Darwin is the gateway to the amazing Kakadu and Litchfield National Parks. There are many popular waterfront areas with several beaches including Lee Point and Casuarina. While sightseeing, make sure you visit the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory, The War Museum and Aviation Museum. For outdoor enthusiasts, there are some good fishing and biking trails. We are located on a 5-acre block in the Northern Suburbs. The top 2 acres are laid out in a tropical garden setting, with the other 3 acres set out with native Darwin plants visited by lots of native animals and birds. We have a variety of native birds on the property and are close by to local bird watch areas. You'll feel like you're a whole world away yet you will only be 2 minutes from the supermarket, 5 minutes from a large shopping centre, and 15 minutes from Darwin's CBD. We are a small boutique site and only have 5 powered sites and 8 non powered sites on the 5 acres. Your site is private and you will be able to enjoy your stay without interference from others. The property has a secured gate that requires fob access and a security entrance camera. IMPORTANT: Each site can accommodate 2 adults MAX. If you have 3 or 4 adults, you will need to book two sites. Please note The Bounganvillea site is open all year round and has a concrete base. Other sites are dependant on weather and access.

Hillier Hideaway is a beautiful 5-acre property located 2 minutes from Coolalinga Central. With 4 well shaded, spacious sites this is the perfect place to pull up and explore Darwin and its surrounds. Sites are not visible from the road and there are no dirt bike tracks or open land adjoining the property, making this a very secluded and safe site. We can accommodate vans up to 24 feet and have 1 dedicated site for either a camper trailer or tent. All sites have no power or water, so you will need to be fully self-sufficient. There is however a single shower and toilet for use if needed. There is a dump point at the Caravan Park across from Coolalinga Central that can be used for a small fee. All sites are well maintained with plenty of shade, please note during the dry season the grassed area will die off. There will be areas allocated for small campfires and guests must follow fire bans as the restrictions come up. There are wild peacocks that come in at dawn and dusk to get their daily feed, guests are welcome to come watch, Burdekin ducks and possums at night. Pets are allowed however dogs must remain on a lead as there is allot of wildlife that call the property home.

We loved the spot , camp 1 so spacious. Felt far away from other sites, super private. Brand new clean amenities. We are darwin locals so wanted a chill night not too far drive from Darwin CBD . Absolutely would recommend. The most beautifully kept property we’ve stayed so far. Clean, shady, quiet, lovely and tropical. We got a very warm welcome from the hosts (dogs and chickens included) and the property just felt safe and relaxing. Our dog loved it too, so much space to run around and play with the other animals. We love bush camping away from the crowds but this place offered us a great space, quiet, beautifully maintained grounds, and a bonus extra of power, water and an amenities building that had shower, toilet and a washing machine!! The highest standards we’ve seen in a bush camp!! Loved it!!

What a beautiful spot to relax and unwind, very well kept Hipcamp. We had site 2 (for 3 days) facing the bush and a little fire pit. The outside shower was lovely and hot, and the free washing machine was a bonus! Lovely fresh rain water for drinking and power was even more of a bonus. The beach was just down the road and the pub was a short 10 minute drive away. Would definitely recommend 😄

Good access and directions. Quiet location among shady trees. Great amenities, choice of indoor or outdoor shower. So much nicer than a caravan park. Booked for 1 stayed and paid for 2. Easy drive to Dundee tavern and boat jetty.

Great spot. Very peaceful. Nice to have some grass around you and your own camp fire pit. Amenities were clean with an awesome outdoor shower. And a short walk to the beach. We will stay again as it's an easy drive from Darwin for a relaxing escape.

Spacious unpowered drive through spot. Plenty of sun for our solar. No water hook up or dump point. Our friends stayed at the campsite next door for the same price with water, toilet/shower and dump point.

Weekend Trip to Litchfield Campground

We had a great few nights here. It was a great base to get out and explore the national park during the day and come back to a large open space to enjoy the sunset. While there isn't much shade you can park your van on the right angle to protect you from the hot midday and arvo sun. Having the toilets available during the day was good too.

Such a beautiful site. Beautiful space, so quiet and peaceful but still close to the beach and short drive to the boat ramp. The amenities were superb, LOVED the outdoor shower and free washing machine. It was the best sleep I have had in a long time, felt safe and calm and not surrounded by heaps of other campers. Thank you for a wonderful stay

Great place for families and glamping - grassy opening with water and power at each site. Well maintained and clean toilet/laundry/shower. Also spread out enough to not see the neighbouring camp.
