3 nights at Wongalea Fishing and Camping

It's a magnificent location, right on the riverbank. The camping area was extremely well presented. Lionel was very easy to deal with, he met us at the gate and showed us to our camping area. Fire pits were provided. Easy access to the river with our kayaks for a relaxing paddle. During our stay we observed kangaroos and goats drinking on the other side of the river. The bird life is amazing, from sulphur crested cockatoos, kingfishers, parrots and a hawk's nest right near our site where we watched the mother feeding her babies. We had an amazing holiday, Lionel is the perfect host of his little piece of paradise.

Really enjoyed our 3 day stay. Vast space, pretty scenary and solitude. Whist being isolated, the camp sites are well maintained with lots of options. Just be aware its a 17km drive in on a dirt road which is in reasonable condition. Also zero connectivity (which was a great thing!!) if this presents an issue for others.

What a great find! A beautiful peaceful camp on the green banks of the Bracker Creek on Lake Coolmunda. Birdlife a plenty along with kangaroos and emus. Each site is huge and comes with a fire pit with wood. You’ll need a chainsaw and axe to chop it up. Bonus is the quirky CC’s Cafe. Congratulations to the owners. I’ll certainly be staying here again and also recommend it to my caravanning friends.

The camp grounds are very well maintained. Showers were kept very clean. Jane and Luke were very welcoming and helpful and could not do enough to assist their guests. There was a nice amount of space between individual sites allowing for more privacy. There is easy access to the water for fishing or swimming We will definitely return.

Camped at wind break, the owners were very accompanied thank to you Jane. Toilets were clean daily. Caught a big yellow perch in the creek. Swim able creek need to track down a steep hill but had it to ourselves which was nice. The camps are alittle close but neighbours where nice. Will recommend 👍

What a magic spot. Anne met us and led us to a beautiful camp directly on the river bank. Kayaks to use were available so we spent the afternoon heading up and down the river, fishing and relaxing. There were some toilets available and fire pit. Camp spots spread out. All as described but probably even better in person!

A beautiful spot with considerate and thoughtful hosts. The Vet Shed is well provisioned with lots of handy things you’d normally have at home. Everything was clean and ready for our arrival. Very peaceful and tranquil property. Toilets were clean and a valued additional to our camping experience. Canoes were great fun with the kids. Will definitely call in again when heading by that way.
