Welcome to “Karinya” which means peaceful and happy home. We are delighted to share our property with those that appreciate nature and want to take some time out amongst the gum trees. We are on a koala and wildlife corridor so respect for our wildlife as well as our domestic livestock is essential. We are conveniently located just off the Warrego Highway but once you set up camp, you will feel miles away from anywhere. Relax at camp or wander down to the creek to swim, fish or kayak (if the seasons are favourable); birdwatch, hike or mountain bike along the ridge; wander our flower field (seasonal picking available at additional cost); visit with the cattle and miniature ponies; stargaze and enjoy a camp fire (if there are no fire bans). If you want to explore the region, we are only 18klms from Toowoomba or Gatton and you can slip up Springbluff to easily access Highfields/Crows Nest area. Plenty of space to choose your camp, with very limited numbers accepted. Potable water available but Council requirements mean you must be fully self contained. Nearest dump point will be Gatton Showgrounds. The criticism of our space by some campers has been the nearby railway line. We have become immune to it but for some the passing coal trains is annoying. They are sporadiac - sometimes frequent, other times not. If you don't like trains, perhaps Karinya is not for you :( Leave no trace.

Harper Creek Road and Harper Creek Criss cross one another as you drive through the valley. The ridges either side of the road are largely timbered, whereas the valley floor is productive land. The large property is located towards the end of this no-through-road, almost at the end of the line. While the property has dual access from both Engle Rd at the top camp; Harper Creek Rd, we enter from the valley. Camping on the top block is also available for 4WD vehicles only and not suited to large caravans. Campers are required to be self-contained with their own toilet/shower facilities and must take all waste and rubbish with them on departure. Campfires are welcome in the fire pits with firewood provided or BYO. The mid-1900’s cottage sits in an idyllic setting, framed by the trees. The cottage is not yet available for Farm stays but will be soon. The location, vegetation and topography provide the privacy, the fauna & birdlife (the Bellbirds) combine to provide the solitude. Harper Creek cuts through the front corner of the property where it is met by a minor creek that drains the high country. You want more … how about a total of 115 acres (46.42 ha). While it is predominantly well-treed, it does have some cleared camping opportunities. It is watered by the creeks and one dam. There’s a great camping site at the top of the block, with a fantastic view! The property is off Aherns Rd, close to the village of Conondale and mid-way between Maleny & Kenilworth. With good access to the freeway via either Maleny or Kenilworth.… a perfect bush camping spot in a perfect setting! Pets welcome, please ensure they are kept under control and picked up after.

We are a short walk or drive from NASH Horse Treking for those who want to do a pub lunch ride on a horse. It is a fantastic experience so Google them to book. We are a very short 900m bicycle ride from the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail (BRVT) which is one of the must-do cycle treks in the southern hemisphere. If you or your crew need a place to stay while riding the trail then this is perfect for you. The town of Esk and two major dams are very close by where you can browse the antique shops, waterski, or fish to your heart's content. We are also close to Fernvale where there are big Sunday Markets.

Come stay on our peaceful 88-acre property, surrounded by horses, cattle (including Scottish Highlanders), and friendly farm animals like sheep, chickens, goats, and turkeys. Pick fresh produce and fruit from the gardens, enjoy the well-equipped camp kitchen, and use the onsite porta-loo. There are loads of firewood available and bins for rubbish. Explore the property by bike or on foot—there are great bushwalking trails, and you might even spot a koala! At the end of the day, relax and take in the stunning sunsets and star-filled night skies. A Great place to have your own private and secluded campsite, away from the holiday crowds. A bird watchers paradise. From Wedtailed Eagles to Fairy Wrens. Check out our photography extra. 160 acres of working goat and alpaca farm on the highlands of the Darling Downs, only 8 km from the New England Highway. All sites are private and secluded with great views, great sunsets, and starry night skies. There is an abundance of birds and wildlife including Red Necked Wallabies, Possums, Rufus Batongs, Bandicoots and Echidnas. There are seasonal creeks and waterfalls and wildflowers. Campers may occasionally be visited by a herd of friendly goats that like soft drink and chips. We often have baby goats and alpacas that are being hand reared which are popular with kids and adults alike. Dogs are permitted but have to be quiet and restrained. Campfires permitted at our discretion (please ask first - depending on weather conditions). You'll need to BYO wood. Campers MUST have their own toilet. The standard "Pack it in. Pack it out" rules apply. All sites are accessible by STANDARD HEIGHT 2WD however 4WD may be required if towing. There is a 'special' site reserved for Larger RVs and Caravans. Cooby Dam is only minutes away for fishing, bird watching, Kayaking and canoeing

Weekend Trip to Max's Farm

Top camping area was private and shady almost surrounded by trees. The only interruption the whole time was from the occassional visit by a kelpie, but a really nice dog so not a problem. There was enough space to comfortably manoeuvre camper trailer. It was a short walk to the creek although it was only a trickle when we stayed. Only problem we experienced was getting enough sun on our solar panels, although if camping a bit lower on the hill that wouldn't be an issue. Not sure I would have been as comfortable on one of the bottom camping sites which are quite exposed.

We stayed at site 14 and it was perfect, tucked away at the back of the property where it was quiet and secluded. The two lovely dogs came and kept us company for the stay and loved the attention we gave them. Lots and lots of pats were given, we loved having the dogs company. Would highly recommend staying here.

The camping was fantastic. Was a little confusing when first arrived, but worked it out pretty quickly. The number on the letter box at the top of the dirt road threw us, but you just turn down the dirt road and you are there. We camped down the back under the trees. was nice and shaded. You can hear the trains which are extremely loud of a night but i didn't mind that at all, was quite soothing. On the second night you couldn't hear them at all, they blended in with every other nature sounds. They do have toilets on the property, just be mindful of fellow campers using them as well. The water in the creek was very clear and inviting, was magical early morning with the sunrise watching the ducks and water birds, was peaceful. The birds have nests in the trees. Great to watch as they fed their young ones. We had 2 dogs with us and they loved every second exploring and swimming. Was great getting back to nature. Thank you Kym for a great stay.

Excellent off grid camping with 3 small children. We stayed at site 14. Endless supply of firewood. Close to Atkinson dam for a swim. If you want to be left alone from the world then site 14 is the spot. Simon is a 5 star host.

10/10 recommend this beautiful camp site!! We came here with a group of 4x4s and had plenty of space!! Very private and such an amazing view from the top of the hill. We also loved the drive into the property, and Richard was super accommodating!

I went with a group of 8 and was allowed to swap from site 5 to site 9 as soon as we pulled up wich was super good for us because we could play music and be loud without any issues the farm dogs are super friendly and playful overall it’s a great spot especially if u want to go to the pokies while camping

The camping area was nice but not close to the water like I had hoped. I was a little confused about the fact that we had to bring our own toilet but there was a few toilets there but I didn't mind bringing our own. It was nice that no one else was camping there and I guess that's what you are paying for although I thought the price could be cheaper considering the lack of facilities. The trains were quite frequent and noisy but we were definitely pre-warned about that so not that bad really. The fire pit was great and it was nice being able to gather fallen logs from around the site area.

This is a great little spot only 20 minutes drive from Toowoomba. The camp site was well maintained with well looked after grass just like the photos suggest. There was ample firewood nearby, I'd recommend taking a saw, I forgot mine but I could break enough up. The creek was great, about a 200m walk from the camp site. With a sandy beach and a lagoon for swimming or kayaking which extended around 200m in length.
