Bunya Red Farm is a 160 acre mixed farm in the South Burnett, with awesome 360 degree views looking out to the beautiful Bunya Mountains and over farmland. We have cattle; alpacas; grow capers, peanuts and other seasonal crops.
The farm also enjoys a sky full of stars at night with the lights of Kingaroy and wind farm sparkling in the distance.

We have a whole beautiful valley with crystal clear spring-fed creeks, patches of rain forest and hillsides covered in grass-trees backing onto Wrattens State Forest. There's 1,375 acres of land - the boundaries of our property are the ridges of the mountains that encircle us, and many rare species abound here.
This is a dog and horse friendly property but no pets allowed in the cabin. There is paralysis tick in this region - so we'd recommend treating any animal before you come and frequent checks while you're here.
No mobile phone coverage at the cabin, but there is a hill you can drive (or walk) up on the property to get phone signal if needed and we have a landline phone in our house which can be used in emergencies.

The horse trails network is 500m up the road and has signage with town 1 hour ride away which I can take you on a ride to on the 3rd Sunday Market Day! I have access to the rail trail via private property, or otherwise you can utilise Staines Road to get into Benarkin State Forestry or the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail.
Dogs are also welcome who are well behaved and on a leash if others have horses with them. Please note that you MUST ensure your dog has tick prevention prior to arrival. Bookings require pre approval please. This is non negotiable to prepare for your stay.
All welcome to visit and please enjoy a campsite that will only ever have 2 bookings at a time in the 1 acre camping area.

Hidden Gem is a 600-acre cattle property just a stone's throw from Kilkivan and only three hours from Brisbane.
We are a working cattle farm with wide-open valleys and beautiful hills and ridges that beckon explorers. The peace and quiet here will fill your soul.
Guests are welcome to walk the property or fish in one of the farm dams. Swimming and paddling are perfect on a hot day, or simply relax and watch wedge-tailed eagles soaring overhead and shy whiptailed wallabies grazing nearby. If you’re observant, you might even spot a koala dozing in a tree.
Our accommodation is a quaint old shearer’s shack — The Shack — lovingly refurbished and now featuring indoor amenities including a kitchenette, shower, and flush toilet.
It comfortably sleeps 4–6 people, with extra camp beds available for larger groups or two families holidaying together. The open-plan space features polished hardwood floors, comfortable furniture, and a cozy fireplace perfect for chilly winter nights.
Outside, there’s a firepit with firewood provided. There’s no electricity at The Shack, but solar lights, a solar-powered fridge, gas hot water, a gas BBQ, and a small gas stove ensure all the essentials are covered. Mobile reception is patchy — we encourage guests to put their phones aside, unwind, and let the outside world drift away while you reconnect with nature.
Dogs are welcome but must be secured at all times. There’s a dog-proof fence around The Shack, but it is the guests’ responsibility to ensure pets remain within the fenced area or on a lead when walking on the property.

Our beautiful unfiltered rainwater is available for use during your stay, however there is no direct water connection to sites and all campsites are unpowered. Please ensure you come prepared to camp fully off-grid. Generators are welcome, but we ask that you use them considerately so all guests can enjoy the peace and quiet of the rural setting.

Hidden Gem is a 600-acre cattle property just a stone's throw from Kilkivan and only three hours from Brisbane.
We are a working cattle farm with wide-open valleys and beautiful hills and ridges that beckon explorers. The peace and quiet here will fill your soul.
Guests are welcome to walk the property or fish in one of the farm dams. Swimming and paddling are perfect on a hot day, or simply relax and watch wedge-tailed eagles soaring overhead and shy whiptailed wallabies grazing nearby. If you’re observant, you might even spot a koala dozing in a tree.
Our accommodation is a quaint old shearer’s shack — The Shack — lovingly refurbished and now featuring indoor amenities including a kitchenette, shower, and flush toilet.
It comfortably sleeps 4–6 people, with extra camp beds available for larger groups or two families holidaying together. The open-plan space features polished hardwood floors, comfortable furniture, and a cozy fireplace perfect for chilly winter nights.
Outside, there’s a firepit with firewood provided. There’s no electricity at The Shack, but solar lights, a solar-powered fridge, gas hot water, a gas BBQ, and a small gas stove ensure all the essentials are covered. Mobile reception is patchy — we encourage guests to put their phones aside, unwind, and let the outside world drift away while you reconnect with nature.
Dogs are welcome but must be secured at all times. There’s a dog-proof fence around The Shack, but it is the guests’ responsibility to ensure pets remain within the fenced area or on a lead when walking on the property.

We are certified organic and practice biodynamic farming methods for healthy soil and regenerative agriculture. Our farm is home to John and Jules, our kids, cattle, sheep, chickens, two gorgeous tiny homes and our dogs Pip and Evie.
In 2023, we located Claudine (the tiny home) on our property and were overwhelmed with the success and lovely comments from guests. In 2024, we completed the building of Henry and opened up the cabin to guests in March. We absolutely love living here and want to enable others to enjoy the spectacular views, reconnect with nature, and switch off from busy lives.
Your hosts are John and Julia Tidy. We moved from New Zealand to The Avocado Tree Farm, a property of 80 acres, in 2003.
Over the years, we have expanded the avocado orchard, become certified organic, raised two wonderful kids, and have hosted many backpackers, family and friends.

This farm stay was the perfect escape for a night! The animals are all so friendly, and a nice surprise at the back door when waking up in the morning. The cabin had everything we needed with very comfortable beds, and we were lucky to have a beautiful sunset while sitting by the fire. Can't wait to come back!

My wife and I had such a nice time on the farm. We both loved the cabin and how you could get up and close with all the animals. It was a nice touch having the door next to the kitchen set up where you could pat and brush the cows and goats right there! We also were given a jar of chicken feed and some hay for the animals so we could feed them when we wanted - and they were all so used to humans. What a beautiful, tranquil spot. The cabins are comfortable with gas hot water to the ensuite, two burner gas cooktop, solar lighting and a 240 volt outlet suitable for the supplied fan or charging phones and laptops. The firepit area is shady during the day and close to the creek. Lots of birdlife and we spotted possums, marsupial mice, platypus and wallabies.
Host Jimmy is very helpful and welcoming and his directions are clear.

We really enjoyed our stay. The cabins were clean and comfortable and there was plenty of room around them for our caravan and campervans. The fire pit is surrounded by a concrete slab, which was great. It's a lovely property, which is within easy reach of lots of great parts of the region. The property is absolutely beautiful and peaceful so many gorgeous birds and the view of the stars is divine. We stayed in the converted shed which was fantastic (and super clean and tidy!) however great amenities available for campers too! The lovely caretakers Tony and Carole was super friendly and made sure we had everything we needed for a relaxing and comfortable stay. This property would be ideal for a celebration due to the huge shed and stage setup - very cool!
