It's 25 acres of koala protected bush. Camping is on cleared, grassy flats, this is basic bush camping suited to fully self sufficient campers. Our block is completely off grid, there is no power or water. Wildlife must not be disturbed). Under a minute drive to local creek and swimming hole. A few minutes drive to Wivenhoe dam recreation area. 15-minute drive to Fernvale for supplies (and one of the famous pies from the bakery). 20 minute drive to Somerset Dam for all your water sport fun. Stop at a swimming hole or lookout on your way up to scenic Mt Glorious. We are About a 15 minute drive from Northbrook Gorge, a popular local hike. The site is only a short drive off the main road so the property offers an ideal spot for short stopovers, or alternatively use it as a base to explore the rest of the Scenic Rim. Situated halfway between Fernvale and Coominya makes this an ideal stop on your BVRT adventure or is ideal for a quick getaway being only an hour or so from Brisbane CBD. Wild Honey Cafe is 5 min up the road and do great coffee and food open from 06:30am -02:30pm Tuesday - Sunday. Right next to the cafe is The Clock and Bull Brewhouse/restaurant which is due to open soon. The Historic Farmers Arms is just up the road if you want a cold drink or a great counter meal with a country atmosphere. There are some great cafes in Highfields and Monty Brewing Company is definitely worth a visit. There are Markets in Cabarlah on the last Sunday of every month and there is the Toowoomba Farmers Markets every Saturday plus lots of other local markets. If there is some fishermen/women in your group Campfire Farms is only 17min from Cooby Dam and 45min from Cressbrook Dam. Both of our dams are also stocked with Yellow Belly, Silver Perch and there is an abundance of Yabbies. We are more than happy to show people around and let you experience the farm with us. **Our camping sites vary in size and proximity to others. If you want to come with a group with several vehicles etc, please send a message rather than book separate sites. We will help find a site which suits your needs. We now have several secluded bush camp sites as alternatives to our more 'civilised' sites. They have no facilities apart from the site so you must be entirely self-sufficient. But all are single sites well away from others. We invite you to come and share our property, soak up the tranquility of our quiet valley and enjoy feeling at home in nature. And your dog is welcome too (under control please because we value our wildlife, and no more than 2 dogs per couple or family group)! The land is nearly 200 Ha in the western foothills of the Dividing Range, with the usually-flowing North Branch Creek being a green haven supporting lots of wildlife. It also includes the secluded back valley of Hann Creek to which you can walk, cycle or ride, with many tracks of lengths up to 3 km. The land is mostly open forest land with some cleared areas from its dairy-farming history, and many gullies with thicker vegetation. The property is mostly now dedicated to nature conservation and the recovery of its more natural state. It is a Nature Refuge under Qld legislation with special emphasis on recognising that the land is Githabul country, honouring local Githabul people now, sharing it with them and others, plus preserving species of plants and animals with known relevance to their former lifestyles. The name Nyalar Mirungan-ah means 'Old Women's Tears' in Githabul, and recognises that they cry because the land was taken from them and because it has not been looked after well by European people. We are now trying to care for it well, and to allow the original ecosystems to return, by lighter grazing, soil recovery and using traditional Aboriginal burning knowledge. And we welcome dogs as long as they don't disturb our wildlife. Shandy, our own dog, is very welcoming to guests and might drop in to your camp for a visit.

Pets are welcome and must be under control and on a leash as there are farm animals kept on this property. Camp fires are permitted in communal fire areas or at your camp in provided fire drums. There is a limited number of fire drums available, so you are welcome to bring your own. The only exception will be if a local fire ban is activated. We have firewood available for sale, or you can collect free firewood off the ground. You are also welcome to bring your own firewood. No chainsaws allowed. Most afternoons the local Rikali (Australias Otter) can be seen diving for Yabbies. We are an 11 minute drive to the very popular Main range national Park which has some beautiful hiking trails and is the perfect place for a picnic. We have a great country pub close by as well which is a short walk down a country lane. Pets are welcome but please ensure they are under your control and that you clean up after them. Mountview is a very special place having been in the family for over 120 years. The working farm is 650 acres of grain cropping and also runs a productive Charolais beef cattle stud. A central stopover point an easy 15 minutes from Toowoomba city and only a few kilometers off the New England Highway. Great for couples getaways & larger family groups. For those that may not be experienced campers onsite accommodation is also available in the fully renovated homestead for up to 8 guests. Explore the local area with so many attractions and places to discover including the Darling Downs Zoo, The Historical Bull and Barley Inn, Lavender fields, quaint little country towns, sunflower fields, hiking tracks and so much more. Enjoy wide open spaces with magnificent views. Watch stunning sunsets, toast marshmallows around the fire pit, watch the night sky for a dazzling display of stars, hike or say hello to the many Charolais cattle on the property. You will also have access to the facilities at the Ironbark Barn which include a pool table, television, kitchen and bar area, and hot shower and toilets. The kitchen has a fridge, freezer, BBQ, dish-washing station and rubbish/recycling facilities. IMPORTANT; Please note to hook up to power you will need a lead of at least 30 meters. 15 amp power is supplied. Power is allocated on a first in best dressed preference. If you desperately require power please advise at the time of your booking and all efforts will be made to hook you up to power. Campers must arrive before 5pm to check in. Once checked in you are welcome to come and go as you please. No pets please.

Located on 250 acres, Empty Pockets farm is a cattle and crop farm on mixed country from rolling hills to tree lined creek banks. Privacy is guaranteed with a number of spacious sites available along two seasonal creeks and one site overlooking rolling hills and distant mountains. As a working cattle farm there are often inquisitive calves around. There are tracks right around the property for walking and exploring. You may see some of the local wildlife which include Rat Kangaroos and possums (both nocturnal), tree goanna, wallabies, echidna and many bird species. Located only 30 minutes from the beautiful Bunya Mountains and Coomba Falls. Motocross Mountain is 8km away and we are 5km from the Yarraman Rail Trail which is popular for mountain bike riding. Plenty of options for exploring or just stay, relax and unwind. We are pet friendly however we ask that dogs are kept on a leash. Season produce from the farm may be available for purchase depending on the season. Firewood is free from designated locations. We request that guests leave a zero footprint which means you need be self sufficient with your own toilet/shower facilities and all waste and rubbish is taken with you on departure.

Poores Outback Camping offers a spacious paddock with car access, parking and complete privacy from main house. Set up your car, camper, trailer or tent in this cute spot with a fireplace, chairs and tables available. There is a walking trail around the paddock where you will see lots of kangaroos and koalas. Our horse who lives in this paddock might also come up and say hello. Guests are required to be fully self sufficient with their own toilet/shower facilities and must take all waste and rubbish with them on departure. Pets are welcome but must be kept on a leash and under owners control whilst on the property. We are close to town and nearby gas stations.​
