We have 178 acres of beautiful land hidden in the hills of Tarome in the Scenic Rim community. An amazing view of the national park and Cunninghams Gap. There is a hidden creek at the back of the property that never runs dry, running from Gap Creek Falls at the top of Cunninghams Gap. The location is perfect for a quick getaway or long stay, complete privacy and little reception depending on your phone service, ensuring a peaceful camping stay. There is lots of activities within a short drive from the property including fishing at Lake Moogerah, hiking the mountain tops or having brunch at the amazing local cafe's in the area. Our campsites are hidden in the hills, down by the creek or out in the open. You will need a 4 WD to access the rear of the property. There is a steep incline at the beginning of the track followed by a tight corner because of this caravans must be off road and under 17 ft. Make sure your car has the power and weight to get it up the hill. There are 3 x 2WD camping options for caravans over 17ft or those not off road. Depending on the type of vehicle and van will dictate your camping locations. Maximum caravan access for the rear of the property is 17ft off road van. This is due to the hill climb and a tight corner at the top. Please be aware of the weight you are towing and your car is capable of pulling it up the hill. Dogs are welcome but must stay within the camp, be under control or on a leash. If you have friends who you want to invite but don't have camping gear that's okay, we have the option to hire a camper trailer. All they need to bring is food and drinks. We have a variety of campsites to choose from. . Camping is presently basic as we are building it up and is better suited for campers with fully equipped 4WD. Not all sites have toilets we ve now 3 toilets 1 bottom space 1 mid and 1 at top . Some campsites are more secluded than others, some have toilets some dont and of course great views. The kids will love toasting marshmallows around the campfire in the evenings. Sit back, relax and gaze at the stars. Pets welcome. The property is hilly and may be unsuitable for camper homes. Aroona Farm is a 200-acre cattle property run and owned by a young family of 4. 'Aroona' is an aboriginal word meaning "place of refreshing" or "place of running water" which represents this beautiful property well with its natural springs that open up out of the mountain, into a 'forest-like' section of the property and runs into the gully. We also have Acacia Creek that runs through the front which is the head of the Clarence River. Feel free to have a splash in the refreshing water with a couple of swimming holes. We love camping here, this is one of our favourite places to camp near Brisbane. My husband enjoyed the challenge of driving over the big hill to the camping site. Phil was very friendly and Alannah was very prompt in replying to my messages. The camping sites are big and we had the whole place to ourselves. We really enjoyed the creek and the water hole is great to cool off during the day. We will definitely come back and try different camping site in the property.

Jan came to greet me upon arrival which was really nice as it made me feel very welcome on her property. Jan goes to a lot of effort to make the camp sites a nice place to stay. I had a delightful spot well away from the other sites and all to myself. The site was right on the water and well maintained so no fear of snakes. Total privacy and peace of mind that dogs can be off leash without any trouble. Was very happy to have two nice shady trees and a campfire at the site. Just sad I didn’t know this place existed sooner.

We loved camping at Gleneden! Rohan and his wife were very welcoming, invited us to watch the cows being milked, helped collect eggs from the chickens and saw the pig and geese getting fed. Our campsite was located right next to their two rams so our toddler woke up every morning shouting SHEEP. The creek was also great for the kids for scrambling on the rocks and playing. Would definitely go back again.

We started out at Long Crossing, but, thanks to the kindness of Bernie, changed to Silky Oak (the road was just a little too close for our personal preference at Long Crossing). Silky Oak was a beautiful campsite! Wildflowers everywhere and the river so close. Very green and peaceful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be back! Thanks Bernie and Jo.

Weekend Trip to Higgins Country Retreat

Great little spot. Plenty of room at site 1 for an off road caravan roof top tent and swags for the kids. With room to spare. Plenty of fire wood around with a nice pile left for us on arrival. Short walk down the bank to a nice sallow spot for the smaller kids to swim or a short walk up stream for a bit deeper water. Heaps of wild life to see. Only a short drive back onto Warwick for when you inevitably forget to pack something. Will definitely be back again.
