Our venue and campgrounds are situated at the old Jimna State School property. The school closed in 2009 with the last students attending in 2006. It was then sold by the Qld government and has been rezoned as a Camping, Recreation and Events Venue. We have retained all the old school facilities for our campers to enjoy. There is a children’s playground and multi-purpose tennis court for everyone to enjoy. We provide tennis rackets, balls and basketballs free of charge to our campers. There is also no charge or fee to use the court. On most Sundays afternoons (weather permitting), we have social tennis where everyone is welcome to join in.
The old school toilet blocks have the addition of hot showers and all toilet facilities are the flushing type.
Campfires are permitted and there are small mobile fire pits provided so wherever you set up camp you can have your campfire right beside you.
Note: There are no ground fires permitted and at certain times of the year Qld Rural Fire brigade may enforce a total fire ban.

Our farm is home to a wide variety of friendly animals. There are goats, alpacas, chooks, sheep, miniature horses, guinea pigs, birds, peacocks, dogs, cats, cows, turkeys and ducks! You're able to join us in feeding the animals at approximately 8am and 4pm; this is a particularly special experience for children of all ages! You're also welcome to take part in other farm activities when they occur, including collecting chicken eggs in the afternoon!

The property is a short 5 min drive from the Kirkleigh boat ramp and 20 min drive from the spit.
If booking the Ski Shack you have most of the comforts of home in the spacious open plan living, with a bathroom and kitchen.
Plenty of room to park your boats, trailers, and caravans. The kids can run around and play till they are exhausted. The courtesy bus from the Exchange Hotel will pick you up and drop you off Friday and Sat nights,(check before hand).
You will need to take your rubbish with you when you leave.
Fires only in the supplied enclosed fire pits. Fire wood is sold at various locations not far from the property.
Gate code will be provided after booking is confirmed.

Camp Life By The Creek is located 30 minutes west of Gympie in Lower Wonga, on a working cattle property. We have 3 campsites available, each with creek access. We have a 2 bedroom Tiny home set away from camp sites perfect for secluded weekends away.
All sites welcome caravans, camper trailers, swags, and tents. Campfires are permitted at all sites, pending local fire bans. Our property is family-friendly, and all visitors must be self-sufficient.
We respect our neighboring properties, so excessive noise is not permitted. We look forward to meeting you on your next camping adventure!

We had a great Stay at Jimna Base Camp. Took my 8 year old boy camping and we both had the best time - mountain biking, kayaking, swimming, tennis and basketball. Great Spot and Great Facilities.

Very private campspots. Nice little creek but not very deep when we visited. Great for dogs and for a little splash. Amazing dragonflies and trees. Nice fire pit, and tree swing. Good Location close to Kenilworth for a day out.

Love the space the oval provides as more campers joined us it still didnt feel crowded. Toilets/bathroom were very neatly kept and always stocked. Cooking and wash up area provided everything you need in case you forgot your own. All in all an amazing place to camp will definitely be back at some point

We have a lovely stay with our family over the Australia Day weekend. The hosts were very welcoming and friendly and will help you out with whatever you need. If you are coming with younger kids, they'll enjoy it with plenty of farm animals around; horses were a smash hit for ours. There's a creek to swim in nearby and plenty of room to spread out in. I'd recommend a stay if you're looking for a private camp experience.

The campsite had a lovely breeze most of the time we were there, which was great because it was really hot that weekend! The nights were cool and comfortable, we even had a fire one night in the fire pit, complete with numbers side tables for every chair! We’ll definitely be back to camp here.

Absolutely beautiful stay, the family were so kind and helpful. As a single mum I was made to feel safe, offered help, they had my kids tour the farm and feed animals. It is such a gorgeous spot and gave me a lovely wind down before the school term. The locals are super friendly and the sunsets and starscapes are spectacular.

We had such a wonderful time staying at Crystal Waters Eco Park. Pete was so welcoming and accommodating! We feel like this is the ideal park where you get the perks of modern luxurious (hot showers, flushing toilets, laundry, kitchen, wifi, powered sites etc) but still get to feel like you are tucked away in nature. We love the views overlooking the creek and the tranquility of the place. Felt so peaceful waking up to the kangaroos and birds! Our only regret is not staying longer, would love to come back to visit the local markets! Such a beautiful region to visit, highly recommend!

Another successful camping trip to Natures Edge thank you Glen. The property is always impeccable, and we really enjoyed the addition of the “Savvy Lavvy”! We had a lovely time camped under the Pecan trees, they provided beautiful shade during the warmer days and then protected us from the rain. A very short walk down the track took us to the Mary River where we spent many hours. The dogs loved it too. It’s a gorgeous spot and we are very lucky to be able to spend time there. We will definitely be back for more!

Had a lovely one night stay at Bunya Red Farm. Mandy and Alan were very helpful and informative, showers and toilets well maintained, great views across to the Bunya Mountains, peaceful location. Learned a lot about capers, caperberries, peanuts and alpacas.

My 9y daughter and I had the absolute best 4n stay at Kookaburra Park! So many animals to play with, amazing Guinea pig feeding at 8am every morning (giving slow to start parents time to organise Brekky!) and acres to roam around! We loved the amenities, it was great to have a big family sized shower room to use in the barn as well :) Will definitely come again - beautiful and unpretentious site which still feels like real QLD exploration rather than unbleached linen and performative “eco savvy” environment 😍 thank you so much for our time together - something that cannot be over estimated xx

The facilities, camping spot, hospitality and the view was amazing and felt like home.
Unfortunately our 4 night stay wasn't long enough which made packing up to move on a debatable conversation for us.
It's hard to find somewhere like this....

We had the best stay at Mandy & Al’s Property. A working farm and so peaceful and tranquil with lots of space. The Amenities are fantastic and the hosts were legends. We loved the farm tours and there is so much to see and do in the surrounding areas. Our first time visiting the Bunya Mountains region and thoroughly impressed and will definitely be back. Was the perfect getaway from the city and a little slice of farm life to keep the kids active and off the iPad on school holidays. So much fun.

Located a comfortable 1+hr drive distance from Brisbane, this is an amazing peaceful and tranquil spot. Sites were large and very spaced out. The locals (miniature horse, goats, sheep) were so friendly and were the kids' favourite. Host were welcoming, friendly and nice ensuring we had everything we needed.
