Longer pieces of firewood are provided free of charge and kindling can easily be collected from around. (Please don't use the shorter pieces of cut firewood as they are for my wood heater). You could enjoy a wood fired bush bath at extra charge, conditions allowing, with advance notice. Early evening is the best time to enjoy a bush bath and star gazing with set up in the afternoon. Wildlife on the property includes birds, wallabies, possums, echidnas and bandicoots. You are welcome to bring your small dog but please ensure it's under control at all times. APLITE HOUSE sits amongst a two-hundred-acre private property of a secluded forest. The property is fringed by the world-renowned Freycinet National Park. Aplite House is conveniently located along the "Great Eastern Drive" on the Freycinet Peninsula, between Coles Bay and Bicheno at Friendly Beaches. Aplite House is a 2.5 hr drive from Hobart, a 2 hr drive from Launceston, a 1.5 hr drive from St Helensa, a 40 min drive from Swansea, and a 25 min drive from Coles Bay or Bicheno. Aplite House is a very private home base that is well-positioned for exploring Tasmania's East Coast. While at the house there is a sense of immersion in the native Tasmanian forest with views over the Moulting Lagoon conservation area it is a very relaxing and tranquil environment. Nearby are pristine Friendly Beaches that are almost 8 km long and most times feels like you have the entire beach to yourself. Aplite House is a sanctuary in the heart of one of Australia's most iconic landscapes. While enjoying the seclusion and privacy of the property it is within easy reach to explore Coles Bay, Bicheno, Wineglass Bay hiking trail, Honeymoon Bay, Sleepy Bay, Bluestone Bay, Cape Tourville Lighthouse, Bicheno Blowhole, Denison Beach, Freycinet National Park, Douglas Apsley National Park and East Coast Vineyards, along with the many other activities the region offers. The property surrounding Aplite House is home to a diverse range of flora and fauna including orchids, Tasmanian devils, wombats, possums, wallabies, quolls, and wedge-tail eagles. Architecturally designed by Stephen Geason. Stephen was commissioned as a Director of the prominent Hobart Architectural firm Dock 4. He was selected because of his appreciation for Tasmania and the Freycinet region. The brief was to design a solar passive, site-specific home used for short to medium-length, self-catering stays of guests, with multiple locations to relax, built using Tasmanian materials. Stephen first visited the property prior to any site preparation, he walked over the entire property and discussed the location.

The Bohemian Beach retreat was just the cosiest place! We absolutely loved our time here - you can tell a lot of love has gone into this place over the years and it feels like home. The outdoor fire pit and bath were highlights. Note the toilet and shower are an outhouse and if its poor weather it can be a wet trip there and back. In saying that - not a negative for us.

Such a beautiful location, abby has thought about everything you need to be comfortable. Kitchen is managable for simple cook ups and the bath is fantastic. Be aware that the charging station is very limited for power. Also wasnt expecting such close neighbours. All in all would definitely recommend and would consider staying again!

Weekend Trip to Valley's Nest

This weekend was a birthday present for my wife. She loved it at Valley’s Nest. Calm and peaceful with beautiful view. Very comfy bed, lovely fire that kept us warm. She had a long bath on Sunday taking in the view again. We also loved exploring Fingal and St Mary’s. Great meal that the St Mary’s pub and watched a platypus in the River running past the pub. Great weekend.

We had such a beautiful weekend staying at Mike and Sheena’s Boho beach retreat, it felt peaceful and welcoming. We loved that our dogs could come along with us — it made the weekend feel even more special having them there. The space itself was perfect — simple, cosy, and had everything we needed. It was so nice to switch off, unwind, and enjoy the quiet by the beach. The fire bath was such a highlight — sitting in the warm bath in the rain was pure bliss. We left feeling relaxed, reconnected, and already talking about when we can come back.

Very quiet and secluded, lovely set up and had everything for the perfect camping style. Bath however is designed for 1 person. As the heating is underneath the bath, it heats up too much. Just to keep in mind when booking your stay

Weekend Trip to Sea Cliff Lookout Bus

Breathtaking! I watched a whale breach multiple times through the binoculars from the deck, had a relaxing soak in the outdoor fire bath, wandered the beautiful forest that surrounds the property, and enjoyed all of the wildlife even a white goshawk and pademelons with joeys! The bus is so comfy, cosy, the fire inside made sure of that. My second, visit and many more to come. A truly beautiful escape.

What a great find! And so close to Maydena, we loved our stay here. So quiet and the comfiest beds ever. Loved the option of cooking outside on the table and enjoying the views. Great secure storage for our bikes and Andrew & Maree such great hosts. We will definitely be back.

Great glamping experience in a lovely location. Miles and his family have done a fabulous job with converting the bus into a wonderful place to stay with supporting kitchen and bathroom amenities. The fire was prepared and ready to light with wood ready for night two. With ample options to relax outside or inside along with a super comfy bed. it was a seamless off grid trip. Can recommend the fire bath and thanks for the bottle of wine.

To anyone who wants the camping experience with all the creature comforts, look no further than Valleys Nest! Not only were the views spectacular, in daylight & at night, but this place really did make someone like me, who doesn’t like to camp, appreciate the experience even more. The potbelly stove was bliss in these cold evenings & made sure we were never cold. The long drop was the best we had ever used - super clean & smell less! The swing & open verandah were my constant go-to for taking in the views when not cooking & warming up next to the fire, and the bath - just wow! Super warm with the most spectacular views! The whole experience was just so magical & we wont be only visiting once! For anyone wanting to reconnect to nature without too much effort, this is for sure an experience worth booking! Thank you Abby & Markus for sharing your magical place - it made for the most perfect romantic escape from our regular city life & forced us to reconnect to nature in all the best possible way!

The location is absolutely stunning. It's surrounded by gorgeous forest, you can hear nothing but the wind in the trees and the birds. Yet despite the seclusion there is still a coffee cart in walking distance often set up at the nearby lookout. The bus is surprisingly well insulated and is kept warm with the fireplace even when the temperature drops to freezing outside.

Weekend Trip to Bohemian Beach Retreat Tiny House

We really loved staying at Michael and Sheena's place. We were looking for a place to have a cosy weekend away with a fire bath and fire pit. On arrival everything was set up for us, fire in the pit and under the bath. All we had to do was fill up the water and light the fires. It was a lovely romantic getaway. Falmouth is a lovely destination with long sand beach, lagoon and rocky boldery Shaw line to explore rock pools. The accommodation had everything we needed, the bed was comfortable and warm. The place was nestled in between to house but we had plenty of privacy. We could watch the stars, listen to frogs in the evening and drids during the day. As a bonus, Michael and Sheena had a cd player and plenty of cds to listen to which were right up our alley. Lived our time here, Michael was a great communicator and checked in with us.
