Framed by the rugged border range National Parks "Mindoo" is 1100 acres of rolling green hills dissected by the pure, cascading, waters of the Cataract River which provide a number of private riverside campsites. Campers are encouraged to meander along the continually changing River and explore its many secluded swimming holes and enjoy the abundant wildlife that cohabitates with the Angus/Wagyu cow herd. Direct access to the neighbouring National Parks and State Forests offers an array of day trips to hikers, mountain bikers, or horse riders where they can discover the natural treasures of Basket Swamp and Boonoo Boonoo Falls, Woolool Woolooni, among others. For those who require a little more comfort, and lets face it we all do at times, the Mindoo Cabin is available. Featuring three bedrooms, open plan living/dining/kitchen,and a shady deck overlooking the River the cabin sleeps eight and still allows visitors to partake in all the adventures that "Mindoo" offers with the benefit of a comfortable rest when the day is done. Unfortunately horse riding is no longer covered by our insurance policy. You are able to bring your horses, however evidence of your own insurance policy must be provided. Be as adventurous or as restful as you please as both options are freely available. Mountain Biking, Hiking, or just riding your hammock and relaxing we are sure you will enjoy your time at "Mindoo". All of our river sites are designated and are space apart. As most of our sites are on the river and have farm tracks to access, if it is wet we may have to move you to a different site. 4wds are recommended for all sites and are required for some site. Please read the listing for the campsite you are wanting to book. Some of our sites do not suit caravans. All roads require high clearance vans. If you do not like dogs or your own dogs are not very sociable Mindoo may not be the place for you. Daisy the Doodle (Golden Retriever/Poodle) and Paul the Pig Dog (a very gentle Bull Mastif/Catahoula) like to come and say hello to campers at The Park & The Junction. There is currently only one camping site accessible by car (the River Block), but if you're up for a trek we can point you to the back hills where you'll find a whole other world. Your hosts live further back on the property so you can find us if you need help. Please note there is no mobile reception, so it is a great way to get away from it all. There are no bins here... please remove all your rubbish on departure. Campfires are welcome (when no fire ban). You can bring your own firewood, or gather what fallen timber you can find. Koala is a B E A U T I F U L spot. If I knew I would have planned for a longer stay. Falling asleep to the river rapids was divine. The space was huge for kids to kick a ball and not hit the water or the camp. Maintained green grass. Directions spot on. A short welcome by the host. If we ever go back through Tenterfield I would stay again for sure!

Awesome location, great place to explore. Pristine waterfalls & rock pools around the property with some great views too. The cascades area looks like something out of a movie set absolutely beautiful. A definite must do! Just remember you'll need a 4x4 to get around & some campsites are not accessible for caravans.

Beautiful place to stay, love the free roaming goats, wallabies, cows, sheep and emus. The river is full of tabbies and little shrimp and fish and lots of safe areas to let your kids go fishing. Water is deep enough to swim in, we even managed to get our kayaks in the water tho got stuck on rock in a few places.

Wow what a fantastic location to camp. Private and peaceful. The river is a standout with its clear flowing water (albeit very cool haha) but such a wonderful place to pass a sunny afternoon with a few cold beverages. Access to the property is very straightforward and easy. Communication with Prue was also very simple and clear.

We stayed in our caravan at the Koala camp site right at the waters edge with the tranquil sounds of water making its way between the rocks heading down stream. Crystal clear cool waters. Upon arrival to our site I wondered why we hadn’t been here before. Definitely Gods country with pastures of rolling hills and stunning views as far as the eye could see. To be awakened each morning with mothers and calves calling out to each other. Some beautiful relics of days gone by. Access into the property and to the creek camp site was easily accessible with caravan in tow. Short country drive into Tenterfield. We had shower and toilet in our caravan but there is a demountable building with bathroom and toilet facilities which was very clean and tidy. Can’t wait to book this camp again. You won’t find another like this. Just a breathtaking property.
