Darwin is the gateway to the amazing Kakadu and Litchfield National Parks. There are many popular waterfront areas with several beaches including Lee Point and Casuarina. While sightseeing, make sure you visit the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory, The War Museum and Aviation Museum. For outdoor enthusiasts, there are some good fishing and biking trails.
We are located on a 5-acre block in the Northern Suburbs. The top 2 acres are laid out in a tropical garden setting, with the other 3 acres set out with native Darwin plants visited by lots of native animals and birds. We have a variety of native birds on the property and are close by to local bird watch areas.
You'll feel like you're a whole world away yet you will only be 2 minutes from the supermarket, 5 minutes from a large shopping centre, and 15 minutes from Darwin's CBD.
We are a small boutique site and only have 5 powered sites and 8 non powered sites on the 5 acres. Your site is private and you will be able to enjoy your stay without interference from others. The property has a secured gate that requires fob access and a security entrance camera.
IMPORTANT: Each site can accommodate 2 adults MAX. If you have 3 or 4 adults, you will need to book two sites.
Please note The Bounganvillea site is open all year round and has a concrete base. Other sites are dependant on weather and access.

Hillier Hideaway is a beautiful 5-acre property located 2 minutes from Coolalinga Central.
With 4 well shaded, spacious sites this is the perfect place to pull up and explore Darwin and its surrounds. Sites are not visible from the road and there are no dirt bike tracks or open land adjoining the property, making this a very secluded and safe site.
We can accommodate vans up to 24 feet and have 1 dedicated site for either a camper trailer or tent.
All sites have no power or water, so you will need to be fully self-sufficient. There is however a single shower and toilet for use if needed. There is a dump point at the Caravan Park across from Coolalinga Central that can be used for a small fee.
All sites are well maintained with plenty of shade, please note during the dry season the grassed area will die off.
There will be areas allocated for small campfires and guests must follow fire bans as the restrictions come up.
There are wild peacocks that come in at dawn and dusk to get their daily feed, guests are welcome to come watch, Burdekin ducks and possums at night.
Pets are allowed however dogs must remain on a lead as there is allot of wildlife that call the property home.

The Sandpalms Roadhouse is a two minute drive away. They offer fuel, a cafe style menu, with special nights for a roast or a woodfired pizza, They are a licensed, family friendly establishment.
There is often wildlife visiting our property so keep an eye out whilst enjoying your time at camp. Enjoy listening to the sounds of nature while sitting around your campfire.
We also have a toilet and shower available for campers. Pets are welcome but must be kept on a leash upon arrival and under your control at all times. Due to not having an area waste removal program in Bynoe it is appreciated that you take all waste with you.

We loved staying at Mambo Lodge. A real home away from home - cute little dogs , chooks and fresh eggs. Lovely green grass and a plunge pool to cool off.
Hosts Gerhard and Hanli were very welcoming, friendly and helpful.
Good position to explore Darwin and surrounds.
Be prepared for mosquitoes, bugs and cute green tree frogs.

Camped at Middle Camp Berry Springs for a long weekend getaway close to home (Darwin locals). Felt like we were miles away from home, it was such a peaceful spot. Loved that we could reserve a site and knew exactly what we were getting. The outdoor shower on our site was brilliant. Site 3 was shady and private, tucked away up the back of the campground.
The only issue we had was with mosquitoes. They were rampant. I got eaten alive, even using Bushmans spray, a mozzie coil, citronella candle and my Thermacell.
Unfortunately I became quite unwell during our stay and we had to leave in a hurry on the second day. As such, were unable to stay the final night of our booking which was a real shame.
We would come back again. Maybe when the weather is cooler. Our dogs also enjoyed the little getaway. Really appreciate being able to find nice, quiet camping spots that are so welcoming to dogs.

He even offered us a table and chair since we were traveling with a small tent. He also had a lot of information about Darwin. The restrooms were very clean. We had a great stay. It’s a shame we could only stay one night. We’d definitely come back if we’re ever in the area again.

Stayed here recently and honestly couldn’t have asked for a better camping experience. The campsite is truly in the middle of nowhere, which made it perfect for switching off and enjoying some peace and quiet. Despite the remote location, the place is incredibly well maintained — everything was clean, tidy, and clearly looked after with care.
What really made the stay unforgettable was the host. She was absolutely wonderful — so welcoming, kind, and genuinely passionate about making sure guests have a great time. It’s rare to come across someone who goes the extra mile like she does, and it made a huge difference to our experience.
If you’re looking for a quiet escape with a personal touch, this is the spot. We’ll definitely be coming back, and next time we’re bringing more friends along to share it.
