1 night at Ahana Hillside

We loved staying here, Kanwal made sure we had everything we needed and more (fresh coconuts for example). The amenities are undergoing a big overhaul which is nice, the shower is already new. The ambience was great. All you could hear at night were the animals out in the forest, we had hoped to see some but weren‘t as lucky. Tip: bring a torch if you don‘t want to step on a toad when you go to the toilet at night.

Camped in the 2wd van and had no troubles with access. Had access to electricity, toilets and showers were clean and close by. Woke up to cows and chickens. Great dam on the property and kayaks available. Good location if exploring the tablelands and excellent price compared to other spots in the region!

Friendly, welcoming hosts. Great place for kids. Large grassed area. Good amenities with hot shower. Kids had a great time paddling the kayaks on the dam, feeding the cows and collecting eggs. Firewood provided. Highly recommended.

2 nights at Tully Mountain Views

We camped at Dam Site 1 and it was phenomenal. Such a beautiful, serene spot. It felt very private and Sheree came and introduced herself on the first day and informed us of the local attractions. We were delighted to see fireflies at night and have some resident turtles come say hello. The grass was well maintained in the area and the dam was crystal clear and refreshing swimming. We will visit again

Our host was wonderful and welcoming. The property is beautiful. The facilities are clean and all that we needed for the night. She made a suggestion to go up the road to Alligators Nest River/creek. Camp sites are located around the dam and waterfall with views of the Tully mountains and Tully town with the mill stacks in the far distance. Come and enjoy our peaceful spot. It is a 5 minute drive to Alligators Nest which is the local swimming hole with crystal clear water but with no alligators, or try our local Feluga Pub for a coldie or a great pub meal a few minutes up the road. So come breathe in the fresh air and wake up the sounds of our beautiful bush birds. Fire wood available for a small fee. Please take all rubbish with you on departure.

Currently, looks like the wet is over. The river has cleared up and back to near normal flow. Expect it to be great for Easter Please note, our rates are per vehicle per night ( if you have an additional vehicle, just book an additional site, this will avoid overcrowding) There is NO access to our property from Kuranda end! Visitors need to go through Mareeba A beautiful 160 acre paddock that you can enjoy. Cleared slashed areas beside the river. Enjoy a river swim to cool you down during summer and go for a cold dip during winter. River is also good for fishing during the right season. Access to river is 100 metres on graded walking track. Unless you have a ‘booster ’there is no mobile coverage or internet. {enjoy the peace and solitude} Access to the property is fourteen kilometres gravel, coming off the highway. Sites are private separated from each other. Site is 300 metres from road and provides privacy. Tents and small caravans are ideal. Not suitable for highway caravans or very large vans as the access will be too rough. There are walking areas at rear of property. Be aware tropical North Queensland has paralysis ticks and we have snakes at times and visiting pigs. Water can be supplied upon request. Power generators are permitted . There may be minimal mobile service with Telstra. Campfire will only be permitted within fire pit. All campers will need to be self contained and leave no trace behind. Checkout is generally when you feel like it. Dog friendly. Site may be closed in the wet season from December to April, once monsoonal events occur

Our 20-acre exotic fruit farm backs onto World heritage rainforest and provides a relaxing base for which to explore the wet tropics south of Cairns. We have a beautiful freshwater swimming hole down the road, and also the Mulgrave River is very close if you want to do some fishing.The camping area is large, grassy and reasonably level, with space closer to the tree line, and space more out in the open. There is a firepit provided, and plenty of firewood around the place for you to help yourself to. We also welcome four-legged family members! We have had recent sightings of cassowary on our property so keep an eye out, you might just see one!We prefer self-contained campers, who have their own amenities, but we do have a toilet and shower up at the main house (about 50 metres away) you are welcome to use if needed. This is an unused bathroom downstairs so you will still have privacy. Access into the property is not suitable for large motorhomes. Entry will be too small for vehicles approx 8.5 metres long and 3.5 metres high.We grow exotic fruit on the property including limes, pomelos, mangosteens and more. When it's in season, you're welcome to sample some! Gordonvale is the nearest town, with a quiet historic charm, just 15 minutes drive away, while Cairns is around 25 minutes.

The campsite is located 13 minutes from the coastal town of Innisfail and scenic Etty Bay with its peaceful beaches. Cairns CBD is also only a 1 hour drive. Friendly wallabies and tropical birds also like to share this delightful property with our guests and the occasional cassowary may also pay a visit. Nature lovers will certainly appreciate this picturesque location. If you love adventure, Garradunga sits on the doorstep of many beautiful outdoor adventures. Hike in the surrounding national parks; cycle or mountain bike on one of the many rainforest trails; fish or spot crocodiles in the Johnstone River – take a crocodile cruises; white water raft along the exhilarating Tully River; take a dip at the Babina Boulders or Josephine Falls; or snorkel the Great Barrier Reef. Set up camp and use the property as your base to explore the Cassowary Coast, Atherton Tablelands and the Great Barrier Reef. Toilet and shower facilities are available (please supply your own toilet paper). The property has limited tank water only. Guests must also bring their own drinking and washing up water and must take all waste with them upon departure. Fire is allowed only within existing firepits. Other existing on-site facilities (including water) are not available to campers at present however we look forward to sharing the facilities and other accommodation options with you soon. We welcome you to share our property!
