Other campers were around but they weren’t too close and weren’t noisy. Lots of cute animals and birds around. Easy access to the creek. Would stay again :)
