Nestled on the banks of the Dumaresq River on the QLD/NSW border in Southern Queensland, between Yelarbon, Inglewood and Texas. 'Bushland Hideaway' is a rural property with approx. 1 km of river frontage and is the perfect spot for small or large groups of families to relax, unwind and get away from it all in natures own environment.
We offer clear blue skies during the day and starry skies at night, peaceful large grassy campsites beside the Dumaresq River surrounded by magnificent gum and oak trees shared with native wildlife. All our campsites are readily accessible for all types of vehicles, caravans or RVs.
We welcome quiet, respectful, nature-loving campers who enjoy all that Bushland Hideaway offers including fishing, swimming, canoeing, walking and bicycle tracks, photography etc.
Public waste bins are available at the entrance from the main road, Campfires permitted in designated fire pit areas when the season permits - please check. Firewood is available for sale or BYO.
Clean Porta Loo's or bush toilet's available at each site. Nearest dump point at Yelarbon -23 klm away.

Located 70kms from the Granite Belt. 50kms from the Coolmunda dam and 60kms from Texas. Quiet, hills with fantastic views of the surrounding countryside.
This is a grazing property where you can obseve sheep, cattle, and roos, and if you are lucky a few emus.
In the little dams and ponds they drink from you often see ducks and other waterfowl.
Gullies with ankle-deep spring-fed seasonal creeks. Are scattered thoughout the property. Pleasant to walk along, many accessed by walking or 4wd track only.
Trail bikes or pushbikes welcome.
There are great areas to hike, explore, and birdwatch. There is no light pollution so you see the amazing display of stars at night.
At the top of each hill is a pleasant view. Nice photos to show off on fb or instagram.
Campfires permitted, please make sure you put them out when not attended.
Water container top-up, shower, and toilet shed available And a power point to charge phone.
No internet. But if you must contact someone, do see us at the house.
We now have bush dunnies at various locations. They are long drops.

To camp, most people just chose a cleared spot. Popular areas are near the sheaing shed, or emu hollow.
Sometimes we have pig hunters . They are down the back. Away from campers for your safety. When they are present some areas on photos are not accessable.
Accessable at all times:-
House paddock. shearing shed toilets showers, small dam. Hill with a view.
Emu Hollow, accessable by high clearence 2wd .it is in a paddock wih pleasnt views and down the bottom is small shallow pleasant creek to sit by and watch cows grazing . Great for a family group or couple to escape the city madness. it has a long drop dunny.
Both are 300 acres.
If no piggers, the whole 2500 acres is yours to explore.
If it rains, or you arrive too late to set up, we have a spare bed room with a double bunk sleeps 2 adjoining the shed near house $30.
per night to use.
You can also sleep in the shearing shed. And look at the equipent and fill a bag of manure for your garden.
We have a few freindly sheep. And you can toss your food scraps to our chooks.

If water sports are your thing , a scenic 30 minute drive takes you to the Lesley Harrison Dam 1 hour drive takes to to Stanthorpe and the Wineries Breweries and Distilleries.

Hart Hill boasts a stunning 28 acres. Your initial view of the property coming over a Thanes Creek causeway is that of a magnificent rock face. However, 600m down the road, through the gate, and over the ridge, Hart Hill exposes a lovely undulating fold baring a huge panorama of flat alluvial ground that hugs Thanes Creek.
Sprinkled with gums, the camping area is based west of the property in a stunning shady lea cooled by the creek and an old windmill for a backdrop.
The properties history is colourful. In 1869 the area was a hub for gold diggers wanting to strike it lucky. Old wooden stumps tell a story of an old mining hut, and if you dug in some of the rock heaps you might get a shock when you uncovered more than gold.
Visitors can enjoy campfires, fossicking, including swimming, kayaking, fishing and more dependant on seasonal changes to the creek.

Couldn’t have asked for a better over night stay! My 2 dogs loved having the place to themselves and watching the goats climb the rock face (we did too) it was so peaceful and not having to worry about camping neighbours was a plus. The portaloo was an added bonus too. Neat and tidy campsite and the host was amazing. We will be back!!

Lovely quiet & relaxing place to stay. Multiple large open areas to choose from to set up camp, the dogs absolutely loved being able to explore around the property & play in the dam. Do yourself a favour & check out Mark & Siv's coffee being roasted too. Will definitely be back for another trip

Weekend Trip to Glenelg Station
The Drover cabin is really special. After a few cold beers in the cooling summer afternoon. Scrubbing yourself clean in the bathtub among the gumtrees and local fauna is truly a peaceful experience. It was wasn’t too hot at night and a fan was provided and already turned on when we arrived.
A fridge, gas stove, hot water as well all the basic things like coffee and pots and pans. It really was a very easy and care free experience.
Reminiscent of a Wild West tv show, sitting on the deck with a book as the light faded, it was like stepping back in time. Old whips, saddle parts, books and many other old trinkets and quirks the more you looked the more you found.
Cozy and romantic for couples and a real intriguing stay for history geeks. Absolutely loved it.

A beautiful and peaceful area that was lovely for a quiet weekend of camping! We saw plenty of wildlife - including emus! - and the stars were incredible at night. It was quite hot and many of the bodies of water on the property were too small or weedy for swimming, but there was a nice breeze and plenty of shade to help keep us cool. Also worth noting that although it is not 4WD access only, the road up to the house is very bumpy and rocky, and you can’t reach all camping areas in a small car. Overall a lovely place to stay though, and perfect if you’re looking for some privacy and a relaxed getaway.

I had booked the windbreak site which had been taken when I got there but still found a lovely spot. Nice quiet campsite with good amenities. Lovely hosts 😊 could hear a koala bellowing across the creek at night and saw a Pacific Baza in the morning. Had a great time with my dog.

This was our second stay at Bushland Hideaway by the River. Choosing The Great Divide for our recent stay was an amazing choice. There is plenty of shady trees, and sunny areas to recharge your solar. The grounds are very well maintained and you get the luxury of bush camping with a porta loo provided that is clean and stocked with toilet paper.
Anne & Phil are amazing hosts. They greet you at the gate and show you around, and then give you your privacy to enjoy your stay.
We cannot recommend this camp site enough. If you like peace, quiet, privacy, river swims, fishing, and the space to unwind from the daily grind then this place is perfect.
When next visiting the area, we will definitely be booking again.

I had a beautiful overnight stay at Glenarbon at Phil and Annes place. They met me at the main gate and drove me to the campsite - a cleared flat site right next to the river with an adjacent portaloo. There were some other campers a little further along the river who like me, kept to themselves and were quiet. I swam in the river and had a quiet restful nights sleep before getting up the next morning, having another swim and heading on my way. (I was travelling from QLD to SA)
I am really grateful for property owners like Phil and Anne for making their property available for the public to camp on. The camp spot was clean, felt really safe - particularly as I am a woman travelling solo, and the owners were readily contactable.

Oh what an amazing property to switch off, relax and get back to nature! When you first arrive you are greeted by Mark and Siv who will show you to your site and take the time to help you find the best spot to setup and give you a rundown of the property. We stayed at the Hidden Dam site which is powered and Mark and Siv provide an extra long extension lead to allow you to setup anywhere on this site! Hidden Dam has a lovely dam you can swim in complete with row boat and inflatable dock! The site is spacious with both plenty of shade from the sun but also sunlight to recharge any solar setups and a firepit with ample firewood within walking distance of the site! Couldn't recommend this site, the property or the owners any higher and we can't wait to head back again!!!

We had a great 6 day stay at Stones Corner, a proper country stay. The sites were huge we had 2 Ute's a camper and 2 swags still had a heap of room to move out of each others way.
The toilets were clean and well kept and nearly one to a site.
The river views from our site were great and nothing better to cool off in the afternoon with a swim.
The boys loved feeding the fish bait daily but only pulled 1 Carp out.
The fact that Phil & Anne let you drive the full length of the river inside their property is great.
Thanks for an awesome stay Phil & Anne we will be back.
Ps with only an hour to Gundy or 40 min to Texas it’s an easy explore to get supplies if you run out.
