Darwin is the gateway to the amazing Kakadu and Litchfield National Parks. There are many popular waterfront areas with several beaches including Lee Point and Casuarina. While sightseeing, make sure you visit the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory, The War Museum and Aviation Museum. For outdoor enthusiasts, there are some good fishing and biking trails. We are located on a 5-acre block in the Northern Suburbs. The top 2 acres are laid out in a tropical garden setting, with the other 3 acres set out with native Darwin plants visited by lots of native animals and birds. We have a variety of native birds on the property and are close by to local bird watch areas. You'll feel like you're a whole world away yet you will only be 2 minutes from the supermarket, 5 minutes from a large shopping centre, and 15 minutes from Darwin's CBD. We are a small boutique site and only have 5 powered sites and 8 non powered sites on the 5 acres. Your site is private and you will be able to enjoy your stay without interference from others. The property has a secured gate that requires fob access and a security entrance camera. IMPORTANT: Each site can accommodate 2 adults MAX. If you have 3 or 4 adults, you will need to book two sites. Please note The Bounganvillea site is open all year round and has a concrete base. Other sites are dependant on weather and access.

We had a brilliant time in this wonderful natural paradise. Pete gave us a warm welcome on arrival and took plenty of time to show us around. He knows all the trees, bushes and animals on his property. The toilet and shower facilities are very well equipped and you feel right at home. We can highly recommend this accommodation.

Peter is very attentive to his guests and property. There is two bathrooms on site and two washing machines at $4 each load. They are in good condition, the showers and toilets and cleaned regularly. There is other guests on site but Peter has made sure there is adequate space between sites. I hardly heard any traffic noise or anything at night. We were very comfortable and will be back. 🙏 Thank you Peter

A peaceful place, with an incredibly kind host ! Pete did his best to make our stay perfect... You are surrounded with trees, and feel like you're alone. There's plenty of space in the camp sites and you have access to drinkable water. We saw many birds, and a bunch of harmless snakes ! If you love nature and animals, you can't go wrong by staying here ! Would recommend this place to anyone, it's absolutely fantastic :)

We really enjoyed our stay. Peter was very friendly and welcoming, and he’s created a beautiful treed garden setting that makes each campsite feel private and peaceful. The gated property felt very safe, and the toilets and bathrooms were spotless. It’s also in a great location, close to Darwin while still feeling nice and quiet. We’d happily stay again.

This is an excellent bush camp right in Darwin, 5 mins from Casaurina. Facilities are impeccable and extremely well looked after. Pete is very knowledgeable and the site has an interesting history. We had trouble with our van and Pete was very accommodating to our needs, also placing us on a larger site so our friends could stay as well. Can’t recommend this place highly enough. Thanks Pete. We spent 6 days at Urban retreat and everything was perfect. Pete was super welcoming and we appreciated having a chat with him everyday. You can clearly see how much he cares for the place and the people who are there. Super clean amenities, nice shady spots. If you have any problem, Pete's finds a way to help out. We would highly recommend Urban retreat and we'll be back if ever going back to Darwin.

Peter’s place is a secluded hideaway in Darwin, yet it is within easy reach of the city and beaches. We loved our little space which was surrounded by native trees and landscaped with pathways running to various parts of the property. We could barely see other caravans. There are 2 beautifully clean bathrooms, each having flushing toilets, hot showers washing machines. Peter is a great host.

Urban retreat is a little gem located close to Darwin. We enjoyed our quiet private shady campsite. The sites are spaced perfectly and we felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. Peter went out of his way to ensure our stay was enjoyable and comfortable and they were very welcoming of our dog. The fresh bath mats in the showers were a cherry on top. We would not hesitate recommending urban retreat to anyone.

Price: Very reasonable for such a prime location in Darwin City. Peter has created a truly special retreat. His genuine care for both the property and his guests shines through in every detail. Staying here made my Darwin experience so much more enjoyable, and I wouldn't hesitate to return. Highly recommended.

Pete was a great host. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and ended up staying a week. Felt secluded with your own space. Easy to get into city and other attractions. Super dog friendly, Pete even looked after our dog so we could visit Lichfield NP. Dog friendly beach close by.

We were warmly welcomed by Pete, Pete was very enthusiastic about his place. He even offered us a table and chair since we were traveling with a small tent. He also had a lot of information about Darwin. The restrooms were very clean. We had a great stay. It’s a shame we could only stay one night. We’d definitely come back if we’re ever in the area again.

Beautiful campsite and Peter was a great host. A lot of time, love and effort has gone into creating a small nature haven in the suburbs of Darwin, with lots of native trees and the wildlife that they attract. Peter was very friendly and gave us lots of advice on what to do, where to eat and drink etc. I'd highly recommend staying here if looking to camp in the Darwin area

Our stay here was great, Peter has thought of everything possible which made it a very accomodating and easy stay. Plenty of privacy with all of the native trees and work he's put in. The pool is also a great bonus!!

Bush Site Cocky Apple NO POWER
Lovely place, really a green oasis, very close to the busy downtown, but you feel in (a very well organized and beautiful part of) the bush!!! The swimming pool was great, amenities clean , host friendly ... What more to ask.

Excellent host and a beautiful place. Highly recommend. Nice little pool clean bathrooms great location. We were very happy with our stay definitely recommend if you want to feel like you’re in a remote place but still close to all the local amenities. 10 mins to the beach.
