We are delighted to share our property with those that appreciate nature and want to take some time out amongst the gum trees. We are on a koala and wildlife corridor so respect for our wildlife as well as our domestic livestock is essential.
We are conveniently located just off the Warrego Highway but once you set up camp, you will feel miles away from anywhere.
Relax at camp or wander down to the creek to swim, fish or kayak (if the seasons are favourable); birdwatch, hike or mountain bike along the ridge; wander our flower field (seasonal picking available at additional cost); visit with the cattle and miniature ponies; stargaze and enjoy a camp fire (if there are no fire bans).
If you want to explore the region, we are only 18klms from Toowoomba or Gatton and you can slip up Springbluff to easily access Highfields/Crows Nest area.
Plenty of space to choose your camp, with very limited numbers accepted. Potable water available but Council requirements mean you must be fully self contained. Nearest dump point will be Gatton Showgrounds.
The criticism of our space by some campers has been the nearby railway line. We have become immune to it but for some the passing coal trains is annoying. They are sporadiac - sometimes frequent, other times not. If you don't like trains, perhaps Karinya is not for you :(

160 acres of working goat and alpaca farm on the highlands of the Darling Downs, only 8 km from the New England Highway.
All sites are private and secluded with great views, great sunsets, and starry night skies. There is an abundance of birds and wildlife including Red Necked Wallabies, Possums, Rufus Batongs, Bandicoots and Echidnas.
There are seasonal creeks and waterfalls and wildflowers. Campers may occasionally be visited by a herd of friendly goats that like soft drink and chips. We often have baby goats and alpacas that are being hand reared which are popular with kids and adults alike.
Dogs are permitted but have to be quiet and restrained. Campfires permitted at our discretion (please ask first - depending on weather conditions). You'll need to BYO wood.
Campers MUST have their own toilet. The standard "Pack it in. Pack it out" rules apply.
All sites are accessible by STANDARD HEIGHT 2WD however 4WD may be required if towing.
There is a 'special' site reserved for Larger RVs and Caravans.
Cooby Dam is only minutes away for fishing, bird watching, Kayaking and canoeing

Fires welcome with plenty of fallen timber available to scavenge. Dogs off leash but not roaming to other camps. Keep noise to a minimum between 10pm and 6am. Sites are fully self contained with no power. Accessible for 2WD and towing however bumpy grass track and slippery when wet.
*New option* for a walk along our hilltops with stunning expansive views of the surrounding area. Perfect location for a sunset picnic and drinks. Or an energizing workout for that early morning sweat. Entry to the walk is via two barbed wire gates that must remained closed after entry or just slip between the two wires with care. Be aware that there are cattle in these adjoining paddocks who are very friendly and like to follow! They are harmless as long as they aren't being chased. Please keep dogs on a leash during this walk.

Great place to base yourself to experience the many local attractions around the Toowoomba and Lockyer region.
The camping area was picturesque, well maintained and had toilets and water if you needed.
Kym was a fantastic host ensuring all her guests were safe after an unexpected storm decided to play havoc in the area.

I loved tent camping at Misty Gullies with my dog. One of the best spots for bird watching. The host Richard was very welcoming and accommodating. The camp-site was private with an amazing view. The signs to the camp-site was clear and easy to follow. Thanks again Richard!

The camping was fantastic. Was a little confusing when first arrived, but worked it out pretty quickly. The number on the letter box at the top of the dirt road threw us, but you just turn down the dirt road and you are there. We camped down the back under the trees. was nice and shaded.
You can hear the trains which are extremely loud of a night but i didn't mind that at all, was quite soothing. On the second night you couldn't hear them at all, they blended in with every other nature sounds.
They do have toilets on the property, just be mindful of fellow campers using them as well.
The water in the creek was very clear and inviting, was magical early morning with the sunrise watching the ducks and water birds, was peaceful.
The birds have nests in the trees. Great to watch as they fed their young ones.
We had 2 dogs with us and they loved every second exploring and swimming.
Was great getting back to nature.

We loved this place! The hilltop had the absolute best views and even better sunsets. It was very peaceful and a fantastic weekend away, the hosts were great with communication prior and were very friendly once we had arrived. I dont often go somewhere more than once unless its fantastic and this is one of those places that have me wanting to go back!

We found this campsite during our trip from Japan, and it truly became one of the most unforgettable places of our lives.
The sunset and scenery were absolutely beautiful, and our children were fascinated by the daily activities.
We loved meeting the lovely birds, the wild animals, and especially riding on the proud tractor that took us around!
We’ll definitely be back again.

Met with Geoffrey who was very kind and guided us up to a higher camp ground. Nice 4x4 drive up the hill and was greeted with a private camp and with a beautiful view. Shame there was a fire ban but the sunset and star gazing was fantastic 👌
