We had a real magical time here, Emma was a brilliant host! She showed us and the kids around the farm letting us meet her goats, feed the cows and collect eggs from the chickens. She even brought baby goats down to the camp-site to let the kids feed them milk and meet some very friendly dogs. She even gave us trays of eggs that where collected that day from the chickens! Luckily we got to see a baby cow being born during the night and she walked straight up to meet us in the morning! Your kids will love this spot! Camp site had everything we needed from toilets, showers, fire pit and power. Only a short drive away from other activity spots like lake eacham and yungaburra. Was a lovely trip full of memories will definitely be back

We really enjoyed our stay at Emma's farm stay and camping. Our son loved feeding hay to the cows and collecting eggs from the chooks. And we were given lots of fresh eggs! They tasted great! And they even supplied fire wood. A great spot close to Lake Barrine and Lake Tinaroo. Definitely recommended.

Fantastic spot with level, green, well kept grass. Beautiful outlook of mountains with the Daintree river below. Easy 5 minute stroll to the tiny Daintree township and pub. Peaceful watching the cows and calves directly adjacent to site. Ending up staying 5 nights and used this as our base to visit Port Douglass (45 minute drive), Cooktown and back in a day (long day driving) and the very challenging 4WD Creb track and just time to chill and enjoy the serenity.
Potable water on site is a bonus and helped us extend our stay.

We absolutely loved our stay at Possum Gully. Site 1 was secluded, and while the creek wasn’t fully flowing, it was ankle deep and suited us with our 2.5yo.
We went up the first night to watch the animals being fed and this was the absolute highlight!
I would recommend this to any friends looking for a lowkey stay that’s private and quiet

The site (we had site 3) was very open with plenty of space for tents and cars. It had a bathroom block where we set our portable toilet and shower - Way better than setting up our ensuite.
The creek was minimal during our time (dry season) but still enough to entertain the kids and cool off. With a bit of rain it would be amazing during the wet season. We had local furry creatures visit us a few times when the site was quiet.
Also, on the property, we saw a Frilled Neck Lizard over a metre long... we called him 'Fred'. -Amazing
There are 2 approx. 20 min drives to Mareeba for necessities, we took the back roads. Saw a Brown snake, a lot of rural living and farm land.
The hosts are lovely and respect privacy.
We will be going back without the kids to enjoy the peace Wally's Roost has to offer.

Camped for one night at Site 1 - Possum Gully. This camp site was well maintained, clean and spacious for multiple vehicles with a camp fire pit provided. This was the most secluded site of the three and only a short walk to the portaloo. Phil and Janette were both excellent hosts, supplying us with firewood for our stay. They invited guests to attend their nightly feedings of the wildlife which was a great experience. Janette shared a wealth of knowledge about the animals and we were lucky enough to see many animals, including Sparkles the possum and her new twin babies. I would highly recommend this camp site to others travelling through the Atherton region. I would definitely camp here again.

We had a lovely stay. The camp was well set up with good facilities, and the host was welcoming. A highlight for us was feeding the goats and collecting fresh eggs from the chickens. We also felt very safe throughout our stay, and the location is convenient for exploring the area.
One thing to note is that the paddock is smaller than I expected, and without trees it does feel a bit close to your neighbours. That was really my mistake for not reviewing the listing properly, I usually look for more secluded camping. I just thought it might be helpful to mention for anyone looking for more private spots.
Overall, it was a great experience and I’d happily recommend staying here. Thanks again for hosting us.
