The water is pumped from a springfed dam and mostly gravity-ed.
It's a little like McDonald's Farm, an array of birds and animals.
There's an orchard, hothouse and a Raspberry patch which may be my favourite spot when they're fruiting.
It really is an amazing lifestyle, peaceful, relaxing and rewarding.

Mount Gnomon Farm, near Penguin in North West Tasmania, is a scenic, family-owned farm known for sustainable practices, local produce and beautiful rural views. Camper travellers will find both powered and unpowered sites in a peaceful, green setting. On Saturday you can join us for dinner and on Sundays for lunch, you’re welcome to book via our website.
Visitors can join a farm tour, enjoy fresh paddock-to-plate meals at the on-site restaurant, or wander through the gardens and sunflower fields. The farm also has its own cider orchard and produces handcrafted cider, with regular markets, long-table events and other gatherings.
With its quiet atmosphere, great facilities and strong focus on nature and local food, Mount Gnomon Farm is an ideal stop for anyone exploring Tasmania by camper.
Weekends can be a bit busier, as our barn is available for hire for events.

Ladybug Hipcamp was a perfect getaway for us. The sites are large, well grassed and level. They are also well positioned to ensure privacy, have proper fire pits and even have cute mood lighting. Peter and Kim came and said g'day with the kids who brought Easter eggs. A genuinely lovely experience. Definitely recommend this Hipcamp.

Beautiful forest setting, with creek right next to site. Very well organised camp where Kim and Peter and two kids were excellent hosts. Both of us and our dog has a relaxing time in a highly recommend camp ground. Thought has gone into design of the campground, the toileting facilities and even the trolley to get equipment across the creek. We even saw ladybugs

Great spot, quiet next to the river and great to pull up a chair and have a fire. Couple of smaller river trout jumping about in the arvo. Bathroom was great and very clean. Would definitely go here again!

Such a beautiful place to spend a couple of nights unwinding and taking in some fresh air with the kiddos. This was actually our second time here, and are very confident this will become our go-to regular camp-site of choice! The facilities were well maintained and tidy. ☺️

Stayed at Cradle Mountain Fishery & Campground and had a great experience. The site was really clean and well maintained, which made settling in super easy. It’s also very easy to find, even if you’re not familiar with the area. The free WiFi was a big bonus too—especially after a long day outdoors. Overall, a comfortable and hassle-free place to stay, and I’d definitely recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

This idyllic riverside campground is set amongst gums, backwoods and wattles on a mostly flat and grassy area fenced off separately on a working farm. The hipcamp information you are sent is incorrect. You DO NEED A CODE for the access gate. Message owners while you have internet coverage to obtain the code. The rustic shower/toilet block has a double hot water shower and flushing toilet - much appreciated after camping off grid with long drop toilets 😀. Bring your own toilet paper. The WIFI was not working, but that didn't worry us too much. The campground has fire pits for camp fires, but you must bring your own wood. We enjoyed our 2 night stay.

Had a great time camping here!
It has a calm and peaceful atmosphere, which made the whole experience very relaxing.
I expected the toilets to be pretty dirty, but they were actually quite clean for portable toilets, and the smell was well managed.
The dishwashing area is quite small, and the dish soap wasn’t always available, so I’d recommend bringing your own or doing the dishes after you get back.
The staff were very friendly and made our weekend even better.
I’d definitely come back!

Camp-site #2 at Peter and Kim's ladybug Camp ground was perfect for our little getaway. Alot of time and effort has been put into these Camp-sites to make sure its the ultimate relaxing camp. The outdoor movie is a must!!! Everywhere you looked there was something magical, the split of bushland one side and rainforest the other has something gor every nature lover.. a dip in the falls is also a must!! Peter was an amazing host showing us what there is on offer and sharing his knowledge.

The main campsite area had an amazing view of Mt Roland. The facilities were a bit of a walk from the campsite but were excellent! We got to meet Marleen and Ronald and their dog and they were all super lovely! We had a great experience!
