The Scrub Campsite located in remnant vegetation (14 minutes from Victor Harbor ) is a rustic self check in campsite as the owners do not reside near the campsite.
Campers choose their site in the designated camp spots. Sites are not allocated unless by prior arrangement.
Persons under 18, youth groups, school groups or scout groups etc. are not permitted to book at the campsite.
A communal camp kitchen, water tanks and compost toilet is available for campers use. Fire pits are located at each site. Campers will be advised of fire bans.
Wood can be purchased from the self service white ibc container for $15 for 20kgs.
Please adhere to the camp rules which are posted at each campsite.
The campsite is located on the Heysen Trail and close to many Lower Fleurieu Peninsula beaches and attractions. The popular Belicious Cafe is a 45 minute walk.

Humpy Springs is a serene retreat just 3 minutes from McLaren Flat, nestled in the foothills of the locality known as "The Range," which stretches northeast from Willunga Hill toward Kangarilla. The campsite sits on one of the hills with a predominantly north-easterly aspect, overlooking gullies and gum trees. Due to its elevation, some times of the year can be windy, so it’s best to check forecasts before arrival. The highlight of Humpy Springs is a natural spring-fed freshwater lake, accessible by a short bush walk down steep hills or by 4WD via approved tracks. Swim or kayak at your own risk, with a pontoon and ladder for easy access. Kayaks can be hired for the duration of your stay.
This lake is a peaceful sanctuary, surrounded by rugged hills, ducks, and occasionally grazing kangaroos. It’s our favorite feature, offering calm and tranquility at every visit. For those who enjoy bushwalking or hiking, a track leads to the top of the hills, revealing stunning views over McLaren Flat, Blewitt Springs, and out to Moana and the coast. The hike takes roughly an hour, mostly gentle with a short steep 50-meter section near the lake.
The sites are natural, with no amenities provided, so campers must be self-sufficient. There is space for camp trailers and caravans, ideally pulled by 4WD vehicles due to the topography. Firewood is available at a minimal cost—please advise when booking so it can be calculated based on nights and guests.
Humpy Springs offers a perfect blend of nature, adventure, and tranquility. Spend your days exploring the lake, walking the trails, or visiting local wineries, and your evenings relaxing under gum trees, listening to birds, and watching the sunset. Come experience our piece of paradise and make lasting memories in this unique corner of the Southern Vales.

We live in a beautiful hidden valley on 30 acres, We're joined by friendly dogs, horses, alpacas, rabbits, guinea pigs, 2 lovely Camels, 2 cheeky pigs, Galloway cows and chooks, along with the resident wildlife including many birds, kangaroos, koalas, shy owls, and even an echidna! All this, plus beautiful views from atop our hills, right to the lake, and the delightful winter creek complete with frogs.
We are close to the McLaren Vale wine region as well as wineries throughout the Hills and 35 minutes to the coast of Victor Harbor. The Greenman Inn is 5 minutes down the road and has wonderful food from Wed to Sun if you do not feel the urge to cook with wood fires for the cold nights or a gorgeous outdoor area for the warmer months.
At present, we offer two areas for camping. Topspot which has lovely views and is quite secluded amongst the tree tops. This site is suitable for tents and camper trailers (need reasonable backing skills and 4WD)
The Laneway which is close to the babbling creek is suitable for those with a small caravan, or motorhome, 2WD etc, along with tent campers. (but would struggle with large caravans/motorhomes - please check with hosts)
(The Lookout/Highview has spectacular views Please note this site is currently closed due to stock rotation.)
If you have any doubts about which to book, please ask.
AUTUMN/WINTER MONTHS: if we receive considerable rain the trek up to the hill sites could become slippery and not accessible as it is a farm paddock, therefore unfortunately your booking may need to be cancelled.
NOTE: On our farm there is limited phone coverage in the valley (The Laneway).
Pets are welcome, however, please ensure they are kept under control (unless discussed with the host) at all times.
Please note: This is an active small farm, therefore work may need be continued throughout your stay possibly necessitating the use of machinery and tending to our livestock. If you wish to see some of the animals up close, please let us know and we will try to accommodate. We ask that all fires be contained within the fire pit provided and a portable toilet is available for your use.
BUSHFIRE SEASON: Wood and open fires are not permitted in the bushfire season, therefore you will not be able to use the fire pits.

Obviously vehicles lengths vary. Vans larger than 18ft will need experienced drivers who have towed in tighter locations and know how the wheels track behind the tow vehicle. Larger vans will need to take care. Under 18ft vans will easily fit, but care also needed.
Family hobby farm on six green acres in the historical town of Clarendon (Toondilla), just half an hour south of Adelaide. Set in a gully with a winter creek (Willow Creek) running through (dry in warmer months). Conveniently located within walking distance to the main street of Clarendon - five minutes to the Bakery and 10 minutes to the Royal Oak Hotel and General Store!
The property offers the best views of Clarendon via a short walk to the top paddock. There is a limit of 2 private, protected campsites near the creek, each well-maintained and level, with scattered gum trees that provide lovely shade in the morning and afternoon.
Camp Toondilla is set up for self-contained campers who bring their own camp toilet and take all waste with them when they go. Well-behaved pets are welcome.
Plenty of options in the area to keep the outdoor enthusiast busy, including: nearby wineries (some dog friendly), beaches (Moana and Aldinga/Silver Sands can be driven on), reservoirs (Mt Bold - hiking and views) and (Happy Valley - hiking, running, kayaking, fishing), Onkaparinga National Park and Scott Creek Conservation Park, ForestrySA land (including TreeClimb, Bone Gully MTB and parkrun on Saturdays at The Avenues - Kuitpo (Your host is the Event Director).

Willow Glen is set in the Adelaide Hills on 10 acres, close to Hahndorf and bordering the Onkaparinga River. The property is a private farm with 2 dams and views extending across the valley.
There are a number of suitable locations to for bush camping. Site access is limited to dry weather and vehicles with single axle camper trailer or tent. Vehicles with higher ground clearance are more suitable. The River Upstream is the flattest of the campgrounds if you require a completely level site for your vehicle.
A number of alpacas and sheep share the camp grounds. Sites suit bush camping with limited amenities. Potable water is available upon request but there are no toilets or services on site.
There are a number of great wineries in the area all with excellent food and produce you can enjoy.

Your campsite is surrounded by native trees and scrub so it’s not unusual to have kangaroos, koalas, and native birds like kookaburras and cockatoos stop by for a visit.
Behind your campsite there's an organic fruit orchard where the chickens forage. The property also features paddocks with roaming sheep and an alpaca. Let the host know if you would like a farm tour or to join in feeding the farm animals.
We only allow one group on our campsite at a time to ensure you have a peaceful and quiet stay.
We are a small, family owned and run hobby farm. Eggs and other farm produce for sale on request when there is surplus. Campfires allowed when restrictions aren't in place (firewood available to buy at our wood stall).

The Scrub Campsite located in remnant vegetation (14 minutes from Victor Harbor ) is a rustic self check in campsite as the owners do not reside near the campsite.
Campers choose their site in the designated camp spots. Sites are not allocated unless by prior arrangement.
Persons under 18, youth groups, school groups or scout groups etc. are not permitted to book at the campsite.

The highlight of Humpy Springs is a natural spring-fed freshwater lake, accessible by a short bush walk down steep hills or by 4WD via approved tracks. Swim or kayak at your own risk, with a pontoon and ladder for easy access. Kayaks can be hired for the duration of your stay.
This lake is a peaceful sanctuary, surrounded by rugged hills, ducks, and occasionally grazing kangaroos. It’s our favorite feature, offering calm and tranquility at every visit. For those who enjoy bushwalking or hiking, a track leads to the top of the hills, revealing stunning views over McLaren Flat, Blewitt Springs, and out to Moana and the coast. The hike takes roughly an hour, mostly gentle with a short steep 50-meter section near the lake.
The sites are natural, with no amenities provided, so campers must be self-sufficient. There is space for camp trailers and caravans, ideally pulled by 4WD vehicles due to the topography. Firewood is available at a minimal cost—please advise when booking so it can be calculated based on nights and guests.
Humpy Springs offers a perfect blend of nature, adventure, and tranquility. Spend your days exploring the lake, walking the trails, or visiting local wineries, and your evenings relaxing under gum trees, listening to birds, and watching the sunset. We live in a beautiful hidden valley on 30 acres, We're joined by friendly dogs, horses, alpacas, rabbits, guinea pigs, 2 lovely Camels, 2 cheeky pigs, Galloway cows and chooks, along with the resident wildlife including many birds, kangaroos, koalas, shy owls, and even an echidna! All this, plus beautiful views from atop our hills, right to the lake, and the delightful winter creek complete with frogs.
We are close to the McLaren Vale wine region as well as wineries throughout the Hills and 35 minutes to the coast of Victor Harbor. The Greenman Inn is 5 minutes down the road and has wonderful food from Wed to Sun if you do not feel the urge to cook with wood fires for the cold nights or a gorgeous outdoor area for the warmer months.
At present, we offer two areas for camping. Topspot which has lovely views and is quite secluded amongst the tree tops. This site is suitable for tents and camper trailers (need reasonable backing skills and 4WD)
The Laneway which is close to the babbling creek is suitable for those with a small caravan, or motorhome, 2WD etc, along with tent campers. (but would struggle with large caravans/motorhomes - please check with hosts)
(The Lookout/Highview has spectacular views Please note this site is currently closed due to stock rotation.)
If you have any doubts about which to book, please ask.
AUTUMN/WINTER MONTHS: if we receive considerable rain the trek up to the hill sites could become slippery and not accessible as it is a farm paddock, therefore unfortunately your booking may need to be cancelled.
NOTE: On our farm there is limited phone coverage in the valley (The Laneway).
Pets are welcome, however, please ensure they are kept under control (unless discussed with the host) at all times.
Please note: This is an active small farm, therefore work may need be continued throughout your stay possibly necessitating the use of machinery and tending to our livestock. If you wish to see some of the animals up close, please let us know and we will try to accommodate. We ask that all fires be contained within the fire pit provided and a portable toilet is available for your use.

Set in a gully with a winter creek (Willow Creek) running through (dry in warmer months). Conveniently located within walking distance to the main street of Clarendon - five minutes to the Bakery and 10 minutes to the Royal Oak Hotel and General Store!
The property offers the best views of Clarendon via a short walk to the top paddock. There is a limit of 2 private, protected campsites near the creek, each well-maintained and level, with scattered gum trees that provide lovely shade in the morning and afternoon.
Camp Toondilla is set up for self-contained campers who bring their own camp toilet and take all waste with them when they go. Well-behaved pets are welcome.

Willow Glen is set in the Adelaide Hills on 10 acres, close to Hahndorf and bordering the Onkaparinga River. The property is a private farm with 2 dams and views extending across the valley.
There are a number of suitable locations to for bush camping. Site access is limited to dry weather and vehicles with single axle camper trailer or tent. Vehicles with higher ground clearance are more suitable. The River Upstream is the flattest of the campgrounds if you require a completely level site for your vehicle.
A number of alpacas and sheep share the camp grounds. Sites suit bush camping with limited amenities. Potable water is available upon request but there are no toilets or services on site.
There are a number of great wineries in the area all with excellent food and produce you can enjoy.

We are located walking distance from lake alexandrina, we’re there are plenty of activities to do such as fishing, boating, and more. There is abundance of wildlife with our resident mob of kangaroos stoping by daily it’s a bird watchers paradise.
This site is a 4 minute walk from the main house and is completely private. The property has its own private road so plenty of room for kids to ride their bikes, we have horses and cows that guests are welcome to feed over the fence. Dogs are welcome lots of room for them to run around, we also have paddle boards for hire.
The town of milang has its own mini mart and cafe and on weekends the train museum is open for viewing.
Must be self contained and leave no trace.

Bradbury Nature Retreat is located on a stunning 11 acre property that offers glorious uninterrupted views all the way to Aldinga Beach (just ask the host to show you where you can find this secret view).
The property is accessed via a private road so it is incredibly quiet and serene. Instead, get lost in the sound of wild-life all around you!
Your campsite is surrounded by native trees and scrub so it’s not unusual to have kangaroos, koalas, and native birds like kookaburras and cockatoos stop by for a visit.
Behind your campsite there's an organic fruit orchard where the chickens forage. The property also features paddocks with roaming sheep and an alpaca. Let the host know if you would like a farm tour or to join in feeding the farm animals.
We only allow one group on our campsite at a time to ensure you have a peaceful and quiet stay.
We are a small, family owned and run hobby farm. Eggs and other farm produce for sale on request when there is surplus. Campfires allowed when restrictions aren't in place (firewood available to buy at our wood stall).

We loved having a van at Steven’s place. Flat, quiet and beautiful trees surrounding. It was a bit tight getting in and out but enough room to manoeuvre once on the flat. Easy walk to town, and short drive to plenty of attractions in the area. Steven was a great help with local knowledge and tips on places to visit.

Had an excellent time at this spot, tucked away on a nicely grassed area. Steve was more than welcoming. There was a zipline and swings for the kids to play and there are also some resident koala’s you can spot in the trees. We would definitely stay again if we head to South Australia again!

We had a great one night stay at the Breakaway farm campsite! We were greeted by the lovely Robert who showed us where to park and was happy to help with any questions. The site was flat and easy to find space for some privacy. We enjoyed the animals on site, having the goats as neighbours whilst we ate dinner. We visited on a very hot day, so were pleased to find a communal area for some shade and wifi, and noticed they even had an indoor pool that some guests were enjoying.

Where to go
Deep Creek National Park
Renowned for its rugged coastal landscape, abundant wildlife, and awesome walking trails, Deep Creek National Park boasts the largest portion of natural vegetation on the Fleurieu Peninsula. Explore the secluded Blowhole Beach for great fishing, hike from the well-appointed Trig Campground to Deep Creek Cove, and look out for western grey kangaroos and short-beaked echidnas. Or, go off the beaten path to Wuldi Krikin Ngawanthi, a hike-in campground along Wild South Coast Way on Heysen Trail with timber platforms and picnic tables among shady gum trees.
Newland Head Conservation Park
A little farther along the Fleurieu Peninsula coast, Newland Head Conservation Park is best known for Waitpinga Beach and Parsons Beach. Both beaches are excellent for seasonal surf fishing, tempting anglers with Australian salmon and yellow eye mullet. Walk the four-hour Coastal Cliffs Loop Hike, and take in coastal views of white-bellied sea eagles soaring in their natural habitat. Waitpinga Campground is steps from the beach, offering oceanfront campsites for tents or swags among the mallee heath vegetation or in open areas with shrubs. Amenities include flush toilets, picnic shelters, and a shared BBQ grill.
Lashmar Conservation Park
For a wild camping experience near Second Valley, take the ferry from Cape Jervis to Penneshaw on Kangaroo Island. From there, it’s a short drive to Lashmar Conservation Park and the long sandy beach at Antechamber Bay. Swimming, canoeing, and birdwatching are popular here. Encounter Kangaroo Island kangaroos, tammar wallabies, long-nosed fur seals, and even wild koalas. Both Antechamber Bay Campground and Chapman River Campground are suitable for tents and caravans, though campsites are unpowered. Campfires are permitted in designated firepits with seasonal fire restrictions in place.
When to go
Summer months near Second Valley, from December to February, are dry and can get very hot, exceeding 30°C during the day. It’s a popular time of year for beach activities like snorkelling. This time of year is also better for seeing native reptiles. Winter is colder, with daytime highs around 10°C, but June to October is also peak whale-watching season. For milder temperatures more conducive to exploring the vast network of hiking trails, consider camping in spring (September to November) or fall (March to May).
