Sat TV is good and limited mobile reception. Telstra works best we've found. River access over a rocky, uneven embankment as it's a natural, untouched environment, just how we and the native animals like it. Campfires ONLY PERMITTED when fire restrictions aren't in place. Andrew, who greeted us on arrival with some of his girls eggs and a load of firewood that lasted our three days and then some if needed, has a delightful spot for enjoying exactly what Tasmania has to offer. The river and yes platypus were spotted, birds, fish and beautiful smells that make relaxation and admiring nature possible. Whilst the weather wasn’t in our favour we still thoroughly enjoyed it and went for bush walks around his property. Close by is wings wildlife park or a little further caves and waterfalls. Loved our stay and thank you for sharing your beautiful spot.

So quiet, friendly host, platypus in the dam to see at dawn. Lovely walk up the hill. Clean toilets. 15 mins to cradle mountain visitor centre. If towing a van from devonport direction do NOT follow Google through Gunns Plains. It's super steep and unsuitable for vans.

Adam was a wonderful host. Clear directions & we were very happy with our site. Only 2 sites & we were lucky to have this beautiful area to ourselves. Dogs loved the access to the water, mingling with the calves & the grassed area to run around. We made this our base & found the locals friendly while supporting the town (only mins away). Great camp-site. Well located to use as a base to explore from each day. Power and water connected. Hot shower with good pressure. Clean facilities. Great camp kitchen, with pizza oven, BBQ, microwave, fridge, toaster, kettle.great hospitality and special mention to Wendy. Mrs chook also provide fun interaction for us and our 3 kids. Highly recommend families seeking an adventure and a well located, friendly and well provided camp site

Weekend Trip to Cethana camp ground

I was greeted on arrival and shown the appropriate camping spots. Caretaker was super nice and friendly. The campsite has all the right amenities- fridge, toaster, kettle and microwave so it’s easy to organise your food. Also a pizza oven and barbecue. Owner came over with muffins on my first morning which was super nice. Chicken seemed to undo my tent pegs while I was away during the day. Overall great stay with lovely views.

Lovely quiet campsite right in the heart of nature! Everything you need and very clean. Hosts were lovely, and only 10 mins from cradle mountain. Even had kayaks and boats available for free.

Fantastic flat campsites, beautifully maintained property with BBQs, fire-places, very clean Portoloos, great views, easy walks for the dog - and excellent hosts! So close to Cradle too. Thanks Scott - we had a ball and we’re definitely looking forward to staying again!

This is a great Hip-camp, highly recommend staying here. Great little lake, kayaks provided a paddle boat it was great fun and a walking track around the lake. We were only 15 min away from Cradle Mountain with the cost of the stay it was so worth it.
