KUR-Cow Farm was once known as Barnwell Farm. Coffee was extensively grown throughout the Kuranda/Myola region in the early 1890's until frosts wiped out large numbers crops in the early 1900's. Robert William Warren purchased portions of the land at Barnwell in the 1890s and established a coffee plantation on the property which was named "Downtown Farm." Dairy cattle were bought to Barnwell by William Henry Barnwell in 1936 and by 1939 he had managed to successfully establish for a dairy farmer and was advertising for a dairy hand with remuneration of 25 shillings per week and keep. Dairy cattle remained on the property until some point following World War II. It has been said that William Henry Barnwell was one of the earliest cattle farmers in the Myola and Kuranda areas to carry Droughtmaster cattle. He was well regarded as a 'cattle man' in the Myola area. Opening to public in August 2018, Barnwell Farm now welcome visitors daily from all over the world. Weekend Trip to Ginya Mija Wamban (Camp I Built)

You will not fault this hidden gem. It is just absolutely stunning. If you love nature then this is all you could ask for. It is Peaceful, warming, it has privacy and most definitely you feel at home. I camped with 3 kids and we loved every moment of it. Reconnecting with nature is the most uplifting thing you can do. Kim and Andre are just amazing host, they shared fresh herbs and eggs which made us feel very apart if them. Just beautiful people all round, we will definitely be returning.

Excellent stay! The site is perfectly private, a great blend of cosy comfort in the cabin and charming campfire under the gumtrees and stars. Beautifully maintained and well stocked with everything you need. Andre and Kim were the real stars of the stay! More than just friendly hosts, they are warm and welcoming and generous—even saving us from a few disasters! Will definitely be back, thanks so much for looking after us!

Weekend Trip to Ginya Mija Wamban (Camp I Built)

This is a beautiful campsite that you essentially have for yourself. Comes with all the amenities to make travelling easy. Had a comfy bed in a heated room, little fridge for the essentials, reasonably well equiped outdoor camp kitchen, plenty of firewood and a much needed hot water shower. Our daughter loved the sandpit, the toys that came with it and enjoyed walking around wild flower picking. The dog enjoyed being on a runner and walks down to the creek. Kim and Andre were amazing hosts, and were ready to support when needed. Highly recommend and look forward to going back

Love love love what Andre and Kim have set up at the back of their property. Our stay exceeded our expectations, the camp kitchen, the comfy bed, linen, the ghost gums, firepit, outdoor shower, Kim generously sharing her home grown produce, the gas heater to warm up the suite on those really cold nights. We’ve made lots of new family memories as a result and feel oh so relaxed.

Weekend Trip to KUR-Cow Farm Stay

Wow ‘s experience at Kurcow farm stay. Amazing scenes from morning to evening . Great escape journey from city and work life , walk distance to the nature of rainforest and wildlife( horse , cows, ponny, goats….) . Amazing hosts Ken and Helen are very welcome for our visit. Introducing us the facilities and activities horse riding, ATV while we stay. Never forgettable farm experience . Love it! Thank you! Definitely come back again! Highly recommended to people for who loves luxury camping experience.

Weekend Trip to Ginya Mija Wamban (Camp I Built)

We had a lovely time at Andre and Kims. Such an easy trip with the fully stocked camp kitchen, hot shower and cosy cabin. Lots of little thoughtful touches from the hosts including candles, towels, fresh herbs and a pumpkin which we roasted in the fire. To top it off, we were treated to an epic display of fireflies in the evening! And a beautiful waterful just a few minutes down the road. Highly recommend for a restful weekend trip, we will be back 😊
