This property runs cattle and two horses, we also seem to accommodate neighbours goats when they escape their own property. We have an abundance of birdlife, a few hares and the occasional mob of kangaroos like to thunder through the property at dawn and dusk.
Free firewood can be collected around the property and firepits are available. Campfires are subject to authority fire bans.
Day visitors for fossicking/prospecting must book through Hipcamp for insurance reasons.
No motorbikes allowed however bicycles are allowed on the tracks.
Dogs are permitted but must be on a leash at all times for their safety and the safety of the other residents on the property both human and animal.

Weekend Trip to Glenelg Station
The Drover cabin is really special. After a few cold beers in the cooling summer afternoon. Scrubbing yourself clean in the bathtub among the gumtrees and local fauna is truly a peaceful experience. It was wasn’t too hot at night and a fan was provided and already turned on when we arrived.
A fridge, gas stove, hot water as well all the basic things like coffee and pots and pans. It really was a very easy and care free experience.
Reminiscent of a Wild West tv show, sitting on the deck with a book as the light faded, it was like stepping back in time. Old whips, saddle parts, books and many other old trinkets and quirks the more you looked the more you found.
Cozy and romantic for couples and a real intriguing stay for history geeks. Absolutely loved it.

Absolutely great spot and the owners John and Caroline were the best hosts I have experienced. Incredibly friendly, helpful and hospitable! They are the literal shirt off their back type of people.

What a beautiful area with stunning views. The hosts are very accommodating and keep the area really clean and tidy. Plenty of wildlife around and hills to explore. The area we camped was so nice and secluded it felt like we were on our own private property. Incredible place and experience cannot wait to get back to Valley Heights!

Great space. Lovely views and you get mobs of roos pass by, a quick visit from the horses in the morning,and plenty of stars and wildlife in the evening/night. Our 2 dogs loved the swim in the dam. Not far from the small town with all you need. Very private. We were only campers on site for 2 nights 😁. Firepits supplied and an interesting drop toilet. Land was flat enough for our caravan. Choose carefully when you come as there a lot of bindies, unfortunate for our dogs but we know now. Definitely would book here again, loved it.

The Drover was simply amazing to get away to, we were only there for a night it certainly wasn’t enough to stay and enjoy it as much as we would have liked. But our one night was nothing short of perfect, Amanda has done an absolutely fantastic job at creating the perfect feel and vibe of their beautiful land. We stayed at Donnelly’s Keep over the weekend camping and had the most amazing time. It was so peaceful & relaxing. Kicking back sitting around the fire pit watching the stars was just what we all needed.
Our kids had the best time being about to run around and explore without interrupting anyone else.
Such a big open space & the host Katherine was so lovely, she gave us some great tips on places to go in the local area.
We will definitely be back, highly recommend adding this little gem to your list of places to try.

Our family stayed at Donnelly’s Keep camping in May, and it was hard to leave. The property is lush, green, and peaceful — a true escape from the everyday. It’s beautifully secluded, with a large, thoughtfully built fire pit and breathtaking views in every direction.
Our boys had the time of their lives running free, exploring the grounds, and saying hello to the goats, alpacas, and the adorable miniature horse. It was such a joy to see them so happy and engaged with nature.
Kath and Philippe ware incredibly warm and welcoming. From the moment we arrived, we felt at home. Their generosity and care truly made our stay special. We can’t wait to come back.

We loved staying few nights on John & Caz's - Evan-Camp. We really enjoyed our 2 night stay....the dogs loved walking around. Dark skies were fantastic near a fire. Plus it was quiet. Well kept and tidy sites.
We meet the 2 horses, saw cattle and a few mobs of kangaroos.
No gold....but there is always hope for next time
