Welcome to A lovely, secluded streamside campsite. With a private maintained streamside camping area of aprox 1 acre on a ten acre property, surrounded by rain forrest and farmland.
Kids are welcome to join small farm activities, feeding chickens and cows, collecting eggs and harvesting fruit trees when fruit is available.
Some very special wildlife for the quite observer including regular sitings of platypus and tree kangaroos.
We also regularly see the Ulysses and cairns bird wing butterflies with glow bugs being fairly common in the warmer months.

This area is usually 5-10 degrees cooler than Cairns and does not get the summer humidity.
Firewood and fireplaces provided, any small change donations for firewood are not required but they are appreciated and helps us provide abundant firewood for your stay.

Campers need to be self contained, no toilets on site.

Our Hipcamp, (owners on site), is small scale to minimise environmental impact; we have six sites spaced well apart for privacy; each site catering up to two adult guests only (18+) and one vehicle. * Camp 5 permits 1 dog see Rules when booking; All other campsites strictly No Pets * Solo travelers are encouraged to book, many who have commented not feeling overwhelmed by large groups or too isolated.
If you are booking for others please let them know they will need to set up at their booked site. Please do not invite additional guests to enter the property.
You will need to be fully self-contained: own toilet, drinking water, shower.
Our Hipcamp is situated in a cool climate, away from the humidity of the coast. A highlight is beautiful permanent Flaggy Creek which meanders its way through the property for approximately 1 km and is habitat to platypus, turtles and an abundance of bird life (we are close to an ebird hotspot) with towering blue and rose gums. Take a dip on a hot day in one of several water holes including a large lagoon adjacent a mini waterfall surrounded by beautiful she-oaks. There are walks on mowed tracks around the property (look for large eastern grey kangaroos in the top paddock) including along a dam wall where you might spot herons or rainbow bee eaters (seasonally) and we can give you directions to a fire-trail to hike up to the Bluff. Herberton (10 mins) also has many excellent walking trails.
All camp sites have their own fire pit (local conditions and/or state fire ban season permitting). We sell large crates of split firewood for $20 or you can collect your own. Please do not bring firewood for biosecurity reasons.
During the wet season (December-April) we recommend 4WD to access the property as there is a concrete causeway creek crossing and on rare occasions this can become impassable with an extreme amount of rain but does go down very quickly once rain has eased. Please take care and go slowly on unsealed roads.

On our Farm, we grow an extensive variety of Tropical Heliconia and Ginger for use in the Australian Cut Flower Industry as well as Vanilla in our shade house for food products your welcome to learn about the farm and its operations.
We are a grate spot to explore the surrounding areas, Josephine falls swimming and Hiking Mt Bartle Frere, Babinda town , Babinda Boulders swimming and hiking , Eubenangee Swamp to spot crocs
Bramston Beach, Franklen islands reef out of Deeral, Innisfail, Etty bay to see cassowary and Paronella Park at Mena Creek

What a gem! Do yourselves a favour and stop in here, it was amazing! We walked through the track Mike told us about, found the platypus and then further on we found the gorgeous waterfall! And you have all this to yourself, one of the best campsites we’ve stayed in on our five month road trip so far!

A beautiful, peaceful campground nestled among towering gum trees. The abundant birdlife, crystal-clear dark skies perfect for stargazing and spotting satellites, and the chance to see a platypus in the creek make this a truly special place.
We were fortunate enough to have the campground entirely to ourselves, making our weekend escape even more relaxing. Site 5 is the only dog-friendly campsite, and with the resident platypus in the creek, it’s easy to understand and appreciate why. It’s a tranquil little retreat that we would happily return to

What a wonderful little place.
Erica was a terrific host, very friendly and super helpful.
The site is private with amazing views, it is the only hipcamp site on the property and you have the area to yourself.
There is a bore water tank you can use also.
Lots of improvements happening to the site to make it better for future hipcampers.
We got to be the first to try the outdoor claw foot bath tub watching the sun set.
Highly recommended and we hope to visit again.
Wish more hipcamp properties offered privacy like Baroomby Bush Camp

A friend and I stayed for the weekend, and we loved it! So peaceful, with gorgeous sites and views, especially with the creek so close by. With only a few sites, so you’re guaranteed privacy, and no matter where you’re staying, toilets and showers are just a short walk away. Highly recommend! :)

We had a wonderful stay at Heidi's campsite. Heidi was incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel at home from the moment we arrived. The campsite was spacious, peaceful, and well maintained, with plenty of firewood available, which made our evenings around the campfire even more enjoyable. We also loved the beautiful bush walk leading to a lovely little waterfall—it was a great bonus to our stay. We highly recommend this campsite to anyone looking for a relaxing nature getaway, and we would happily stay here again.

Review direct from my kids.."Hectic Valley was amazing! We wanted to stay for two months! Playing with the animals everyday was the best!". Kirsty, Ann and Steven were so helpful. The Waterfront site was a little windy at times (winter) but great access to the water and farm for petting the animals. We'll be back!

My child wanted to come for their birthday last year, my younger child loved so much we had to come back for their birthday.
The camping spot was amazing. Nice and secluded, water safe for the children, plenty of space for them to run around. We had kayaks, SUP boards, hours of fun.
Each morning the farm was great as always. My children just sit for hours with the small chick's they enjoyed the company while doing so. The other children loved feeding every other animal on the farm. Such big smiles after the interactions.
The wood was dropped off to us, and toilet paper topped up. Everybody approachable when we had minor issues (hornets which can't be helped) and dealt with straight away and with a smile. Nothing too much.
Thank you again for great company, happy tired children and fantastic memories.
We will see you again.

Loved the middle paddock, we had power & water as part of our stay, it was secluded from main house with trees and hedges. The serenity was great, enjoyed listening to the birds and having peace & quiet away from the busy streets of Cairns. Dogs were able to be on a long lead to ensure they didn’t wonder off and disturb others and with only a Short drive in to town for supplies … Highly recommend to anyone.

Pandanus was far enough away to feel like we had the whole place to ourselves, and yet just a little wander away from the farm house for fresh eggs and firewood. Shaded spot full of trees for hammocks, and a wonderful central firepit for all 11 of us to sit around long into the night.

Enjoyed my stay, nice spot that guests are lucky to have access too. Facilities were clean, area was peaceful and quiet. Does get a bit expensive for extended stays, but the value feels fair enough for what you get out of it.
Just beware that it's an active farm with cattle, so there's a few landmines on the way in which is fair (not within the site though, as it's fully fenced off). So wear shoes that you don't getting a bit dirty on the way in/out when navigating the gates.
