Sightseeing inside the property we have Girard Falls, a 50m deep waterfall, nature at it's best. The only entry into the property is by Emu Creek Rd a gravel road. Emu Creek Retreat is located in the far north-east of New South Wales. We are approximately 200 km from Brisbane, Toowoomba and Gold Coast, 150km from Byron Bay. Tabulam is the nearest town 12km away. Fuel and groceries are available at Tabulam along with a post office, pub and police station. Casino is 68km away and Tenterfield 78km. Once a working cattle property, in the 90's was converted into a camping and 4WD park. Since 2017 has been a family own and operated property, pet friendly, we are using the existing large camping grounds to convert it into a camping paradise. Two properties combined with close to 2800 acres, fronting Paddy’s Flat Rd for 2km and extends 7km to the back fence bordering a 22000 acre cattle property. However if it is dry you can tow a camping trailer but only if you have a winch. If it rains the only way down is backwards tethered to trees via your winch. It's an adventure. Campers are welcome to have a campfire, there is plenty of timber on the ground that you can collect or bring your own. As long as there is no fire ban. There are some great bush walks you can enjoy, including down to the creek (about a 40 min walk). The creek is picturesque with lemon trees and peach trees along the edge while in season. There are 2 sites down at the creek called Firefly's and platypus and these are for off road self contained 4x4 campers and those with a tent. The creek is pristine and crystal clear unless it's raining. These 2 sites are absolutely private if you book them both. If you don't mind sharing the creek with another camper then you only need to book 1 site. There is also a 10 month of the year 30 metre high waterfall (depending on rain fall this waterfall can vary from massive water to slow water) and another seasonal waterfall. Don't forget the dam for swimming with the spa tub and fresh mountain spring water constantly flowing into it from an inch and a half poly pipe constantly overflowing into the dam. Visitors are welcome to bring their own bicycle and cycle on all established tracks. The Valleys campsite is surrounded on all sides with native bushland. Pitch your tent on a grassy field beside the creek and keep an eye out for wildlife, including koalas, wallabies and a huge range of native bird species. Digitally unplug, with no phone coverage at the site, but retain peace of mind with phone coverage available within a 15 minute drive if you need to reconnect with the outside world. On your way here, consider visiting Pioneer Village in Laidley and the local lavender farm. IMPORTANT NOTE: There are no amenities at the campsites and bush toileting or burying waste is strictly prohibited. You must being a camping toilet and toilet waste must be disposed of off site at an appropriate facility.

Welcome to Jugari Riverside Camp for relaxation and excitement. 20 acres riverside is very natural, beautiful view of Mt. Barney. Campsites are mowed and well maintained. Full of wildlife and activities. Very private and away from everyone but close to cafe and pub. You could have 20 acres all for yourself or at least a couple of private acres while camping. Four wheel drive are recommended. All campsites are grassy, shaded. Easy access to the river. Camping, fishing, kayaking, swimming, drifting, bush walking, biking, lots of activities. Shed Cafe is down the road, Rathdowney pub is 10mins. Maroon Dam 15 mins away. Children friendly, family friendly. Birds, Wallabies, Wood ducks lots of native animals. Lots of fun! Locate Rathdowney Logan River Bank.

Beautiful spot! We stayed at Site 2 and had an incredible view of the breathtaking sunset. The tracks definitely require a 4WD as specified, but it was a lot of fun driving around and exploring the area. We saw some beautiful kangaroos near our site when we woke up too! The outdoor shower was definitely the highlight, and all amenities were clean and well stocked. We’ll definitely be back!

We stayed at Lake View, nice and quiet and a lovely view. Heaps of wildlife, wallabies, goanna, King parrots, finches, tree frogs and the list goes on. The host is very nice and friendly. Amenities are clean with hot showers. The kids had a ball boating, fishing and swimming. We will be back.

Lovely private site - no one within eyesight of our camp. 180 degree views were pretty too - looked great during the storm seeing the lightning in the distance. Be warned that the toilet is a fair walk - potentially a drive depending on how desperate you are :-)
