You can cross the river and then you are on the bike track that will take you to Derby or Branxholm, this is a beautiful walking track or carry your bike across river then ride. Quiet location perfect place to stay for a few nights. Awesome quiet spot to get away. Property is on a working dairy/beef farm. Wood available for sale at camp to use in fire pits for just $10 a tub. We have just put in a private dump point for guest convince. Our property runs beef and cultivates crops alongside the Ringarooma river, North East Tasmania. We often host mountain bike riders here to access the world-class trails at Derby. Nearby are many marked mountain trails, and numerous falls. Skiing is 1hr away in the winter. Our camping site is alongside cattle grazing paddocks and the Ringarooma river, and we offer one site only, to one group at a time, so it's yours exclusively. A toilet is available nearby. A gravel track descends to the river with a short steep bank preceding the flats. When the track reaches the river the camping site is just through the gate on the right. One gate and two wire gates may require opening on the way and these gates need to be closed again to prevent cattle from wandering. Electrical fencing is in use and alive - please be careful! Wood for your campfire is available to purchase, $15. I can supply fresh sourdough loaves $6 also fresh eggs $3perhalf doz, and fresh cows milk most of the year $5/2L. Fly fish for trout and cook over the coals for a treat. Welcome to bring your dog along, but please keep them under control.

(The dogs will get out of the way of cars so just drive ahead and the dogs will move out of your way they have big barks but they are friendly) PLEASE NOTE: If you have any issues with dogs let us know in ADVANCE and we can lock them in their yard for your stay. EVERYONE is told upon arrival to honk/toot your horn if you have any issues or need help and one of us will come and help if you let us know! Otherwise we leave people in peace to camp as they wish and where they want. The property has a big guest house that is currently empty, this is where the flushing toilet is for you to use whilst camping if you like. We loved this spot, beautiful by the river and some alpacas for neighbours. The fire drum and firewood provided made our night very comfortable. No luck on the trout, but maybe that’s just a good excuse to come back. Could genuinely spend a week here, going in and out seeing the sights around the area. Easy booking, easy directions, 5 star Hipcamp!!!

Such a beautiful location, abby has thought about everything you need to be comfortable. Kitchen is managable for simple cook ups and the bath is fantastic. Be aware that the charging station is very limited for power. Also wasnt expecting such close neighbours. All in all would definitely recommend and would consider staying again!

We failed to follow the directions properly and ended up at Pauline's house. Pauline was friendly and helpful. The track to the campsite is downhill and at times tricky with a 17'6'' caravan but easily navigatable however 20' plus vans may find it challenging. The campsite is by the river and has a fire ring which we used. There is a portaloo further along from the campsite which we did not visit. When camping it is best to drive into the site then easily reverse out when leaving. The only downside to the campsite was that the grass was not cut and the long grass impeded access around the van.

We loved our stay at Farm on Franklin, such a beautiful place we were greeted by Sarah at the property and were allowed to pick our own grassy spot by the river. This place is perfect for families and you can bring your pet, fire pots provided and short walks by the river add to the serenity. this place is only 10 minutes from Port Sorell and close to the national park. Easy to follow directions 5 minutes on a gravel road to get to the site, some telstra coverage with semi level sites that only took some minor leveling of our 21 ft van. we would love stay again and would highly recommend to quiet couples travelling with their pets. dump point and woolworths in Port Sorell

This weekend was a birthday present for my wife. She loved it at Valley’s Nest. Calm and peaceful with beautiful view. Very comfy bed, lovely fire that kept us warm. She had a long bath on Sunday taking in the view again. We also loved exploring Fingal and St Mary’s. Great meal that the St Mary’s pub and watched a platypus in the River running past the pub. Great weekend.
