It is 10km to the upgraded Fitzroy River/Thompson Point boat ramp and pontoon. Enjoy some excellent fishing and crabbing on the river, bird watching and bush walking up the many hills. For small groups of campers we have available a hot shower and septic toilets.There is an abundance of wildlife to be seen as well as a 7km walking/bicycle track available to stretch out weary muscles. For fishing/crabbing enthusiasts it is a 15km 4 wheel drive access to Sandfly boat ramp for fishing and crabbing or 26km for a 2 wheel drive and larger boat to Ramsey's boat ramp located at The Narrows. Excellent fishing!Campfires are permitted with wood included (when restrictions aren't in place). Dogs allowed and must be on leash at all times.SPECIAL EVENTS: During the weekends only of QLD school holidays, we are open for motorbike trail rides. You need to have an MQ license and be part of a motorcycle club (we have our insurance with Motorcycling Queensland). If unsure please ask. This means things are a bit noisier on the weekends of school holidays. :)

You will see kangaroos and lots of bird life to watch. Our region is well known for surfing, however Agnes Water and 1770 are also home to calm inlets tailor-made for stand-up paddleboarding and kayaking. BYO paddleboard or explore the coastline and waterways by kayak. You can even paddle past Captain Cook’s landing point and on towards the headland to watch the sun set over the ocean (a rare sight on Australia’s East coast). Follow the trail or take your mountain bike along boardwalks and across stepping stones on the 1.5 hr, 3km Red Rock Trail. You can start your adventure at the end of Springs Beach and head south along rocky trails peppered with pandanus palms all the way to the far end of Red Rock Beach. This campsite suits self-contained campers who bring their own camping toilet/shower. There is access to drinking water and a picnic table for meals. You will see kangaroos and lots of bird life to watch. Our region is well known for surfing, however Agnes Water and 1770 are also home to calm inlets tailor-made for stand-up paddleboarding and kayaking. BYO paddleboard or explore the coastline and waterways by kayak. You can even paddle past Captain Cook’s landing point and on towards the headland to watch the sun set over the ocean (a rare sight on Australia’s East coast). Follow the trail or take your mountain bike along boardwalks and across stepping stones on the 1.5 hr, 3km Red Rock Trail. Ian and Tracy’s place was a peaceful, well-organised spot that made my first Hipcamp stay an easy yes to recommend. ## Peaceful setting - The setting had a calm, **quiet** feel that made it very easy to switch off and relax. - The site offered a real sense of space and privacy, so it never felt crowded or rushed. ## Well organised campsite - Everything was clearly set up and simple to navigate, from arrival through to finding the campsite and facilities. - The space was tidy and well cared for, which added to the feeling of comfort and ease during the stay. ## Helpful, welcoming hosts - Ian and Tracy were genuinely friendly and responsive, happy to answer questions and make sure everything went smoothly. - Their communication and guidance meant there was no stress, just a relaxed stay on land they clearly appreciate and look after. ## For future Hipcampers - Expect a peaceful, private place to unwind, with plenty of room to enjoy nature. I'm looking forward to returning in the winter to use the fire pits.

Fantastically kept camp site! Very well priced, very clean toilets and showers and even have free washing machine use. Lovely quiet space to enjoy the outdoors. I got there quite late but the caretaker still came out to greet me and show me the facilities.

We had a really great stay here. The host was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and genuinely helpful. When we were going to grill, he not only came over to help us get everything ready, but he also sat with us while we grilled and we had a wonderful conversation. He even let us borrow some of his own kitchen equipment when we were missing a few things. Small gestures like that truly make a big difference.

We stayed at Site 5, overlooking the dam, and it was so peaceful and relaxing. We loved meeting the friendly cows and farm dogs, and our Labrador, Ralphy, especially enjoyed cooling off in the dam — a perfect escape from the heat. The setting was beautiful, the atmosphere tranquil, and the hosts were just the right balance between warm hospitality and privacy. A truly lovely stay.

A real gem! Quiet and clean, and the facilities and price can’t be beat! The birds and wildlife up there were incredible! It also got nice and cool in the evening, which was a huge relief after sleeping near Cairns for a couple weeks. A little tip- there *is* plenty of space…. But if you want flat and shady ground (near the back or side), and don’t want to cram in next to someone—come early. If that’s not possible though, and you can stay another night, set up bare bones the first nightand wait until the next morning. A ton of people left pretty early and I could move to a prime location if I wanted. Les was also great. Very helpful and friendly.

Camp Kuna exceeded my expectations in every way. As a local, I'm always searching for quality camping spots, and this one definitely earned a place on my return list. The facilities were impressively well-maintained and spotlessly clean. The kitchen came equipped with all the essentials you'd need, which made meal prep a breeze. I particularly loved the fire pits – they were thoughtfully designed and added the perfect ambiance to our evenings. The campground offers plenty of shady spots, which is a huge plus for staying comfortable during the day. The location is ideal, with just a short, easy walk down to the river. It's close enough to be convenient but far enough to feel like you're truly escaping into nature. Even though I live nearby, I'd absolutely camp here again. It's the perfect balance of comfort and outdoor experience. Highly recommended for both locals looking for a quick getaway and travelers passing through the area.
