Do you want a place to get away from it all? The 2 Mile Campsite at historical 'Glenelg Station' is it. Offering peace, tranquility, abundance of wildlife and complete privacy. Enjoy camping beside the beautiful McIntyre Brook which is suitable for both swimming and kayaking or just kick back relax unwind and let nature work its magic. We currently only offer one campsite so you have the place all to yourself. Guests will have access to a portable toilet throughout their stay. Campfires are welcome in the fire pit provided but please ensure you check any restrictions before lighting a fire. For complete solitude, there is no phone reception at campsite Pets are welcome to join you, please ensure they are kept under control and that they are cleaned up after.

Located 70kms from the Granite Belt. 50kms from the Coolmunda dam and 60kms from Texas. Quiet, hills with fantastic views of the surrounding countryside. This is a grazing property where you can obseve sheep, cattle, and roos, and if you are lucky a few emus. In the little dams and ponds they drink from you often see ducks and other waterfowl. Gullies with ankle-deep spring-fed seasonal creeks. Are scattered thoughout the property. Pleasant to walk along, many accessed by walking or 4wd track only. Trail bikes or pushbikes welcome. There are great areas to hike, explore, and birdwatch. There is no light pollution so you see the amazing display of stars at night. At the top of each hill is a pleasant view. Nice photos to show off on fb or instagram. Campfires permitted, please make sure you put them out when not attended. Water container top-up, shower, and toilet shed available And a power point to charge phone. No internet. But if you must contact someone, do see us at the house. We now have bush dunnies at various locations. They are long drops. You're welcome to bring your pet, but please ensure they are kept on leash To camp, most people just chose a cleared spot. Popular areas are near the sheaing shed, or emu hollow. Sometimes we have pig hunters . They are down the back. Away from campers for your safety. When they are present some areas on photos are not accessable. Accessable at all times:- House paddock. shearing shed toilets showers, small dam. Hill with a view. Emu Hollow, accessable by high clearence 2wd .it is in a paddock wih pleasnt views and down the bottom is small shallow pleasant creek to sit by and watch cows grazing . Great for a family group or couple to escape the city madness. it has a long drop dunny. Both are 300 acres. If no piggers, the whole 2500 acres is yours to explore. If it rains, or you arrive too late to set up, we have a spare bed room with a double bunk sleeps 2 adjoining the shed near house $30. per night to use. You can also sleep in the shearing shed. And look at the equipent and fill a bag of manure for your garden. We have a few freindly sheep. And you can toss your food scraps to our chooks. Excursions. Coolmunda dam .40k. Phil and Anne are the perfect hosts. This spot (all the camping areas) offer a serene, safe, tranquil environment. Even caught fish! Had the dogs with us and they just loved it. The water was perfect. Taking the grandchildren next trip. Highly recommend.

Loved that we were the only ones here. What a beautiful well maintained area. We enjoyed choosing one of a number of fire pits to set up our camp ovens. There was a port a loo available for use (which we did not use). We “wallowed” in the little rapids of the McIntyre Brooke to cool down and enjoyed watching the stars and satellites during the evening. What a perfect getaway. We laughed at the way the goats “frolicked “ on the rocks across the creek and enjoyed watching the Roos jumping past. Overall, wow , what a great place. ❣️

Beautiful place to stay, love the free roaming goats, wallabies, cows, sheep and emus. The river is full of tabbies and little shrimp and fish and lots of safe areas to let your kids go fishing. Water is deep enough to swim in, we even managed to get our kayaks in the water tho got stuck on rock in a few places.

We absolutely loved our time at Yarran! The most beautiful countryside with the kindest host. Option for showers and loo. We had a beautiful camp fire and watched a storm roll in alongside the kangaroos, emus and sheep. It was quiet and with such a big property it was also private. We can’t wait to come back here!

What a magic spot. Anne met us and led us to a beautiful camp directly on the river bank. Kayaks to use were available so we spent the afternoon heading up and down the river, fishing and relaxing. There were some toilets available and fire pit. Camp spots spread out. All as described but probably even better in person!

What an amazing spot to camp! We were very fortunate to be here when the creek was in good flow and it was lovely and green around. I would 100% camp here again in a heartbeat! We saw so much wildlife and logged at least 20 bird species just watching from the camp. Super easy to get in and out, lovely short walks along the creek and up the hill. Heaps of timber around that’s easy to get to for campfires. So peaceful and private and it sure helped to have the separate loo handy too.

Absolutely loved our stay! The campsite was clean, well organised, beautifully maintained and surrounded by beautiful scenery. Facilities were spotless and Phil & Anne were such welcoming hosts. There’s plenty of space between other campsites, making it the perfect spot to relax and unwind. We’ll definitely be back!

What an amazing and tranquil spot right on the Dumaresq River, next to the Glenarbon Weir, right on the border of NSW and Qld. Phil and Anne have an amazing property and are fantastic hosts! Didn't have any luck with the fishing ... but we are the worst fishing people of all time ;) We only stayed one night this time, but we will be back again soon and will stay longer next time!

This was our second wonderful visit to Glenelg Station. The 2 Mile camp site is very peaceful and secluded. The wel-maintained camping area is huge with several possible tent/caravan sites. Some are shady and all have great views and direct access to the brook. Amanda is a responsive, friendly host and she shares lots of interesting info about the property. So rare to find a beautiful camping area where you can feel totally alone (apart from the cows, sheep, goats, wallabies, kangaroos, birds and frogs that is). It is a great spot to de-stress sitting around a campfire, watching the sunset and listening to the sounds of the bush. We checked out the cottages as well while we were there. They are all well appointed in rustic style complete with claw-foot bath on the verandahs. All are beautifully positioned with views over the brook. Thank you so much Amanda for another relaxing short break. Our dog enjoyed the get away just as much as we did!
