Our main campground has 10 sites and is accessible for standard cars. The main campground has level grassed campsites measuring 6m in width and 19m in length (Sites 2 - 10) Campsite 1 is the larger site and measures 10m in width and 19m in length and sits seperate to the other sites a little closer to the road. Price advertised is per site, per night for 2 people. Campfires permitted in designated area within the main campground only and when restrictions aren't in place. Firewood is provided. Leven River Camping On Wattle Farm: Your Wilderness Escape Discover Leven River Camping at Wattle Farm, a tranquil retreat nestled on the edge of the wilderness, where the river and forest greet you at your front door. This naturally forested 100-acre property is a haven for abundant native wildlife, offering an idyllic escape into nature. When you book, you'll secure a site within one of our designated camping areas, with the freedom to choose your exact setup spot upon arrival. We offer two main areas: "The Big Paddock" (left of the road) and "The Little Paddock" (right of the road). The Big Paddock is ideally suited for smaller campervans, tents, swags, off-road caravans, and camper trailers. Here, you can set up anywhere within its bounds; pitching your tent among the trees or along the river is perfect for a truly immersive experience. An approximately 3-acre clearing is also available by the river. For easier access directly from the road, The Little Paddock is an excellent choice. While suitable for smaller vehicles, it's also ideal for larger caravans. This area offers approximately 5 acres of clearing right beside the river. Both paddocks are conveniently located just before the bridge and provide ample open space for outdoor activities like frisbee or cricket. Natural Surroundings & Activities: Leven River Camping borders the Dial Range Nature Recreation Area and a Nature Conservation Reserve. Our sites are set on lush, green, fern-filled river flats within a sometimes misty forested valley, cradled below Mt Duncan and Mt Lorymer. The surrounding area boasts popular hiking and mountain biking trails. The Leven River itself is a highlight, offering some of the best trout fishing in North West Tasmania. You'll also find perfect spots for kayaking, along with private river beaches where you can relax, paddle, swim, or enjoy a picnic. Access to the property is via a very scenic 4km, well-maintained gravel road that winds downhill to the base of the valley. Important Information No facilities are provided on-site. Rivers Edge is 24 acres of forest on the banks of the Leven River in Gunns Plains, Tasmania. We are in our own little valley surrounded by tall forests. Preston Creek flows all year through our property and meets the large Leven River where your campsite is situated. Perfect for trout fishing, platypus watching, bird watching or catching the sun setting through the trees on the river bend. There are even the endangered black fresh water crayfish. The site is large enough for up to 5-6 caravans for large bookings, and we only take one booking at a time, so its exclusively yours. We are only 20km to the nearest town, Ulverstone which as everything you need. The road is close by the campsite with easy access to find the property. No toilet facilities at the site. Sat TV is good and limited mobile reception. Telstra works best we've found. River access over a rocky, uneven embankment as it's a natural, untouched environment, just how we and the native animals like it. Campfires ONLY PERMITTED when fire restrictions aren't in place. You absolutely must make sure your campfire is fully extinguished before you leave. Please check "My Trips" (in your profile) for directions once confirmed. Look for the 'Rivers Edge' sign on the entrance gate, then you know youve got the right site and not the neigbours property (which is along side mine on the river) Well behaved dogs are welcome but must be kept with you at all times, no roaming dogs as the road is close by. We love the peace and serenity here so please no unruly behaviour or parties.

Andrew, who greeted us on arrival with some of his girls eggs and a load of firewood that lasted our three days and then some if needed, has a delightful spot for enjoying exactly what Tasmania has to offer. The river and yes platypus were spotted, birds, fish and beautiful smells that make relaxation and admiring nature possible. Whilst the weather wasn’t in our favour we still thoroughly enjoyed it and went for bush walks around his property. Close by is wings wildlife park or a little further caves and waterfalls. Loved our stay and thank you for sharing your beautiful spot.

Adam was a wonderful host. Clear directions & we were very happy with our site. Only 2 sites & we were lucky to have this beautiful area to ourselves. Dogs loved the access to the water, mingling with the calves & the grassed area to run around. We made this our base & found the locals friendly while supporting the town (only mins away). Would definitely recommend for any size. Great level areas with enough space & a bonus, is the views. Thanks again for sharing your beautiful farm with us!

Awesome site right on the river, the sun disappears pretty quickly in the arvo and the rays don’t hit you in the morning until about 9. Andrew is an awesome character, supplied me with enough wood for the 4 days to keep us warm. Couple of good trees close enough to string some hammocks together. Really enjoyed our time there to reset from the rat race.
